"Chun ge? I'm home!"

Wes entered the house, and closed the door behind him. Chun walked out of the kitchen to greet him. "Welcome back. Anyway, you've got a letter." Chun said. He went to the shelf to take the letter he received. 

"Whoa, it's the first time that I got a letter instead of bills, huh? Was it from Dad? Or from Aunt Melody?" He asked. Chun finally got hold of the letter, and read who it came from. "No, it's from someone named Pei Ci." Chun said as he handed him the letter. 

Wes let out a smile upon hearing that name. He took the envelope from Chun's hand, and saw Pei Ci's name on it. "A friend?" Chun asked. Wes nodded his head. "A really old friend. I never thought she would remember me." he said. Wes told him. "Oh, I see. It's from a girl" Chun said. He saw Wes stare at the envelope for a long time. He saw the happy look on the young man's face as he stared at it. "Then, go and read it! She might want to tell you something." Chun said. 

Wes  smiled at the older guy. "I will. Excuse me for a while, Chun ge." he said. As he excitedly went up to the stairs, Chun called him. "Wes..." Chun called. Wes stopped walking, and looked at him. "You're so handsome." Chun said. Wes simply laughed at him.

Sylvia was at her room, reading the new magazine she bought at the store. Then, an article caught her attention. "Signs Your Best Friend Is In Love With You..." she read out loud. She sat up, as she began to read the article. 

"They say a boy and a girl can't stay friends for a long time. One of them will end up falling in love with another. How would you know if your best friend is in love with you? Here are the signs you should look out for. 

"One. He always take care of you..."

Sylvia remembered when she got a toothache. Wes helped to feed her her lunch, so that she could drink her medicine. Not to mention, he stayed overnight when she got sick and got brokenhearted. When she had her red days, Wes is always there to run an errand for her, including buying her a napkin. She remembered how the risk he took when he entered the girl's comfort room to hand her a napkin. Lately, Wes always help carry her bag. He snatches it from her chair, and carry it until the two of them gets home. 

She also remembered when she saw Sam kissing another girl, she ran away. When it started to rain, she was so scared. She thought she wouldn't be able to go home, but Wes found her. In the crowd after the talent show at the school festival, it was also Wes that was able to find her. It seems like no matter where she goes, Wes knows where to find her. 

"Two. He'll do his best to keep  you happy."

Wes always do things she requests, no matter how ridiculous it is. When she told Wes that he doesn't look like Zhi Ge, and insisted he wear his dragon onesie, Even though he didn't want to change, in the end, he wore the dragon onesie. Even if he hated shopping, he still go with her to the mall to shop, and help her carry all her bags. She knew Wes hates sweets, but he always order something sweet for himself, so that she could finish it. He even baked a brownie for her. Even if his jokes are lame, Wes tries his best make her smile. He would do everything to make her happy, especially during the time she thought she can't smile anymore. He always gives her paper butterflies so she could make her wish, and she had always kept those paper butterflies he gave her.

"Three. He always find a way to be close to you."

Lately, she noticed that Wes would always want to be close to her. A while ago, when they were walking to the cafe, Wes held her hand. The warmth of his hand felt different. He never held her hand that way before. She also noticed that he would patiently wait for her till her cleaning duties are done. He always make sure he would walk her to school, and walk her home. She knew they have been doing it for years, but this time, Wes will not allow her to be alone lately. 

Sometimes, she would catch him by his balcony, looking at her window. It's like he was watching over her through the night. He always makes an excuse to visit her at her house lately, or even ask her to come over his house. 

"Four. He seems nervous around you."

She didn't notice it before, but looking back, she remember Wes blushing whenever she smile at him. She heard his heartbeat when he held her close. Sometimes, he stutter when he talks to her. It was like he's trying to hide a secret, and was too scared he will find out. 

"Five. He looks and smile at you differently."

There's something about the way he smile at her. It wasn't a goofy or playful smile he always wear when he jokes around her. It was a kind of smile you give to the person you love. But she have to admit, seeing Wes that way made him more handsome.

He looks at her with tenderness. It's like there is happiness in his eyes whenever he looks her way. He seems to be excited when he gets to see her. When she's sad, there's always a worried look on his face. When she's happy, there's a happy expression on his face as well. Even if he doesn't like the things he do for her, whenever she compliments him, he turns his frown into a smile. 

And how many times had she caught him staring at him?

Sylvia closed the magazine, and stared at the wall in front of her. It was all clear to her now. "Oh my God, Zheng is in love with me!" she exclaimed. She was suddenly scared and worried upon realization. She grew up with him. She treats him like a big brother. She didn't even gave him the reason for fall for him, so why?

Then, she let out a squeal. 

"Sylvia?" 

She looked at the door, and saw Ella standing by her door. "What's wrong? Did you see any cockroach in your room? Or a rat? I can call Wes to help -"

"No!"

Ella was surprised at her reaction. "Why? Wes always help to take out the creepy critters in your room..." she asked. "No, there's no creepy critters here. I... I just realized something..." Sylvia said. Ella noticed the magazine she's holding. 

She walked up to her and sat beside her on the bed. She took the magazine she was holding, and looked at the article she was reading. Ella smiled secretly as she read the headline. "Signs Your Best Friend Is In Love With You." Ella read aloud. "This girl finally realized it, huh?" she thought. "OK, so this article made you shrieked?" Ella asked. Sylvia nodded her head. "And because..."

"Because I noticed the signs with Zheng!" Sylvia said. Ella just nodded her head. "And is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Ella asked. Sylvia let out a sigh. "I don't know... Zheng is the guy I grew up with, and someone I regard as my brother. If he's in love with me, then that would be awkward, right?" she said. "But, what do you feel about Wes?" Ella asked. 

"Zheng... I... I just wish we could remain as friends. Because right now, I don't think I can fall in love again." she answered. Ella let out a sigh, and then gave her a smile. "Sylvia, just because you've had a bad experience with your first love, it doesn't mean that you have to stop loving. First love is there, so that what we will do the next love comes. There will be a second, a third, a fourth, until you find the one  who would give you the love you deserve and needed. Don't be scared to fall in love again, because not all love stories have the same endings.   As for Wes, you can't ask someone to stop loving you. They feel that way for you. But you have to keep an open mind about Wes. Wes is a good guy, and if he really likes you, then you only have two options - to reject him or to accept him. And besides, you just read these in the magazine. Have you observed if there are any changes in him lately? Have you ever asked him if he really loves you?" she asked. 

Sylvia shook her head. "Sometimes, articles like this is unreliable. The most reliable way is to ask that person what they feel towards you." Ella said. "But, what if I did and he just laughed at me? What if I'm just overthinking? Am I overthinking, Ella jie?" she asked. Ella simply smiled at her. "Just ask Zheng, all right?" Ella said. 

Then, she stood up, and left her room. As she closed the door behind her, Ella let out a smile. "Silly girl, I think you also like Wes!" she thought. "Maybe you two just need a little push."

School day. 

Sylvia paced back and forth at the living room. "OK, you have to observe Zheng, and see if he really likes you..." she said to herself in a low voice. "Zheng can't be in love with me, all right?" she added. Then, there was a knock on the door, and she knows it's Wes. "Coming!" she shouted. 

As she opened the door, she saw Wes standing and smiling at her. "Good morning!" he greeted. As she looked at him, breeze blew around him. There was aglow of light surrounding him as he smiled at her. When he walked towards her, everything became slow motion. "Ready to go to school?" he asked her. 

Sylvia remained staring at him as she nodded her head. "Then, let's go." he said as he extended his hand to her. Absent-mindedly, she took his hand as she walked out of the door. "Let me carry your bag." Wes told her, as he took the bag from her shoulder. Sylvia remained staring at her. "This is one of the signs, right?" she thought. 

Wes looked at Sylvia, and noticed she was staring at him. "Anything wrong?" he asked worriedly. Sylvia shook her head. "N-nothing. I... I'm still sleepy." she lied. Wes let out a laugh. "Then you need to drink coffee later." he told her. As they walked towards the school, Wes held her hand. 

"He held my hand!" She exclaimed at her thoughts. "He never usually do this, right? Why is he suddenly holding my hand?" she asked herself. She was deep in her thoughts, when she saw Wes raise his arm in front of her. "You're absent minded. You almost hit this post." he told her.  

She looked at the post, and saw that she was inches away from it. Her cheeks turned red after realizing what just happened. Then, she heard Wes laugh. She looked at him with confusion written in her face. "You look cute when you blush." he told her. 

Then, her heart began to pound loudly.
