Love Game
“Here you go” Youngsaeng handed Hyunjoong a glass of brandy. They were sitting in the hall by the fireplace and Hyunjoong had wrapped himself in a blanket but was still shivering. Hyunjoong narrated all that happened that day—his kiss with Somin,how he broke up with Haera,how he rushed to Somin and confessed but she refused.
“Ha! Finally you heard what your heart wants!” Youngsaeng said merrily as he took a sip of brandy himself
Hyunjoong let out a low mocking chuckle.”yea I did but what’s the use I’m late. She hates me and wont take me. Moreover she probably likes Haera’s brother. I have no chance now”
“Hyung! It’s never too late! Fight for her! She loves you….don’t let your love go away like that. FIGHT!”
Hyunjoong took his hand in his “Are you sure I have a chance?”
Youngsaeng placed his hand over Hyunjoong’s and beamed at him.
“Somin!” Grandma Jung rushed over to her granddaughter as soon as she entered; “Where did you go off to—“ but then her eyes went to the car going out of their driveway.
“Hyunjoong?” Granny asked raising her eyebrows
Somin nodded.
“What did that boy want now? That stupid idiot!” Granny went on but Somin quietly turned and caught the last glimpse of Hyunjoong driving away as she closed the door.
“I am going to sleep granny” Somin said in a low tone and turned to go but granny held her hand.
“I’m sorry dear….what did he have to say ?”
Somin kept on staring at the ground and then quietly whispered, “He proposed”
“WHAT?! To you? What about Haera then?”
“He broke up with her”
Granny couldn’t believe what she was hearing. The story had taken a big turn and it was too much for her to handle.
“I’m sleepy granny. Goodnight” she kissed granny goodnight and went off to her room.But obviously she couldn’t sleep. Hyunjoong’s words kept on rewinding in her head as tears rolled down from her eyes. She sat up in her bed—she didn’t feel like sleeping.She took out her cell.
Jihoo just got out of shower when he heard his phone beep. He opened his cell to find a new message
‘I had a great time too—Somin’
Jihoo smiled looking at the text. He remembered their date and the mushroom ravioli incident which sent a shiver down his spine
‘I am glad but what u doing up dis late? Having mushroom ravioli or what?--Jihoo’
Jihoo had just unwrapped the towel from his waist and was about to put on his pajamas when his phone vibrated again. He put it on and grabbed his phone.
‘Why you want another show of my fake ? ;) –Somin’
Jihoo was stunned by her boldness—he gulped nervously. He had no idea how to respond. Thankfully Somin texted again and diverted the topic
‘Hyunjoong came over—Somin’
Blood boiled inside Jihoo when Hyunjoong was mentioned—he hated him! He was the cause of his sister’s heartbreak plus he knew he was the one inside Somin’s heart as well—the girl he loves. Suddenly his phone started to ring. He looked down to find Somin’s name flashing on the screen
“Hey” Somin said softly from the other side. All the anger,loathe,hatred inside him just evaporated as soon as Jihoo heard her sweet voice.
“Hi” Jihoo sighed as he sat down on his bed. They was a long pause as neither of them knew what to say. Finally Somin gathered the courage and asked,”Is Haera okay?”
“Mmm” Jihoo responded softly
“I’m sorry”
“Mmm”
“Jihoo please! Say something!” Somin yelled
“What did he say to you?” Jihoo sighed
Somin wanted him to speak but now she didn’t know what to say. What could she say? That Hyunjoong dumped his sister and came and proposed to her?
“He confessed to you right?” Jihoo suddenly said which shocked Somin. She felt a lump in prohibiting her to speak.Jihoo understood her silence.
“It’s getting late. Go to sleep or else Dong Sun-nim will turn you into ‘spotgal’ again!” Jihoo tried to laugh but his pain was easily understood by Somin.
“Okay goodnight.”
Though they bid their farewell neither of them hang up nor did any of them spoke. They just listened to each other’s silence. Finally Jihoo said,”Bye then”
“Jihoo listen!” Somin suddenly cried
“Hmm?”
“I didn’t say yes….to him” Somin said hesitantly
“Goodnight zombie AD” Jihoo said as alight smile formed on his face. Jihoo hung up but kept on looking at his phone. “I love you Somin” he sighed
“SOMIN! Breakfast’s ready! Hurry up or you’ll be late!” Granny cried
Somin hurriedly came out all dressed and quickly munched onto her breakfast. Soon she was done and was gathering her things when a car honked loudly. Granny went to the door to find Hyunjoong outside.
“Is somin ready? I came to pick her up” he asked softly
Just when Granny was about to snap back at him a van entered the driveway. The door slid open and Jungmin came out dancing from it “Is Somin ready? We’re here to pick her up” The rest of the SSboys waved at granny and then they noticed Hyunjoong and their jaws drop. But again before anybody could say anything a white bike came in. Somin got out just in time to see Jihoo take out his helmet and smile at her brilliantly.
“Hey zombie AD! Hope you got some sleep cause we’ve to leave now. Palli khaja!”
“Mmm” Somin nodded and sat on his bike. The duo drove off leaving the great SS501 behind with their jaws dropped to the floor
Somin and Jihoohad a joyful ride to the studio. Jihoo and Somin were so comfortable with each other…they never failed to make each other smile.
Finally they reached the studio all smiling!
Jessica and Dong Sun turned when they heard their melodious laughter echo throughout the studio.
“They look so good together” Jessica smiled as she them coming.
“Mmm” Dong Sun couldn’t help but agree more. He was really happy to see the smile on Somin’s face.
“Aigoo!” Jessica pulled Dong Sun to face her “Why did Jihoo have to make such a decision when they finally got this comfortable”
“ Umm really its unfortunate that Jihoo has to leave” Dong Sun sighed
“WHAT?!”
The shout surprised both Dong Sun and Jessica. They flipped around to find a totally shocked Somin staring back at them. Dong Sun and Jessica were too stunned to respond so Somin forcibly shook Jessica’s hand and cried “Unnie what is all this about Jihoo leaving?”
