"You're weird, you know?"

Wayne said as he and Wes went inside a jewelry store after their classes. "Why?" Wes asked. "First of all, it's your birthday. You should be getting gifts, not the other way around." Wayne told him. Wes smiled at him. "Well, it's for the girl I love." he said. "What will you do if Fei Fei rejects you again?" Wayne asked. Wes just shrugged his shoulder. 

Inside the store, he saw Chun talking with the salesman. "Oh, here he is!" Chun said as he looked at them. He waved at the two, and the two approached them. "You're lucky, they had the last piece of it." Chun told Wes. The salesman took out a long velvety box, and opened it. Inside was a butterfly necklace with a pink gem. 

"This is the butterfly wish necklace. If you give this to the girl you love, then you and you girl will have a lifetime of happiness." The salesman told him. "Really? That's awesome!" Wayne said as he looked at the necklace. "I'm pretty sure your girlfriend will be happy if she receives this. And she will look pretty on it too!" the salesman said. 

Wes lifted the necklace and smiled. He could imagine how pretty Sylvia will look on the necklace. "I'll take this." he said as he looked at everyone. "It's a good choice, young man. You have a lucky girlfriend." the salesman said. Wes just smiled at him.

"Ah, that's too many gifts for Zheng!" Ella commented as she watch Sylvia took out the gifts she had for Wes. "I want to give him a few more gifts, because it's the first birthday alone, and I don't want to make him feel alone just because Aunt Melody and his dad isn't here." Sylvia explained. 

Ella looked at the gifts on the table. "A headphone?" Ella asked her. "He likes listening to music to relax. I figure out he might need a new headphone." 

"What's this? A book? Is this his favorite author?"

"Yup! Good thing I found a copy of that book. He told me last night he couldn't get hold a copy of that book." 

"And what is this?"

Ella took a square box, and slowly opened it. Inside was a leather bracelet with a catpaw on it. Ella laughed upon seeing it. "We both like cats so I bought him that. And so that he'll have something that reminds him of me." Sylvia explained. "Then, I'll help wrap these for you. Anyway, are you ready for your confession tomorrow?" Ella asked her. 

Sylvia sighed as she pouted. "I don't know how I'll start with it. I don't even know what to say!" she said. Ella just smiled at her. "Just go straight to the point. Tell him you love him, period. You don't need to further explain anything before telling him what you feel." Ella said. "So, I should just say, 'Zheng, I love you'?" Sylvia asked. Ella nodded her head. "The shorter, the better." Ella said. 

"Ah! Ella jie, I'm getting nervous. What if he rejects me this time? What if he still sees me as his little sister?" Sylvia said worriedly. "But what if he feels the same way for you?" Ella said. Then, she held her hand, and smiled at her. "You need to forget your worries for now. Focus on how you will tell him that you love him. Also, you need to make yourself really pretty tomorrow so that he won't say no to you." Ella said. Sylvia giggled at what Ella said. "Then, can you make me the prettiest girl tomorrow, Ella jie?" she asked. Ella nodded her head. 

Then, there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it." Sylvia said. She walked to the door and opened it. She saw Wes standing outside. "Zheng!" she said excitedly. Wes gave her a boyish smile, which made her heart melt. "Hey, I was wondering if you're free tomorrow?" Wes asked her. "Of course! I know what day it is! It's a special day because it's your birthday!" Sylvia said. 

"Then, will you go out with me tomorrow?" Wes asked. Sylvia couldn't help but smile. "Oh my God, is he asking me out on a date? On his birthday?" she thought. "I want to celebrate my birthday with my little sister." Wes said. Sylvia flinched at what he said. "But by tomorrow, I'll make sure you won't be my little sister anymore." Wes thought. 

"Well, of course I can go out on date with you tomorrow." Sylvia said. Wes gave her a confused look. Then, Sylvia just realized what she said. "It's a birthday date. With my big brother, right?" she asked. Wes nodded his head. "Then, I'll see you tomorrow then." he said. "See you tomorrow." Sylvia said. 

As Sylvia closed the door, she leaned behind it, and made a muffle shriek. Ella could see how happy she is. "Did someone just got asked on date tomorrow?" Ella asked. Sylvia nodded her head. "I can't wait for tomorrow!" she said.

The next day.

Wes sat up on his bed, and the first thing he saw were the stack of gifts on his table. "Happy birthday to me!" he thought. He walked up to his table, and saw the gifts from his Aunt Melody, his dad, Ella, Chun, and two gifts from Sylvia. 

"Ah, Fei Fei really made this day so special for me." he thought. He smiled to himself as he think of what will happen today on his birthday. "I really hope my plan will work." he said to himself. 

He got ready for his date that day. He wore his best clothes, and put on his favorite cologne. He made sure he will be the most handsome guy in Sylvia's eyes that day. 

Meanwhile, Ella helped Sylvia get ready for her date with Wes. She helped pick out a pretty dress for her, and did her hair and make up. "Wow, you look like a pretty doll. I'm pretty sure Wes will fall in love with you when he sees you!" Ella said the moment they're done. Sylvia smiled at herself. "Thank you, Ella jie." Sylvia said. 

"Then, I have to go now. I promised Stephy I'll pick her up from the orphanage today. Enjoy your date with Zheng, all right?" Ella told her. Sylvia nodded her head. She said goodbye to her, and then looked back at herself in the mirror. She let out a smile as she stared at her reflection. "Today's the day..." she thought. She know after this day, things will change between her and Wes. And that change, she hope, would be for the better.

Wes waited outside Sylvia's house. His heart is beating fast in every second she has not yet come out. He was getting nervous, and he doesn't even know how he will start his confession later. 

Then, he saw the door slowly opened. As he looked up, he saw Sylvia walking out of the house. As he looked at her, he was mesmerized once again. She was specially beautiful on that day. As she smiled at him, he felt like he was melting. He couldn't help but just gaze at her, and be speechless. 

"Happy birthday!"

Sylvia looked up at him, and smiled. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. All he could do is smile at him. "I think this is the happiest birthday of my life..." he thought. He knew he looked like a fool, just smiling at her, but he couldn't help it. 

"Are you all right, Zheng?" Sylvia asked. Wes nodded his head. "You're so pretty today." he managed to say. Her cheeks turned pink at what he said. "Thanks..." she said. "Then, let's go? I wanted to show you something." he said. Sylvia smiled at nodded her head. 

He took his hand, and linked his arm to hers. As they walked, he couldn't help but keep glancing at her. "So, where are you going to take me? Are you going to treat me out?" she asked. "I'm going to take you to a place I know you'll really really love." he told her. 

As she looked at him, she felt his heart to beat fast. It seems like when he saw him, she forgot the lines she rehearsed for her confession. She felt nervous and giddy around him. After all, he looked more handsome on this day. 

They stopped in front an old warehouse. Sylvia was confused as to why Wes brought her to that place. "What's in here?" she asked him. Wes smiled at her. "You'll find out soon." he said. He held her hand, and lead her to the door. "I'm scared..." Sylvia said."I'm with you, you don't have to be scared. Trust me on this one, all right?" he told her. 

Sylvia slowly pushed the door. The place is still dark. "Zheng, what's going on?" she asked. She heard the door behind her close. "Zheng? Where are you?" she asked nervously. She walked around until she reached the middle. And once she's at the center, the lights . 

She was in awe as she looked at the place. She smiled, seeing paper butterflies hanging from the ceiling. She held one, and took a closer look on it. "Paper butterflies... did Zheng do all of these?" she asked herself. As she looked up, she saw Wes walking up to her, holding a bouquet of roses. 

Her heart began to best fast, she could hear it. With every step Wes made closer to her, she could feel her loud heartbeat. "Oh my God..." she said. Everything was beyond her imagination, and it was something more that she had ever wanted. 

"Hi..." Wes said nervously. "'Hi..." Sylvia said. "I hope you liked how I prepared the place." Wes said. "You did all of these?" 

"I asked for help."

Sylvia let out a nervous laugh. "I wanted to make this day special for the two of us, not just because it's my birthday. I wanted this day to be special for you, because you're special for me." Wes told him. Sylvia smiled at him. She wanted to cry, but she tried to keep the happy tears from falling in her eyes.

"I know. I promised that I will only see you as my little sister, and I thought I could do that too. But, I was wrong. I fell in love with you. I didn't know when it started, but all I know is that when I'm with you, my heart starts to beat fast. When I'm not with you, I feel sad. When I see you hurt, I feel hurt too. Until this day, even if you rejected me before, I never stopped loving you. I hope, this time, you could give me  chance. I can be a good boyfriend." he said. Sylvia laughed at what he said. 

"But seriously, if you give me a chance, I'll do everything to make you happy. I promise I won't hurt you. I promise I won't let you cry, unless it's tears of joy. I promise to never leave your side, and be there whenever you need me. I will be your pillow if you wanted to cry, I will be the Punishment Day shield to protect you, and I will be the dragon tattooed pan to power you up on your fights in life. I may not be KO3, but I can be the Da Dong in your life.  If you choose me, I'll work hard for our future together. Because you're my big plan. Because I want the best for you. Because I love you."

Sylvia smiled at him. Then, she took a paper butterfly from her pocket, and gave it to him. "I made this paper butterfly for you before, when Tia told me she's leaving you. I wished for your happiness when I was making it. I wasn't able to give this to you back then, because I know it wasn't the right time. I guess this is the right moment for me to give this to you." she told him. 

Wes stared at the paper butterfly, and then looked up at her. He saw her smiling at him. "Make a wish." she told him. "Well, you know my wish. I wish for you to love me too..." Wes said. "I love you too." Sylvia said. 

He was speechless at what she said. It felt like it was a dream, but he knew he is awake. "Fei Fei..." he whispered as he smiled. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" he asked. Sylvia shook her head. "Then, it means..."

"Ah, you should keep your promise to me, all right? Will you make me happy too?" 

He nodded his head. "I will. I will, Fei Fei." he said. Sylvia simply smiled at him. "So, this should be the part where the boy kisses the girl after a confession, right?" Sylvia said. Wes let out a laugh. "Then, can I kiss you?" he asked. Sylvia nodded her head. 

He lifted her chin, and stared into her eyes for a while. "I love you so much, Fei Fei." he whispered to her. "I love you too, Zheng." she answered. As she closed her eyes, she felt his lips against hers as he kissed her lovingly.
