Unexplainable

 

 

 

When I saw you smiled, suddenly my heart was beating fast.

Sound of a car pulling over an empty garage was heard. Running to greet the owner of the car is a white dalmation dog, shaking its tail to greet the owner. The dog barks as soon as he saw the foot of his master.

 

The owner of the foot bends down to greet their dog, as she pats its head. “Dingx? Hmm? Where’s your other master?”

 

The dog just keeps on the hand of his master as the latter just keeps on smiling, playing with her dog.

 

The woman in her 30’s observes every part of the dog's body before coming up with a conclusion. “Have you eaten already? You look thinner now. Ugh, that doe-eyed must be so busy again.” standing up, the woman guided their dog to enter the house.

“Yoong? Where are you?” she called, raising her voice.

 

“UMMA HERE IN MY BEDROOM!!!”

 

Yoong’s mother shook her head before resuming to the living room, with Dingx tailing behind. Just when she came across the coffee table in the living room, a brown envelope is placed on top, made her pick up the thing to her curiosity.

 

“Sony Music Entertainment?” she arch her eyebrows, reading the text in front of the envelope.

 

“UMMA!!! CAN YOU COME HERE?”

 

Another call from her son was heard, made her turned her head. Deciding to go upstairs, she didn’t put back the envelope to where it is place earlier and went upstairs. For some reason, she wanted to ask her own son about it.

“Umma, Uh… I am having some problem here. I don’t know what to wear for tomorrow.” Yoong immediately told his mother once he saw her entering his room.

 

“What’s for tomorrow?” asked the clueless mother of the doe-eyed guy. The piles of clothes on the bed tells her that her son has something important to do.

 

“Uh, just… aish! You don’t have to ask me. Just want to hear your advice. What I should wear?” The doe-eyed guy pouted, doesn’t really know what to wear for his meeting with his partner.

 

Furrowing her eyebrows, Yoong’s mother sure that the son she knows too well, isn’t the usual person in front of her. She use to see her son being so reserve or even speak with much minded word.

 

“Son, is this something to do with this?”

 

Yoong instantly arch his back when his mother abruptly handed the brown envelope to his chest. Oblivious, Yoong accepted the thing as he opens it. “What’s this?”

 

“You don’t know?” His mother asked afterwards.

 

“It looks like a contract or something?”

 

“So you really don’t know?”

 

“Not literally.”

 

Totally confused, Yoong shrug his shoulders towards his mother. Just earlier, he was the one who receives it but he didn’t take a look over the thing and just tossed it in the living room.

 

“As I read it… it’s an artist contract along with an invitation letter. Yoong, are you aware of this?” being a mother, everything the her son does should pass through her before taking an action. The young mother can’t put any words to explain why on earth someone just send it without any notice from her or from her son.

 

“I’m totally oblivious on this. You know I always contact you right?” groaning, Yoong helplessly sat in the edge of the mattress.

 

“Alright, since you didn’t know about this. I’ll take care of it. Besides I know you’ll never entertain this kind of offers.” Mrs. Im smiled, looking around her son’s bedroom.

 

Yoong chuckles with his mother’s actions—Aware  that his mother is use with his clean room and neat. What his mother is currently wandering is the quite messy room.

 

“Yoong? What’s happening here? what’s all these mess? How many times I told you to clean always your room.” with two hands in her waist, the single mother can’t help but to scold her son.

 

Yoong quickly enguldge his mother a warm back hugs before reasoning… “I’m doing a new song umma. Don’t worry I’ll clean up later. Don’t bother on that; let’s bother my clothes for tomorrow. Hmm?”

 

“YAH! What’s so important tomorrow?” as if she predicted that her son will continued back hugging her, the single mother quickly let go from her son’s embraces.

 

Yoong scratches the back of his head as he grins. “It’s a secret.”

 

“Secret? Am I hearing you Yoong? You have secrets to your umma?”

 

Yoong groans silently and pouts towards his mother. “Please? No more questions? I have less hour to prepare.”

 

Crossing her arms, Miss Im glared, not giving in to her son’s dramas. “I’m not going to help you if you are not going to tell me, what is this all about?” she asked firmly. 

 

Yoong stared in silent to his mother. Doesn’t want to spill any single detail for tomorrow, he decided to lie. “Hyung and I will have a… choir competition. Happy?”

 

“Choir competition? Isn’t that in a month? Not tomorrow?” Miss Im arch her eyebrows, can’t believe that for the first time, she heard her son lied.

 

Fail.

 

Yoong bit his lip in frustration. Reminding his self: Umma knows my schedule and activities in school, except for Joohyun-ssi.

 

“Alright, Yeah I lied… I’m going to see a… movie tomorrow. Alone.” He lied again eventually.

 

“Alone? Where’s Jessica?”

 

Yoong slapped his forehead mentally for forgetting again. His friend Jessica and his mother are close. Everytime he went outside, he always tell his mom on meeting Jessica. Explained why his mother asked for the blonde haired girl.

 

“Uh, she… she… “ I dump her. In Yoong’s mind before continuing… “She went for a break. I don’t know where she is.” He said innocently, trying to avoid his mother's gazes. 

 

“Break? In this time? It’s not yet summer or winter break right?”

 

As if he’s in a hot seat, Yoong fanned his self out of nowhere. The continues question from his mother is giving him a hard time. He wished someone will interrupt but no, they’re the only ones in the house--except for Dingx.

 

“Yoong tell me, is there something that I should know?” Mrs. Im crosses her arms again, carefully observing her son’s uneasy face.

 

Clearing his throat, Yoong think for a moment before answering… “Nothing… Noona and I were okay. n-nothing really happened. I’m telling you we’re good.”

 

Arching her eyebrows, Mrs. Im can clearly spell her son’s gestures. She’s not a mother for nothing when she almost know the meaning of every gestures of her son. She just simply asked about jessica, but the latter is being defensive.

Gathering her thoughts, Mrs. Im decided to ignore her son’s trouble. “Fine, I won’t asked now. Just tell Jessica I said hello. Hmm?” she said, patting the shoulder of her son before exiting the room.

 

With a heavy breath, Yoong literally throw his back in the bed with a bounce. “Aigoo… what’s happening to me?” lying is the best he can do hence he know it will just create chaos if he’ll reveal what he done to his friend ‘Jessica’. 

 

"I should contact her later" He mutters before... 

 

jumping off from the bed, put his two hands in his hips and look at the piled of clothes in the floor. “Why I should make things difficult if it’s only her I’m going to see. Aish!” he ruffled his before picking up the pieces of clothes and put all of it in his closet.
