Study Time

Me And The Girl Next Door

One month later.

Wayne had his head buried on the book  as he cried. Wes could only sweat drop as he looked at him. "None of the things I studied were even in the test..." Wayne said weakly. Wes let out a sigh. "Stop worrying..." Wes told him. "I will have to retake the exams next year..." Wayne whined again. "It was just a mock test." Wes told him. "I'm going to die before mom could kill me."  Wayne said before crying aloud.

Wes let out a sigh, and looked at Sylvia. She also had her face buried in her book. "Mommy darling will disown me if I didn't pass the test..."  she cried. He looked at Diana, and she was the same. "At this rate, I'm not going to survive the GST..." Diana mumbled. He looked around, and it seems everyone's worrying and crying because of the mock test. Except for him and Sunnee.

"Sunnee, you're not worried?" Wes asked her. Sunnee smiled at him. "Me and Raccoon will take the exams next year after our gap year." she told him confidently. Then, Wayne sat up, and looked at Wes. "You are the only one who's going to pass the GST." Wayne told him. Wes let out a sigh. "Yes, but will my grades be high enough to get into medical school? I was only able to catch up with the lessons and review right now" he said worriedly.

Sylvia looked at Wes, and smiled. "I know you can do it." she cheered on him. Wes looked at her, and smiled. "You can do it too, my Fei Fei. If your mom disowns you, you know Aunt Melody and dad is willing to adopt you, right?" Wes said. "Or, you two can just get married!" Wayne suggested. Sylvia sweat dropped as she looked at Wayne, while Wes glared at him. "Do you want to die?" Wes asked him. Wayne let out an awkward smile and made a peace sign to him.

Wes let out a sigh. "All right, how about this. I'll ask Dylan, and maybe we can go and review at my place every weekend until the GST." Wes told them. Diana, Wayne and Sylvia looked at Wes as if he saved them. "Really?" the three asked. Wes nodded his head. "Well, Dylan can teach you..." Wes said pointing Diana and Wayne. "While I help my Fei Fei with the review." Wes said smiling at his girlfriend.

Diana and Wayne could fel their vein popping at what Wes said. The two hit him with their books. "What a friend!" Diana said sarcastically. "You want to leave us with Dylan? You want us to die?!" Wayne said. Wes covered himself with his arms as they hit him. "I was just kidding!" Wes said. It was only then that the two stopped.

Sylvia couldn't help but smile at Wes. She was happy that Wes is much happier now. Ever since his mother died, she had been worried about him. "I'm glad he's OK. Aunt Jane, don't worry, I'm keeping my promise to keep an eye on your son. I promise I'll make sure he'll wear that smile on his face." she thought.

"So, that's how you get the answer for this question..." Melody told Allie. The little girl smiled at her, and wrote down the answer on her notebook. "Very good! Allie is such a smart girl! Like Zheng ge ge!" Melody cheered. Qin Yang looked at his sister and his daughter. He smiled at the two. Melody and Allie got along from the very start,  and became much closer as days passed by, and he was so happy about their relationship.

"Aunt Melody, thank you for helping me with my homework." Allie said. Melody rested her chin on her hand, giving the little girl a confused look. "But, you always ask Zheng ge ge for help. Why didn't you want to wait till he gets home so you two can do your homework?" Melody asked her.

"Zheng ge ge needs to prepare for a test too. I don't want to disturb him while he's reviewing. He need to pass that test to be a doctor like dada, right?" Allie told her. Upon realizing that, Melody smacked herself in the head. "The GSTs! I totally forgot about it. All right, Allie. While Zheng ge ge is reviewing for his test, ask me for help if you can't answer your homework, OK?" Melody told her. Allie smiled at her as she nodded her head. "And, you can also ask dada for help." Qin Yang told her. "Thank you, Aunt Melody, dada!" Allie said.

Just then, Wes came inside the house. He sat on the couch, weary from school. "I'm so tired..." he whined. Allie looked at her elder brother, and smiled at him. "Don't worry, Zheng ge ge. I'll hug you so you won't be tired anymore!" Allie said. Wes smiled at his little sister as she hugged him. "Ah. my sweet little sister! Thank you for the hug, now I don't feel tired anymore." he said.

"You're home early. I thought you and Fei Fei are going out on a date?" Melody asked her nephew. "She was so tired from school as well. She said she don't want to go on a date today. She just want to sleep, as she pulled out an all nighter the past few nights from reviewing for the mock test." Wes explained. "Poor Fei Fei, she must be studying hard for the GST. Zheng, you should help her with reviewing." Melody said. Wes nodded his head. "We will review here at the house tomorrow. Also, I wanted to get home early to help Allie with her homework." Wes said.

Allie smiled at him. "I'm done with my homework! Aunt Melody helped me." she said. Wes pouted at her. "Why didn't you wait for me?" Wes said in a hurt tone. "Aiya, Zheng... Allie didn't want to disturb you because she knows your preparing for the GST. Let me and Aunt Melody help Allie with her homework for now, OK? You need to focus on the GST." Qin Yang told his son. Wes let out a sigh, and looked at his little sister. "Sorry, mei mei..." he told her.

Allie shook her head. "It's OK, ge ge. You need to pass the test to be a doctor, right?" she said. Wes smiled, and ruffled her hair. Then, she hugged him tight. "I love my little sister!" he said, making Allie giggle. Melody stood up, and smiled at the three. "All right, I'll go and prepare dinner now." she said before heading to the kitchen.

"Zheng, I know you're prioritizing your studies for now, but you should also take good care of your girlfriend, OK?" Qin Yang told her. Wes smiled at his father. "I am, dad. Don't worry." he said. "I've seen how Fei Fei took care and looked after you during the time your mother is sick, and even after your mom died. I can see how much she loves you. So you need to cherish a girl like her. I'm expecting her to be my daughter-in-law in the future, all right?" Qin Yang told him. Wes laughed at what his father said.

"Dada is right, Zheng ge ge. I don't want you to marry someone else, just Fei Fei jie." Allie told him. "Guys, I'm still in high school. Of course, I have plans for me and Fei Fei, Big plans. But that plan can only come to life if I pass my GST, and go to a good school. And Fei Fei understands that our studies comes first before anything else." Wes told them.

Qin Yang smiled at his son. He is very proud of what he had become. "I'm glad." he said. "Me too!" Allie told Wes. "Me three!" Melody shouted from the kitchen. Wes just laughed at his family members.

"Yu Fei, I know that you're in love, but you should prioritize your studies." Pauline said sternly as they were eating their dinner. Sylvia just nodded her head. "You and Zheng's still too young to be serious. You have your whole life ahead of you, so focus first on what's important." she added.

"We both know our priorities, mommy darling. Don't worry." Sylvia said. Pauline smiled at her daughter. She is happy when she found out Wes is now her boyfriend, because she know Wes is a good influence on her. Not that she didn't like Sam, but with Wes, she knew what's the  priority of that boy. "Good. Let me tell you, you should ask Zheng for help if you are having problems with studies." Pauline said. Sylvia nodded her head.

"Also..." Pauline added. She took two tickets from her bag, and handed it to her. Sylvia gave her mom a confused look as she took the tickets. It was a ticket for a newly opened ocean park in Taipei. "You two should go out on a date from time to time." Pauline said to her daughter with a wink. "Mommy darling!" Sylvia exclaimed.

She stood up, and hugged her mom tight. "Thank you for the tickets!" she said as she kissed her on the cheek. "Aiyo, it's all right Yu Fei. I was thinking maybe Zheng is still having a hard time after his mom's death. Plus, it's a reward because while Zheng is taking care of his mom at the hospital, you became studious." Pauline said.

Sylvia looked at her mom with a pout. "But I am studious. And besides, I have to organize my notes so I can help Zheng and Wayne catch up with the lessons." she said. Pauline just laughed at her. Sylvia looked at the tickets and smiled. "Finally, I can make more memories with him." she thought.

The next afternoon at Wes' house.

Dylan was busy explaining the solution to the math problem, but while he is explaining, Diana and Sylvia looked at him like he was talking in gibberish. "'Do you understand now?" Dylan asked the two.

Diana and Sylvia looked at each other, and just cried. "I still can't understand it!" Diana cried. "What does calculus have to do with being a pastry chef?!" Sylvia cried as well. Wes and Wayne just sweat dropped as they looked at their girlfriends.

"This problem is too complicated. Maybe you can start off with a more simple problem, Raccoon?" Sunnee suggested. Dylan just scratched his head, and skimmed through his math book. Wes looked at Wayne, and saw him looking down on his Physics book. "What's wrong?" Wes asked him. Wayne let out a sigh. "Why is it that when I'm reviewing this, I can get the answer, but on the actual test, I can't even remember the formula?" Wayne said.

Wes put his arm around his shoulder, and looked at his book. Wayne moved a little bit closer to Wes to cozy up. "Some formulas here, you can remember them phonetically. Also, just remember the constant values that you will be needing." Wes explained to him. Wayne nodded his head as he listened to Wes. The two boys were so close to each other, he could feel someone glaring at them.

Wayne and Wes looked up, and saw Diana and Sylvia glaring at them. The two girls folded their arms as Diana cleared . She smiled evilly at Wayne. "Yes, Xiao Jin? Why are you so close to Zheng?" she said. The two boys finally noticed how close they are together, and immediately pulled away from each other. Dylan couldn't help but laugh at the two.

Then, Wayne eyed Sunnee, and approached her. "Sunnee! Help me with this." Wayne said as she sat next to her. This time, Dylan cleared his throat. "If you get an inch closer to my girlfriend, I will slash your throat." Dylan said while smiling evilly at him.

--

Sylvia and Wes was left outside the house after they see off their friends. "I'm glad we were able to review somehow." Wes  said. Sylvia laughed. "Wayne keeps causing problems." Sylvia told him. Then, from behind, Wes hugged her. "Don't be jealous of him, all right? I only love you." he told him as he kissed her cheek. Sylvia giggled at him. "It's fun messing around with Xiao Jin, I'm sorry. And Diana gets easily jealous. She must really love him." Sylvia said.

"Well, are girls really scary when they're jealous?" Wes asked. "Diana is. But me..." she said. Her voice trailed as she tries to remember how she was when she get jealous. "Either you're really angry or you become sad. You distance yourself. When you're very very jealous, you almost want to cry." Wes told her. Sylvia gave him a confused look. "How did you know? I don't even know that myself!" Sylvia said.

"Remember when Pei Ci came, and we still didn't know she likes girls? I noticed how you are when you get jealous. You got mad at me. You wanted to be alone. And I see that you were so sad as Pei Ci and I were getting closer." he reminded her. Upon remembering that, she let out a laugh. He was right, she thought Pei Ci is her love rival, but turns out, she's actually Wes' love rival. Wes hugged her tighter. "I don't know if in the future, I will make you upset. But if I do, you have to tell me, all right?" he told her. Sylvia looked at him and smile. "I don't think there's anything you'll do that will make me upset. As long as I'll be able to find you, or you don't flirt with other girls. Or even Wayne." Sylvia told him. Wes just let out a laugh.

"Oh, I forgot..." Sylvia said as she turned to face him. She took out two tickets from her bag, and showed it to Wes. "Mom gave this to me. This is the new ocean park that opened. Can we go tomorrow?" she asked. Wes smiled at her. "Of course! And besides, I owe you a lot of dates. After all, you had been very understanding with me the last few weeks. I should treat my girlfriend out, right?" Wes said. Sylvia nodded her head, and hugged him tight.
