DING - DONG

Jihoo rang the bll and waited in anticipation. He saw Somin's grandma peek out from behind as she opened the door for him. "Anneoyong haseyo haraemoni" he bowed and climbed the porched stairs "I came to meet Jandi--" But as the entire living room came into his view Jihoo was surprised to find SSboys along with Dong Sun, Jessica staring up at him blankly. Jihoo didnt expect to see all of them here and he was definitely not ready to face them, specially DongSun since he hadnt informed him that he had come back."Hi guys.." he waved hesitantly but as he assessed the room, he could understand that though they were shocked to see him there, their faces were clouded with a different concern

"What are you doing here?" DongSun rose and charged at him.

"Don't worry dont't worry I wrapped up everything in Australia" Jihoo blurted out and DongSun's charging steps became less fierce "It's all okay" he reassured

"Still what are you doing here?" Jessica rose

"I..umm...I...ah..." Jihoo couldnt gather his thoughts to form a sentence that would make his reason sound less embarrassing.Finally he gave in and started in a rushed manner,"I always felt guilty for dropping Jandi off the team unannounced like that...and then she called me...she  knew..she knew...that I was working on it alone...but she still called to check if I told her the truth...but I didnt...and she wished me luck nonetheless...I felt miserable...and I came to apologize...and maybe convince you all to take her back too maybe" he finally finished and caught up on his breath

Jessica came and patted his back in consolation as DongSun looked at him sympathetically.

"So that's probably why she.." HyungJun suddenly rose up dramatically

Everyone looked up at him and realizing that he was hinting at Jandi's sudden decision to leave, they all nodded in unison.

"But you cant really blame me for his guys!" DongSun suddenly felt guilty sensing that he was probably the reason why Jandi's leaving

"Hold on! What are you guys saying!" Jihoo looked desperately at everyone "What did she do?"

Hyunjoong had been leaning against the opposite wall, attentively listening to the whole story. At Jihoo's question he shifted his weight "Jandi's leaving...for Busan...now" he said waving his hand ignorantly at the door of Somin's room behind him.

Jihoo followed Hyunjoong's direction and finally saw Somin's door which was slightly open through which he could see movement happening from inside the room. Without a word,  he swept past everyone in the direction of Somin's room. Everyone was shocked at his hastened motion

"What is this bull that I am hearing?!" Jihoo charged into the room as Jandi was gathering her things. Jandi,dazed, couldnt help but stare.Jihoo rushed and closed the distance between them and grasped her elbow "You're leaving?"

"Umm..de" Jandi said drawing her eyes away. She didnt think Jihoo would appear like this so suddenly. It was difficult for her as it is and his appearance just made things tougher.

"Wae?" Jihoo made her look at her. He felt betrayed and guilty at the same time. Betrayed because he didnt think Jandi will take such a step without telling him; if he hadnt come today he probably would have never met her again--the prospect was unnerving. Guilty because he felt somewhere at fault for her sudden departure--maybe him joining the project without her had pushed her over the edge. But more than anything he felt one thing that he couldnt let Jandi leave.

Somin audibly cleared which made Jihoo leave her elbow and put some distance between their bodies. But the anger in him didnt rest and it boiled further as he noticed Somin was standing infront of what was evidently Jandi's bag "You're helping her pack?" he charged at Somin

"Jihoo, she wants to leave" Somin said timidly

"And you were letting her?"

"Then what else should we do? " Somin cried "She doesnt want to stay; we cant force her"

Jihoo knew what Somin was saying was completely true. He, himself, was desperately fishing for a reason to make her stay and it frustrated him that he couldnt find one.

"You're not going anywhere" he looked back at Jandi before charging towards her bag "you are still weak, you need rest" he said taking the things out from her bag

"I DON'T ING NEED REST!" she yelled Jihoo, Somin paused at Jandi's sudden outcry. Jandi heard rushed footsteps coming from the living room and finally halting at the doorstep. She felt pathetic for treating them this way but it couldnt be helped--she just couldnt bear it anymore. She sighed and continued in a pleading voice "Please let me go back...go back to my life..I just cant.." she wanted to say alot-but couldnt. She wanted to say she couldnt bear to see the way they looked at her; the pity that plunged from their eyes--it was too much.

"Jandi" a soft voice called out from behind her. Jandi breathed out and turned around to find SeJung coming out from the crowd gathered at the doorstep. "Dont worry you'll be going home." she patted  her head softly. Hyunjoong had arranged for the car--it's parked in the driveway.

"And if you're not ok with that I can always take you home Monkey" a manly voice echoed from behind sending a chill down her spine. She hadnt been call that in so long...cause there was only one person who called her that; rather who was allowed to call her that. She tilted her head sideways trying to get a glimpse of the person. SeJung stepped sideways to reaveal and as soon as she saw him Jandi brought his hands to cover to prevent herself from shrieking out

"JinHyuk walked across the room and caressed her head "How are you, monkey?"

"Oppa..." Jandi managed to say, tears glistening in the corners of her eyes

"It's been a while" JinHyuk said kindly

Everyone watched in awe as the impossibly stubborn Jandi froma few minutes ago was so quietly standing infront of this man, who they had no clue about

"Umm...can we just rewind here abit?" Hyungjun finally asked the question everyone wanted to ask but was afraid of the reciprocations

"Umm...this is...this is" SeJung tried but she too was shocked like everyone else. She didnt have time to introduce her supervisor to everyone since they heard Jandi's yell as soon as they entered but seeing JinHyuk like this with Jandi was not something she was expecting. Yes JinHyuk was charming; she had seen the nurses giggle uncontrollably when he wished them goodmorning and goodnight but she didnt expect Jandi to be the giggling girly types.

JinHyuk wrapped one arm around Jandi's shoulders and turned around. "Hi everyone I am Choi JinHyuk.I am the Sr. Consulting Neurosurgeon at Baekje Hospital" Everyone greeted him half heartedly, he understood that wasnt the answer they were really looking for. He smiled and turned to seJung "You remember the dongsaeng I mentioned, the one for whom I took up medicine in the first place" he raised his eyebrows and then turned to beam at Jandi "Well she's the one" The blush on Jandi's face was evident to everyone and they were glad they found their old Jandi back.

"So how's everything up here monkey?" JinHyuk tapped on her head

"Well you're the neuro--whatever, you tell me" Jandi said blushing

JinHyuk pressed his ear at one side of Jandi's head while he lightly tapped on the other side. "Hollow and empty as always" he joked and Jandi giggled and hit him playfully

Everyone watched in relief as they found Jandi going back to her jolly self again. Everyone except Jihoo who grunted in disgust as the duo teased each other. Thankfully he was only audible to Somin who was standing right next to him.

"Jandi should we get your checkup done now? You wanted to leave for Busan right?" SeJung said and for the first time Jihoo noticed Jandi's face look disappointed about the prospect of returning. SeJung carried out her routine checkup while JinHyuk and the others looked on.

"Well she's completely fine as expected" SeJung announced, getting the nod of approval from JinHyuk

"Is she fit for travel?" Hyunjoong asked concerned

"She is fit to run in an Olympic race now Hyunjoong" SeJung said rolling her eyes. "Remember what I told you about epilepsy, guys"

"It's not a stigma...so please stop treating it like one" JinHyuk turned to face them and then walked back to sit on the bed beside Jandi "I personally feel epileptic people are lucky." she beamed at Jandi making Jihoo release another low disgruntled noise "Normal people like us...we dont have control over our brain. We cant stop it even if we want it to...it's always running, even when we are asleep. But these little angels...their brains can doze off and can take a power nap if they want"

"So what you're saying is her attack is actually her brain taking a nap" HyungJun asked innocently

"Yep exactly!" he nodded knowingly "It just takes a nap and when it wakes up its all refreshed just like we are after our naps" he explained "Yes right after the so-called attack they seem abit unco-ordinated and dont remember everything properly but arent we also like that right after we wake up?"

Everyone was in awe and were now viewing epilepsy in a very different light.

"Infact they say epileptic patients are much sharper than the rest of us."

"Wow! that's interesting!" everyone cried

"So stop being paranoid about Jandi! She's so fit she can infact beat you in Badook right now isnt it?" he turned to Jandi, who smiled gleefully

"Say..do you want my famous head massage? The one you used to give you when you were young?"

"Yes please" Jandi cried in a shrill voice expected from a teenager meeting her idol

"Okay..guys could guys leave us alone and dim the lights?"

"WHAT?!" Jihoo cried this time loud enough for everyone to hear. He consciously looked at everyone who were all now staring at him "Why? I meant ..why do you need us to leave...and the lights..wh-why-why?"

"Well first of all, and I dont want to be rude about this,but your prescence hasnt really helped her. Secondly she needs to relax for the massage and I dont think I have to explain that how she cant do so if you're all crowding here. And the dim lights will enhance her relaxation.." JinHyuk said strenly. He identified Jihoo to be the careless biker they had passed and moreover he made Jandi yell in exasperation when he arrived...so consequently he didnt held him in a good light. The feeling was mutual since Jihoo also didnt like him being so close and friendly with Jandi and not to mention Jandi's reactions to him fuelled his angst further. Okay he was handsome, charming and an established neurosurgeon in one of the best hospitals in South Korea...so what?

"Jihoo let's go" Somin nudged him and he started walking away unwillingly

"DongSun?" Jessica said as she saw him standing rooted to his spot while others started walking away. Dong Sun looked at Jessica once before walking across the room to sit at the edge of Jandi's bed. Everyone had halted in their position but Jessica notioned everyone to leave to let DongSun talk to Jandi alone

"Jandiya.." DongSun said once everyone left. He didnt look at her directly; he felt ashamed to do so. "I am sorry for what I've done" he gulped "I promised you but I didnt fulfill it...please forgive me."

"Sunbae please no...you did what was right for your work" Jandi said reaching out for his hand

"Yes right for my work but not right as a person" DongSun said "I know I have broken your heart and you dont probably trust me anymore but you can come join us even now...and I assure you this is not out of pity or guilt..you are good, I can sense that"

Jandi beamed

"Dont worry...she forgives you...Monkey cant really stay angry for long" JinHyuk prsesed her shoulders

"So will you join?"

"I'll think about it" Jandi said and DongSun's face lit up "after I reach Busan" she finished and DongSun's smile faded. He nodded sadly and left

"So monkey relax now...I'll dim the lights" JinHyuk rose to get the lights as Jandi laid down closing her eyes. As he was about to reach for the lights Jihoo suddenly arrived and placed his hand over the light switch "I'll do it"

"Do you wanna stay?" JinHyuk asked, alittle irritated. Jihoo couldnt believe he was allowing him to stay. "It's better than you lurking in the shadows and giving her a heartattack"

Jihoo felt embarrassed but nodded and took a nearby seat as JinHyuk went back to Jandi
