Do you know him?

 

It rings once again in her ears.

 

It was only a yes or no answer. Nervousness took over her as she can’t longer open . 

The guy in front is not even helping for her; Yonghwa is grinning towards her, as if waiting for her to answer the two guys who just asked her.

 

With the beat of her heart, she knows it will take time for her to answer this question. If she’ll say ‘yes’, it should need some supporting details, and if no, she still need an excuse on why does the guy knows her, right?

 

Biting her lower up, she badly needs an encouragement to answer the growing questioning stare from her two guy friends. Her heart, it double it’s pace. Why can’t she answer right away? Without any lies? Can she?

 

Glancing to the grinning guy again, she formed a fist into her lap.

 

“Uh… “ she tried to answer.

 

“Hyunnie?” it was her boyfriend’s voice which filled her ears. It shivers her all of a sudden. How will she answer this without informing them? Without telling them, that the guy in front of them is apparently her student for her tutorials which happened to be a secret.

 

She got tongue tied.

In the Yonghwa's case, he was grinning devil in her place. He glances to every person to his side, as if wanting to see their reactions with this surprise information from his tutor.

 

Come on. He chanted silently, anticipating for the next words from the youngest.

Waiting silently too is Yul. Having been surprise to see another guest, he his self wanted an answer too. He had never seen this guy for his entire friendship with this younger girl. 

On the other hand, Yoong was somehow more surprise with this new guest. Didn’t he miss any kind of event from his girlfriend? he never saw him in his girlfriend’s house as well. Or he did miss this guy visiting his girlfriend? Could this be another suitor? He whishes not.

Judging from the looks and his clothes, he’s sure the latter isn’t just a flower delivery boy or something. There is something in the guy that he knows he should be aware of. In fact, it looks like the guy is staring lovingly to his girlfriend, how can he assumes that they are only relatives?

He’s still waiting for his girl to answer them. In that case, he can conclude the questions running through his head.

 

He observes as how those hands from his girl forming into fist and the way her lips move seems to be nervousness.

 

Why would she nervous?

After a while of fighting over her own mind, finally, the young brunette has decided to answer the questions.

 

She took a deep breath and…

 

“Oh my bad... where’s my manner. I’m Jung Yonghwa… hmm… Hyunnie’s—”

 

“He’s an old friend.” The younger quickly interrupted, noticing where those words will be heading.

 

Both Yoong and Yul arch a brow towards their friend. Old friend?

 

Yonghwa scoffs as he shook his head. He’s an old friend? Nice one. She’s really lying. In his thought. But I won’t going to let this chance a waste.

 

“Uh… Actually—“

 

“Uhmm… Yoong… Sunbae… Uh, he’s a childhood friend. That’s right, he-he is… “ quickly acting up, the young brunette then stood and pulled up the guy in his knees, cutting off his words

 

“Child hood friend? Oh... I see… Uh…” The doe-eyed guy nods in understanding. So that’s it, they’re friends, indeed. ”Im Yoong.” the doe-eyed guy then held out his hand for a handshake.

 

Yonghwa was left Flabbergasted  and couldn't utter any word.

 

“Sunbae?” The youngest arch a brow towards the tan guy, noticing the latter’s silence.

 

Yonghwa has then grin as he held out his hand towards the tan guy. “Hmm? And you are?”

 

“Yul… Kwon Yul, Hyunnie’s friend.” Yul decided to take the hand and shakes it.

 

Nodding, Yonghwa replied… “I see… But I you guys should know I am—OUCH!”

 

Suddenly, Yonghwa screams in pain. The young brunette just step into his feet silently and he literally rose his feet off ground, holding it in air.

 

“Omo, are you okay?” both Yoong and Yul look at him puzzles.

 

“Uh, Yoong… Sunbae, can we excuse our selves first?” the young brunette immediately drags out Yonghwa, leaving Yul and Yoong confused with the things going on.

 

Watching the two exits the room, Yoong can’t help but to clench as he saw the younger girl holding the stranger by his arm. Something is growing in him that he doesn’t like. Yeah, only childhood friend, but, he never know the guy’s real intention. The flowers were somehow indicating for something for him.

 

" Hyung, do you think that guy is only seeing my girlfriend as a friend?" the doe-eyed guy said in a whisper, not noticing that even his best friend has his two fists clenching. Hearing no answer, the young president turned to face his best friend. He arches his brow upon seeing him not in the mood too.

 

"Yah! Hyung!" he almost wanted to smack his best friend for not paying with him. The tan guy jerked and looks at him surprised. "what were you thinking?"

 

"uh... Uhmm... What did you say again?" Yul panics, he sure the doe-eyed guy has seen his face earlier.

 

"Ugh, don't tell me... "

 

"I'm jealous? No of course... Uh, i'm just... Worried..." the tan guy defensively said, as he avoids his best friend's observing eyes on him. 

 

"You're indeed not." Yoong decided to shrug the thought in his mind and sat back to the couch.

 

Turning his body around, Yul Followed suit and speaks again. "Seriously, Yoong... I can't trust that guy. He has this aura that I can't explain." 

 

“Hyung… I’m not really convinced too… I don’t think they are childhood friends? More like… they don’t know each other… “ Yoong sighed and face palmed. He doesn’t know how to react with this new information he just found out.

 

“But why did the guy know her? Even her nickname?” Yul said as a matter of fact.

 

The young president thought for a moment as he brought his finger to his chin. Indeed, why does the guy know her girlfriend’s nickname? Only close friends of the younger girl calls her like that. So that just means, they’re friends and there’s nothing to worry?

 

“Tch… I don’t know. I just can’t get off my mind to the scene earlier. I really need some answers.” Yoong face palmed and took a deep breath. What was going on isn’t in his expectations. Does the younger girl contact someone to see their performance? Because if that so, she might introduce the guy.

 

“I should know this guy first.” He added, as Yul replied with nods.

 

Sigh.

 

The two sighed at the same time, leaning comfortably their backs to the couch. Both of them were having a long face, with only one thing in their mind—Seohyun and the guy.

 

15 minutes passed…

 

The two is already leaning their heads against with each other, sleeping in their seats.

Opening the door was the younger girl. She has a poker face in her, as she steps inside the room with her own phone. Her mind was filled with all the things she had talked with that Yonghwa guy.

 

Earlier…

 

Yonghwa was chuckling as he composes his self to fully face the younger. He really can’t believe that the latter did lied. He was about to say something when the latter has beat him. "Mis Seo I am so--"

 

“What are you doing here? And how did you know I’m here?” the young brunette has her questions too, making him stop on chuckling.

 

“Are following me?” Seohyun added with a bit of high voice.

 

Taken aback, Yonghwa quickly reasons… “I am not. I happened to be here every Sunday,  and saw your awesome performance with the guy… and so… I told myself to bring you flowers. ” Yonghwa defends his self.

 

Seohyun sighed and took a deep breath. She should not judge the guy first, but basing from the way the latter act earlier, she should not be buying with those words. “Just one thing… I don’t want to see you around if I’m with my friends. Uh… actually they don’t know you, especially Yoong.”

 

“So that was your boyfriend, then?” Yonghwa chuckles.

 

“Yeah, so before you—“

 

“So I know now, who’s my rival then.” Grins the toothy guy. “I guess he can be that harm right?”

 

“What? Are you insane?” The younger exclaimed, after hearing the words from the latter.

 

Yonghwa smirk. “Anyway, just shrug that off. I am here because I want to see you tonight. At 7pm, I have my exam tomorrow, so I guess I need your help for my trigo…. Tonight at my house.” Yonghwa said firmly, handing the younger a map for his house.

 

 “Sorry but I can’t. I have an appointment at that time.” The younger girl said sadly. Although it’ll be another job, she can’t miss the event for the night especially since a lot of the doe-eyed guy’s relatives will be at the event. She bowed and was about to turn on her back when she felt a grip by her arm.

 

Yonghwa grabs her arm to make her face again. “You’re not going to decline. I just give you an advance salary… you don’t want to be sued right?”

 

This time, the younger has her fist clench again. Why can’t she give back the money now? So that there will be no problems, and she can quit for another job.

 

“Miss Seo… I’m not blackmailing you but, I badly need a tutor tonight. You’re lucky coz you guys will have your finals after the choir competition. Me? I am in hell for a lot of subjects to be reviewed, and you know too well that I am not good at any comput—“

 

“Fine… fine… I’ll come… but in one condition.” Seohyun can no longer take it. She gives in. After all, she’s doing it for their house to be back. 

 

Yonghwa grins and quickly answers… “Go for it.”

 

“I want to see to it that your family was there. I want to talk to them.”

 

 “Oh, I’m sorry… my parents were not in my side right now. They’re both in abroad. I am just alone at home.” Yonghwa sadly shared.

 

“What? So… Uh, it will be only the two of us?” the younger frowns. She thought she can have a safe tutorial with the guy, but it seems not. She doesn’t want to think, but she can’t help not to. The guy is still yet so stranger for her. Plus, the fact that he is declaring his love for her.

“Yeah… why? is there something wrong on that?” Yonghwa innocently asked. But surely, he exactly knows why the latter is frowning.

 

Seohyun sighed in defeat. She can’t just tell what’s in her mind at the moment though. So she shook her head as she answers… “Later, tonight, I’ll be surely there.” She said in a low voice.

 

“That’s good then.” Yonghwa brightens and show a pinky promise, which made the younger narrowed her eyes. “Promise?”

 

Seohyun nods slowly and shows her pinky promise too, shaking it.

 

“Smile please… you looks like a lifeless woman—“

 

“Mister Jung, I don’t want to talk now. I’ll go ahead.” The younger mutters and excuses. Yonghwa stared at the younger’s back first, before he walks out.

 

Seohyun on the other hand stops and look back to the guy. It’s now or never. She only needs to be confident that nothing will happen on her. The guy should not be judge.

 

“So I know now, who’s my rival then.”

 

She recalls the latter’s words. It was a strong word from Yonghwa. As if he’s really determined to show his self that he has a chance. She assumes, the tutorial will be awkward later.

 

“This is going to be hard.” She mutters as she resumes her walk.

 

End of flashback…

Shaking her head to shrug the thought, she sighed once again and turned to face her friends. A smile plastered in her face upon seeing the tan guy and the doe-eyed guy leaning to each other’s head while sleeping. She cautiously approaches them and opens her camera on her phone.

 

Click.

 

Giggling silently with her work, she then proceeds to sat beside the doe-eyed guy and took the latter’s hand by hers. She intertwined it before she looks up.

 

“I’m sorry Yoong.” She whispers.

 

As if on cue, the doe-eyed guy opens his eyes and came to meet her eyes.

 

“Hey~” the doe-eyed guy calls as he yawns. Mindless, he isn’t aware that his best friend’s head was against to his that he move his head and following, Yul made a thud sound to the couch and groans once his head hit the couch.

 

“Omo, Sunbae? Are you okay?” Seohyun quickly turned behind the doe-eyed upon hearing the thud.

 

Yul compose his self and made a yawn, but was glaring to his best friend.

 

“What? I didn’t know you were there.” The young president raises his shoulders, playing innocent.

 

“Yeah right.” Yul mutter nonchalantly while rolling he’s eyes. He glances to the younger behind his best friend and asked about the talk with his child hood friend. “So what are you guys have talked?”

 

 Seohyun was hesitant to answer but made an excuse.

 

“Uhmm… Yoong, Sunbae, can’t I go to the event later tonight?” she asked, surprising the two gentlemen.

 

“Why?” all could utter in the doe-eyed guy’s mind. “I mean… all of a sudden? I made this date already right?” he was so surprised that he wanted a quick answer. But then again, the younger is in thought for moment as she answers…

 

“Be-because… Uh… my—“

 

“Your childhood friend, Hyunnie?” Yul joins, as he pulled out his ipad and opens a game nonchalantly.

 

“Wait… is this why he’s here?” Yoong immediately asked. “What are you guys doing tonight?”

 

Seohyun bit her lip. Will it be safe if she’s going to lie again? or will  it be safer if she’s going to tell them the truth? after all, they know that she and that Yonghwa guy were childhood friends.

 

“Uhmm… Yong-Yong… hwa… he-he… wa-want some help… for his finals tomorrow. Uh, so I’m going… to tutor him.” The younger girl couldn’t help but to release her hand from the doe-eyed guy’s hands. She’s not confident with her answer knowing that it’s a lie/true answer; True, since she will indeed tutor the toothy guy, lie because, the two gentlemen doesn’t know the real reason behind the tutorial.

 

Yoong nods in slowly as he fully understands it. But
