“The Little Things”

Everyone was out for the night to celebrate their long-awaited comeback. It has been almost a year since their last one, so not only were their fans nervous about the comeback but it was the same for the members of VIXX themselves. But in the end, it was all worth it.

“Cheers!” everyone said along with the staffs and managers in the restaurant.

“I still can’t believe the comeback stages are next week,” Jaehwan said happily.

“Same, I’m kind of nervous,” Hongbin agreed.

“It’s okay, hyung. If you make a mistake, I’ll be sure to nag you,” Hyuk teased.

The members haven’t had much time dining out or celebrating for a long time especially with all six of them at once. There’s always one or two members missing around the dining table, so Hakyeon couldn’t help but feel happy inside just being surrounded by his beloved members.

They drunk, and they ate, they played, and they laughed. All six of them were in bliss just having the time of their life with one another and talking about many things. When the music started to play in the restaurant, their bodies also started to move along with it. And when some of their older songs were played, the lyrics and the dance would automatically come back to them even though they haven’t practiced those songs for a long time.

Hakyeon watched s happily drinking and laughing, though he couldn’t hold his liquor as well as the younger members, he was just happy to be a part of it all. He was thankful to be able to be here with the other five.

After a long night, the members finally got to go home but it was obvious that they were all drunk one way or another. Some were more obvious than the others, but it was fun.

“Do we have any soju or beer in our fridge?” Jaehwan asked, “I’m ready for round two!”

“I think we have something, let’s make ramyun too. I’m hungry already,” Hyuk mentions.

“Taekwoon-hyung, make us ramyun!” Wonshik shouted hyperly and pretending to be sober.

“Okay~” Taekwoon agreed happily since everyone was in a good mood.

The members all continued to have their second round of drinks and midnight snack in the middle of the night after they reached their dorms. Hakyeon simply watched from outside of the kitchen area as the five of them scrummages through the fridge and cupboards.

This is really real, isn’t it? Hakyeon wonders as he tried to sober up. He always end up asking this question to himself whenever he’s feeling a little tipsy. He could still feel the tingling sensation around his cheeks, the dryness in his through, and his body completely separated from his mind because of the alcohol. At times like this, he just can’t help but wonder.

The clanking of the pots and pans, the sounds of the forks and metal chopsticks made from the kitchen sounded like music to his ears for some reason instead of the usual annoyance he gets when s wake up earlier than him in the morning and start digging through the kitchen without considering that he was still trying to catch some sleep.

I’m really drunk, aren’t I? He tapped his face to wake up a little as he stood by.

Usually whenever Hakyeon went out for a drink, he would be good at holding back or knowing his limits since he had pretty good self-control, but tonight, he decided to just let it go. And when he did let go, he started to think about all sorts of unnecessary things. Even the things that has built up over the years or the things that the members fought about during the preparation of the album.

Everyone had a tough time during the preparation of their third full album and there were often fights either inside the studio or even in their group chats. Hakyeon tried to forget about those fights and he seldom joins in anymore but the members who did argue with one another broke his heart. Their fights can be petty at times and Hakyeon knows very well that they would eventually get over it but still, the fact that s were fighting with one another wasn’t good for him to watch. He tried being the leader and stopping them but there was only so much he could do.

“Thank you,” Hakyeon said in a mumble through the chaos in the kitchen.

“Hmm?” Taekwoon turned around, “did you say something?”

Hakyeon shook his head and gestures his friend to continue on with his cooking.

The younger members were holding onto their liquor better than Hakyeon expected and they were already on their second round of drinks. Hakyeon sat by the table and ate the ramyun that Taekwoon made as he listened to the continuous laughter of s. Even Wonshik who was on a strict diet ate a little of the ramyun for the first time in a long while because everyone was simply having a great time.

“Hakyeon-hyung?” Jaehwan noticed the leader being awfully quiet,” a-are you okay?”

“Hmm? Why wouldn’t I be?” Hakyeon asked and everyone turned their attention towards the older.

“Y-you’re crying,” the younger panicked a little.

I am? Hakyeon didn’t even notice. He touched his cheeks to feel the tears slipping down and finally, he realized that he really was crying without a single bit of awareness.

“Hakyeon-ah, are you okay?” Taekwoon became worried as well.

“Yeah, are you hurt anywhere? Did you burn your tongue?” Hyuk asked.

Everyone stopped what they were doing or talking about whatever they were talking about to turn their attention to Hakyeon. Hakyeon could see their worried expressions through his drunken state and he couldn’t help but feel genuinely touched by their concerns.

“I- “his voice cracked a little,” I really love you all. Thank you for being here with me. I’m really, really glad to have met you all.”

The members were taken back by Hakyeon’s sudden words of sincerity and couldn’t help but crack a smile.

“Hakyeon-ah, you’re completely drunk,” Taekwoon chuckled.

“Yeah, hyung. What are you saying?” Wonshik said.

“I don’t know, I just want to say I love you all,” Hakyeon continues in tears as he froze with the chopsticks still in his head and hovering above the ramyun that Taekwoon made.

“Silly hyung, we love you too,” Jaehwan scooted his chair closer towards Hakyeon and wrapped his arms around Hakyeon to comfort the leader.

“You do?” Hakyeon asked a silly question.

“If we don’t love you, why else would we be here with you?” Hongbin asked. “We all love you and that’s a given.”

The members all nodded in unison and reassured the small bits of insecurity that Hakyeon had. Just by looking at them, Hakyeon felt more relieved and smiled happily.

“Then, will we be together for a long time?” Hakyeon asked.

“Of course,” all five of them said at once.

For as long as Hakyeon wants it, the six of them will be together forever.
