SOMIN’s POV:

“What do you mean Somin?” Jihoo’s alarmed voice penetrated through my soul. I looked up at him to find him looking at me intently. He was tried to keep his face normal but the anxiety he felt was clearly reflected. I remembered Hyunjoong’s impassive look then turned again to Jihoo. Do I want him to feel the same about me too? What’s more,could I bear it? Jihoo has become a great friend of mine—probably one of the best one I have so far. I cant lose him! But then again if I keep him in the dark wont it be cheating? Ottoke!

My phone suddenly started ringing. I heard a low chuckle from Jihoo as I searched the bag for my phone.

“Why is he smirking? Here I am baffling my heart and mind on what to do and here he is laughing his way to glory! Ridiculous” I scowled as I searched my bag. Finally I found the damn little thing and saw it was Granny calling

“De haraomoni” I answered quickly

“Where are you dear? Still at shoot?” Granny said

“Ani. We got off early today. I’m with Jihoo right now. We’re on our way home”

“Kure. Come home soon dear. We need to talk”

“Okay”. I shut the phone and looked at it. What does granny wants to talk about?

Author’s POV:

“Still digging Lucky Guy huh?” Jihoo’s voice pulled Somin out of her train of thoughts. When she looked at him he had his eyes narrowed and his face looked very mischievous

“Kureso?” Somin cried sticking out her tongue

“Ani nothing” Jihoo chuckledand turned to look infront “That dog sure is a lucky guy” Jihoo mumbled wrinkling his and gripping the wheel tightly

“What did you say?” Somin inquired cocking her head to one side

“Let’s get you home” Jihoo said starting the engine and headed towards Somin’s house

When they finally reached, Somin bid her farewell and opened the door to get out. But just when she was about to step out Jihoo called out to her. Somin left the door and shifted in her seat to face him again.

 “You didn’t explain your stement” Jihoo stated in a low tone,his eyes fixed on her

Somin froze—she knew what statement he meant. But she hadn’t decided on whether she wanted to confess. Her confession about the love game distanced her from hyunjoong for what seemed like forever and now she didn’t want to lose Jihoo too. Finally she decided not to tell him. After all what good would that do anyway!

Somin let out a sigh and said,“It’s just that Haera isn’t completely wrong…Hyunjoong broke up with her for me afterall! So she has a right to say..”

“No she doesn’t.” Jihoo protested strongly. “ True love cant be hampered by anyone or anything. You love Hyunjoong truly and he you—that’s the only reason why things happened the way they did!”

Somin was taken aback by his statement. True love? She truly loves him but what about Hyunjoong? His confession,was it really a true love confession? Or just the expected reaction of the love game?

“Somin…listen here….” Jihoo tried to explain as he saw doubt waving in Somin’s eyes “even if you tried something like Haera accused you of…..it wouldn’t have changed anything”

Somin narrowed her eyes and tilted her head in confusion

“How can you say that?” she asked

Jihoo chuckled and looked away at his hand placed on the steering wheel “Cause that’s the incredible power of true love”

“You’re just making up stuff to console me” Somin looked away,a sad sarcastic smile on her face

“No I’m not!” Jihoo desperately protested. He couldn’t stand seeing Somin so miserable “Look at me! My own sister told me that you were plotting against her—that you wanted to steal away her boyfriend. But still here I am today standing against my own sister and siding with you! I tried to loathe you, hurt you but it all were in vain and now I’m…” Jihoo trailed off. He really wanted to tell Somin—confess to her that inspite of all the adversities he has fallen in love with her.But he couldn’t. He shut his eyes tightly and exhaled

“Somin…” he continued after a long pause “Nothing can separate true lovers. If Hyunjoong and Haera’s love was true then it’d bring them back together eventually. Since it hasn’t it means that they were just not meant to be. Destiny plays its own games! Nothing can keep away 2 lovers that are fated to be together…so don’t blame yourself”

Jihoo looked at Somin. She had her head bowed,her hair fell forward clouding her face. But Jihoo didn’t need to see her face to know that she was crying. He caressed her head and Somin raised her head slightly and looked at him with teary eyes. When their eyes met, Jihoo leaned forward and kissed her forehead. Somin smiled slightly and got out of the car.

As Jihoo drove out he saw Somin getting into her house from the rearview mirror. As he watched he felt a stabbing pain in his heart

“Gosh I love her so much!” he exhaled and a teardrop escaped his eyes.
