It was five years when the Do’s moved in to the condominium under theirs.

Baekhyun remembers flashing a wide grin upon seeing Minseok and Kyungsoo, a family friend of Jongdae upon opening the door. Jongdae and Kyungsoo were college buddies and Minseok used to be his study partner so seeing them again after 8 years of college graduation filled him with memories of what used to be the most beautiful ones in his perspective.

He remembers meeting his husband then. They were both in their junior year in college. He met him during that time Minseok invited him to their frat party. He felt lost and alone then because he’s stuck in there in the sea of bodies since Minseok suddenly decided to ditch him so that he could fool around with his then boyfriend, Kyungsoo, upstairs. But if he wasn’t alone then, he probably wouldn’t have met Jongdae. Also known as the guy who threw up on his expensive shirt.

“Oh, god. 8 years has passed and yet you still have narrow shoulders.” Jongdae yelped when Kyungsoo hits his arm.

“What did you even see in him?” Kyungsoo asked to Baekhyun. Minseok and he laughs.

Routines changed between the two couples.

Every Friday, the four would enjoy a meal out in some fancy restaurant, catching up to good memories. Sometimes on days off, Minseok and Baekhyun would go out and do the groceries while their husbands were at work working their asses off. Sometimes, Jongdae and Kyungsoo would go out drinking with their respective partners and enjoy life as they did during their college days. It was blissful and amazing and everything was suddenly falling into place.

But good times never last long.

Baekhyun flinches when he hears the door at the unit under them slam shut. “What’s happening to them? I always hear them fighting nowadays. I wonder if something happened.” He sighs. “I hope they are okay.”

Jongdae takes a deep breath and shrugs. “Who knows?” He keeps his eyes trained on his laptop. Baekhyun chuckles softly at the sight and moves in to wrap his arms around his husband’s torso only to be harshly pulled away. “Baekhyun, I’m working. Stop distracting me.”

Baekhyun’s eyes went wide before it melted into a pained look. “I’m sorry.”

To be honest, it wasn’t only their friends downstairs were having problems.

Baekhyun felt lost and under a lot of stress that time. Not only work were piling up but it’s because of his husband’s cold treatment to him. He doesn’t understand why Jongdae would shrug him off and treat him like this. As a matter of fact, Jongdae used to be so sweet and clingy. But now, he doesn’t even acknowledge him whenever they were alone together. It greatly confused him.

But after seeing his husband and Minseok share a passionate kiss at the hotel lobby everything came crashing down on Baekhyun.

He was driving home that night from work when he happened to pass by the hotel that Jongdae and he celebrated during their first anniversary in marriage. To save his cold marriage, he thinks that maybe all they need is a spark that might reignite their growing romance. So Baekhyun jumped off his car and plans on booking a room and a reserved table at their usual spot for tomorrow evening only to stop midway at the sight that greeted him.
