Some sort of sequel to the prompt 5

It wasn’t always rainbows and flowers in Kyungsoo’s life in the Byun pack. He endured a lot of pain and sacrifice, forced to lower his pride and despite being a black wolf himself, was treated even lower than soil itself. He took all of those just for the sake of someone he just met and yet claims to be his “destined mate.”

“Father, I don’t think this is right.”

“Nonsense.” Pack Alpha glowers over Kyungsoo. “If he is willing to be your mate, then he should agree to this condition. Our goal is to preserve the lineage. If he is my supposed successor, then he will accept.”

Kyungsoo is beyond conflicted. Changing his surname to Byun will not only damage his pride as an alpha but it will also tarnish his family name. He honors the surname Do as they are the first family to fight back the black wolves regime despite being ones themselves. The Do’s were heroes - legends.

They all know this - Baekhyun knows this. And the beta expects for Kyungsoo to back out of the whole mating agreement, but Kyungsoo nods, surprising them both and the pack advisers.

“If it is the only way to be with your son then I accept.” Kyungsoo answers. “But despite being a Byun, it will never change the fact that I am a Do and that my family’s blood is running through my veins.”

Baekhyun might or might not have fallen a little bit in love with his mate then.

Another blow he received was when Chanyeol, future breeding alpha, managed to humiliate him in front of everyone. He doesn’t know why the alpha hated him so much then but when he heard about him being one of Baekhyun’s former suitors, he understands.

Kyungsoo wanted to join the hunt before winter strikes, but Chanyeol, being his former prideful self, cheated and made him look like a clumsy wolf that can’t handle being on the wild (despite him spending his whole life there.)

“It’s okay.” Baekhyun cups his cheek. “You can join next season’s hunt.”

But he was banned for hunt and was forced to do manual labor instead like a pack’s slave. And it went on for 2 years.

Everytime, he was tempted to run and leave. But Baekhyun was pregnant with his pups and it was something that he doesn’t want to do. But what else can he do? The pack leader hated him, the pack alphas think he’s a joke and wolves look at him in disgust, often questioning what made Baekhyun decide for him to be his mate.

It all changes, however, when during the pack’s hunt, a rival pack decided to ambush the remaining wolves in their territory. And it just so happens that the only alphas left in there are Chanyeol, he and Kris.

“We’re never gonna make it.” Kris breaths, panting hard. “I sent a distress signal. They haven’t responded.”

“, this is bad.” Chanyeol groans.

They were all injured because 15 alphas vs 3 is a dire situation. But then when Kyungsoo witnessed a savage alpha drag his pregnant mate out of hiding and forced him in submission, Kyungsoo’s vision went red and he was forced to shift in his wolf form - something that he’s against at - and went rampage mode.

Like the tales, a black wolf’s strength is something not to joke about. If he wants to kill you, you will not be spared. And that was what happened that day.
