Author’s POV:

Considering that out of everyone that Jessica had met up with today didn’t tell her exactly what Kris was planning, Jessica’s heart pounded in anticipation and her tummy did somersaults as she stepped inside the grand lobby holding eleven roses in her hand.

Just when she thought she’d get lost, Jessica spotted a pink card propped up on the front desk. Seeing that the employees from the front desk were busy, Jessica slipped by and took the card herself. Standing off next to a pillar in the lobby, she then stopped walking to take a look at the card.

Meet me in the garden. Don’t get lost~

Smiling, Jessica slipped the card into her bag before walking around to find the way to the garden. Seeing a small sign hanging from above, she followed the way where it pointed to the garden. As soon as she spotted a grand door open and seeing the green garden outside, she knew she was there. Walking up, she realized there was a sign propped up in front of the door. Garden is reserved – no trespassing with the exception of Jessica Jung.

Jessica’s eyes widened at the sign. Reserved? Did that mean that Kris reserved the whole garden for the night? To think that Kris forgot about their anniversary would be a false accusation. The man paid to reserve the whole garden in one of Seoul’s grandest hotels!

Taking in a shaky breath, Jessica couldn't help but feel nervous. Stepping into the garden, she was met with a wide grassy road. Following it, she was met with a pink card when there was an intersection, dividing the road. It was a garden maze and Jessica hoped that the pink card Kris left had directions on it.

Follow your heart and bring yourself to me. I know you can do it, Jess. I’ll be waiting for you at the end of the maze.

Pouting, she glanced from her left to her right. There were no clues whatsoever. Only the color of the green bushes and grass surrounding her. Looking up at the sky, Jessica realized that it was going to get dark pretty soon. If she wanted to reach Kris at the end, she needed to move quick.

Looking at both of the paths, she saw that they were identical. She ended up using her senses. Sniffing, she wondered if she could pick up Kris’s scent. Relying on her nose, she chose to go to the right. Walking down the path, she continued following the way of the road, hoping she made the right decision until she was met with another obstacle.

Glancing both ways, she saw that there was a bush, snipped out in a shape of a fish on the left side. It was beautiful work, but that also told Jessica which way to go. Kris hated fish, so the right side was the way to go.

Skipping her way, she was faced with another obstacle. This time it was three options of roads. Thankfully, Kris helped her this time and left cards on each of the pathways, but there were no clues or questions. Just names. SeHun, Tao, Chanyeol were labeled individually on one card. Jessica looked at the names, eying them.

Instinctively, she chose the middle road Tao’s card was sitting at. As she kept walking, she felt like the maze was long and never-ending. She couldn’t look to the side as she was surrounded by the tall green and precisely cut bushes. Jessica could only look in front, behind or up to see something different. At this point, she could see the sky getting darker and darker. Picking up her pace, she continued walking. There seemed to be no end as she felt like she was walking in circles with nothing different from the green settings. Continuing to stride her way forward, she kept her hopes high, clutching onto the eleven roses in her arms tighter.

Seeing a dim light being reflected on the green bush, Jessica knew she was close. Just a turn away and she would make her way out of the maze. Her heart started to pound relentlessly and a huge smile made their way onto her lips. Her pace picked up, making her way towards the exit. Just as she turned the corner, she froze in place, face completely in awe.

There, standing in front of her was a stunning Kris in a black and white tuxedo, a skinny black tie, hair done in a cool fashion, and most importantly, holding the twelfth red rose in his hand to complete Jessica’s dozen of roses in her arms.

Kris’s eyes lit up when he saw his Jessica appear in front of him. She looked absolutely stunning and beautiful, just how she always is in his eyes. Kris gave her a soft smile as he watched her gaze at him cutely.

Jessica’s lips curled into a cheerful smile before she ran into her Kris’s arms, without a care in the world that the roses in her arms fell to her feet when she wrapped her arms around Kris.

Wrapping his arms around her as well, Kris embraced her warmth and scent before picking her up off her feet and spinning her around. He waited all day for her, wanting to hold her in his arms, to cuddle up to her, to kiss her, ever since the morning. Kris had to restrain himself from staying with her and get up this morning before Jessica woke up.

“Happy Anniversary, babe.” Kris smiled as he pinned his forehead onto hers.

Jessica’s cheeks dawned in a crimson pink from Kris’s new nickname for her. “Happy Anniversary, Kris.” She managed to squeak out, regardless of her wildly thumping heart.

Meeting each other half way, their lips connected together, igniting every spark in each others body. It just felt right. After a whole day of missing each others presence, they couldn’t be any happier to be together at last. It was true, the two can’t stand a day without each other.

Once they pulled away, Kris grinned as he lifted up the twelfth rose to her, completing her bouquet of red roses. Jessica held onto it with a smile on her face as Kris picked up the dropped roses on the floor for her.

Interlocking their hands together, Kris started to lead her towards another part of the garden.

“You thought I forgot, didn’t you?” he gave a playful smirk towards her.

Jessica just nudged him with a pout, telling them that he was correct. “Who knew you were such a good actor?” she looked up at him with narrowed eyes.

Kris only chuckled. “I tried my best to make it a great surprise. Anything for my Aegi~” he grinned at her as she flushed.

As Kris was busily leading her, Jessica was asking questions in curiosity as she kept her eyes on him. There were so many things she wanted to know about this surprise that he had planned. Since when has he been planning it? How did he know that the cards wouldn’t get misread or taken by someone else?

Her questioning was halted when Kris stopped walking and smiled at her. She blinked a few times at him with her head tilted before she realized that they had ceased to walk any further. When Kris faced forward, Jessica slowly did the same.

Jessica’s jaw dropped, as she took in the scenery in complete awe. Placed in front of them was a small square table for two, covered in a white tablecloth. On top were utensils and plates set up along with wine glasses sitting off to the side. Completed with chairs tucked in neatly underneath the table. Of course, that was very romantic, but to add it further, the atmosphere was impeccable and private as well. Strung on top of them were lit light bulbs, giving it a glow to this certain part of the garden.

Frozen on the spot, Jessica was completely swept off her feet. She didn’t expect this at all. This was far from amazing. This was perfect.

Glancing up at Kris, Jessica’s face was filled with wonderment. She was at a complete loss for words. opened to say something, but she just couldn’t and returned to stare at the wonderful scene displayed in front of her.

Kris broke out in smiles at her adorable actions. Needless to say, he has succeeded in stunning Jessica, completely making her out of words. He’d have to remind himself to give himself a pat on the back for this wonderful accomplishment.

Guiding Jessica towards the table, he pulled the chair out for her to sit. He couldn’t help but grin when Jessica blankly sat down, still staring at her surroundings. Making his way around, he sat himself down in front of her, grabbing a shopping bag from underneath the table, he placed all the roses he had given her throughout the day, into it before placing it aside.

When he brought himself back up to the table, he noticed Jessica was still in a daze, glancing around at the amazing sight around her.

“Are the surroundings much more interesting than me?” Kris inquired, teasing her.

Jessica stopped her curious viewing and bit her lip in shyness. “Sorry~” She squeaked out cutely. “It’s really pretty here.” Her eyes wandered around again.

As her eyes roamed at the hovering lights, she took notice of the flowers and garden surrounding her. They seemed very deep into the garden, considering the fact that she couldn’t see a trace of outside behavior. She smiled when she finally saw rose petals scattered throughout the grass, making it extraordinarily perfect.

Jessica locked eyes with Kris for a moment before something popped in her head.

“Kris…” she narrowed her eyes at him.

Kris only arched his eyebrows and interlaced their fingers together over the table.

“How much did this cost?” Jessica questioned. Judging from her surroundings, she knew the price was high.

Kris gave nothing away. “Don’t worry about it.” he gave her a reassuring smile.

A frown appeared on her lips. “Kris, this must’ve cost too much.” Her eyebrows knitted into a worried look. “We could’ve just had a dinner at home. You didn’t have to do this.”

“You’re worrying about the cost of this when we’re supposed to be having an important anniversary.” He gave her an amused smile. “You don’t need to worry about the cost. Just enjoy it.” he gave her a gentle squeeze on her hand.
