Prompt: goblin!au kyungsoo is the goblin and baekhyun as the grim reaper

Note: master coconut decided it won’t be canon to the series. Master coconut loves the series too much and the coco doesn’t want to touch that. Some events might be similar because duh this is goblin!au for a reason, but the relationship dynamics and plot backstory will be all made by moi. I am fab (remember that, hoomans.)

The door opens and there stood the reaper with raging eyes. Kyungsoo only stares at him unfazed. Standing in front of the big window at his study, he somehow sensed that the reaper is coming. He folds his arms and raised his brows.

“What brings you here, love?” He smirks. “Ready to declare you undying love for me?”

“You know something.” The reaper seethes. “And you’re hiding it from me.”

“Of course, I know something.” Kyungsoo shrugs. “I know everything. Do you want me to tell you what my underwear color is?”

“Tell me!”

The books fell on the shelves around him but the goblin doesn’t look intimidated. “You really want to know your past, reaper?” He shakes his head. “What’s the use of knowing if you’re living here in the present? Everything has a reason. And the goddess has one when she decided to wipe yours.”

“I don’t care.” The reaper scowls. “I want to know the reason why my head is feeling this indescribable pain when I see that woman.” His scowl deepened. “That woman you set up with another man. You knew that she’s connected with me and yet you made me witness that! I want to know why you did that?! I want to know everything!”

Kyungsoo stares at the reaper and sighs. He knew this was coming. He just didn’t realize it’d be sooner.

“I have known you… way before you were a reaper, reaper.” Kyungsoo whispers.

Everything suddenly turned white around them, the floors disappear like particles and dusts until they were standing in nothingness. The goblin stares at him solemnly as everything around materializes into a place unfamiliar to him.

There was the woman and she’s walking alongside himself. Instead of the jet-black hair he’s sporting today, his hair color is brown. His tastes in clothes is colorful unlike his where the only choices are either black or gray. The reaper follows his gaze at them quietly.

“If she’s a girl, I want to name her after that cute actress.” His other self said with a smile. “Byun Boyoung.” He wiggles his fingers. “How did that sound?”

The woman cringes. “And if he’s a boy?”

“Byun… Sehun.” He claps his hand and did a fist pump. “Now how does that sound?”

The woman smiles upon hearing this and holds her stomach. “Well, I hope this little pea is a boy then because there is no way in hell am I ever going to name our baby after that girl at Werewolf Boy.”

After that, everything disappeared again slowly…

The reaper looks at the goblin. “That woman and I… were expecting a baby.” In disbelief, he mutters. “So we were married in our past life.”

“You were.” Kyungsoo nods. “And you three were a happy bunch. To tell you the truth, I was a close family friend.”

“Y-You what?”

Everything materializes again and this time, they were in a small living room. There was a little boy in the middle of the living room, all surrounded by pillows and soft plushies so that he won’t hurt himself. “It’s a boy…” The reaper whispers. “Sehun?”

“Sehun-ah!” His other version calls and he’s got the biggest smile ever. “Sehun-ah, guess who’s here!”

Sehun flails his little hands in the air and gurgles happily when he sees the figure behind his father. The reaper’s eyes went wide in disbelief.

“It’s your Uncle Kyungsoo!”

“Hey, little guy.” Kyungsoo approaches the kid and bends down to holds tiny hands that immediately wrapped around his fingers. “I’ve missed you so much! Did you miss Uncle Soo when I was gone?” Sehun giggles. “Aw, yes you do. You missed me lots, don’t you?”

“Ah, you’re spoiling him, I swear.”

“Mira.” Kyungsoo smiles at the woman who approaches his other self. She gives him a kiss on the cheek and places her hand on his chest. Then she gives Kyungsoo a smile. “It’s been so long since I last saw Sehun… cut me some slack, won’t you?”

“By the way, we’re going out drinking tonight, Soo and I.” His other self grins. “Can I…?”

“Fine.” She chuckles and pats his chest a little harder than before. Her husband feigns hurt dramatically. “Just get this guy home safely okay, Kyungsoo? I’m counting on you.”

“Aye, aye, captain.”

Everything suddenly went dark. They’re in a small dark room. The goblin still looks solemn and his eyes staring ahead with no emotions. Before the reaper could utter a word, the door suddenly opens and two bodies attached to each stagger backwards. Their lips are attached, hands all over each other as deep and heavy breaths were heard in the background. When the lights and the door slammed shut, his eyes went wide.

It was his him and the goblin. And they were kissing.

His face is flushed red and his fingers fumbling on the buttons of Kyungsoo’s shirt as the latter nips and bites his lower lip aggressively. He moans softly after their lips disconnect.

The reaper can’t believe what he’s seeing. They were looking at each other like they’re the only people in the world. Lips swollen and cheeks red, they continue kissing until his other self’s back is against the soft hotel bed. But after a few more kisses, as if the spell is broken, Kyungsoo stood up and backs away.

“W-We shouldn’t be doing this.”

“W-What?” He scoffs a laugh and sits up. “What are you -“ He grabs the end of Kyungsoo’s shirt and tugs him. “Come on. Stop playing around.” He grins.

“Wake up!” Kyungsoo shakes his head. “You’re – You’re married.” He runs his fingers through his raven hair. “You have Mira and you have Sehun. This… This needs to stop.”

“Why are you saying this now?” His other self is livid. “We’ve been in a relationship for years. You know I only married Mira because my parents want me to. Are you being insecure again? Kyungsoo, come on…” He stands up and holds Kyungsoo’s hand. “It’s you… It’s just you, I swear.”

“Baekhyun, stop!”

The reaper stiffens. Baekhyun?

Baekhyun furrows his brows. “Kyungsoo, why are you –“

“This… this is wrong.” Kyungsoo whispers. “So wrong and yet, I can’t stop… loving you. Why?” Thinking that this is another one of those insecure episodes, Baekhyun cups his face and thumbs his cheeks. Kyungsoo closes his eyes and savors the feeling.

“I never should have fell in love with a human.” He whispers.

Time stops and a shadow reformed into a human – a reaper stepped forward. Baekhyun’s eyes went wide, completely confused and scared. “K-Kyungsoo, what’s going on?”

“I love you, Baek.” Kyungsoo whispers. “But this had to be done.”

Everything disappears again and they were once again left with nothing. The reaper – wait no… his name is Byun Baekhyun and he’s a married man with a son named Sehun. He looks at his shaking palms and then slowly looks at the goblin. So in his past life, the goblin turned out to be the love of his life…
