“ Leader's Favorite “

Hongbin and Hyuk had a rather boring day today back in the dorms. The older members were out and Wonshik was in his studio like the usual. So, the two younger members were alone to watch over the dorms while the other members were absent. They were in their respective rooms with their doors opened and playing Overwatch.

“Hyung! To the right!” Hyuk shouted across the dorms while playing the match.

“Got it. Watch your back too!” Hongbin replied.

The two were shouting at one another despite the fact that they were on headsets but the match was intense and no one was around to nag their shouting or screaming.

After a long session, the two finally logged off to take a break.

“Man, I was so out of shape today,” Hongbin said as he met Hyuk in the kitchen for a snack.

“Same here,” Hyuk sided with him.

“Should we continue later?”

“I don’t know honestly, I’m tired.”

“Same to be honest.”

“By the way when is everyone coming home? I need dinner.”

“Make your own.”

“If you want me to blow up the kitchen, sure,” Hyuk was only half joking.

Ring. Ring.

Hyuk’s  phone ring and he went to grab it.

“Hakyeon-hyung? What is it? Your script? Sure, I’ll bring it over right now,” Hyuk was taking on the phone.

“Was it Hakyeon-hyung?” Hongbin was trying to listen in on the conversation.

“Yeah. He forgot his script in his room so I’m going to go deliver it now.”

“I’ll go with you.”

“Huh?” Hyuk was confused. “I can go alone.”

“Why’d he call you anyways. I told him I was at home today too.”

“I don’t know. Maybe because he feels like it?” Hyuk tilted his head.

Hongbin grumbled a bit.

“It’s not fair.”

“What?”

“He’s always relying on you or calling you for things even when I told him I’m available.”

“Well, you always ignore him too when he asks you.”

“You do it too!” Hongbin accused the younger.

“So? Anyways why are we arguing about this anyways?”

“I don’t know. But let me deliver the script to Hakyeon-hyung,” Hongbin insisted while whining like a child… even though he was the older one at home right now.

“No way. Hakyeon-hyung is relying on me to take it to him so I can’t disappoint him when I’ve already made the promise.”

“Just let me!”

Hongbin and Hyuk stared at one another for a good minute while their eyes shifted towards a certain direction.

Hakyeon’s room.

In an instance, while having the same thing in mind, the two dashed for their leader’s room in search for the script. The first one who finds it, gets to deliver it.

“Move,” Hongbin demanded,”I’m older than you.”

“Well you certainly aren’t acting very mature are you, hyung,” Hyuk argued while the two were stuck in the doorway.

“This is ridiculous. It’s always you that Hakyeon adores. Ever since debut!”

“Well that’s because I was awkward and Hakyeon-hyung wanted to help me fit in.”

“That’s why it isn’t fair. Even though I’ve known him the longest, every single one of you tried to take him away from me,” Hongbin said bluntly.

“If you weren’t always pushing him away and saying you don’t want to be around him, maybe Hakyeon-hyung would give you more attention still. You reap what you sow.”

“W-what?” The older was getting mad and shoved Hyuk away from the door.

But of course, Hyuk was no pushover.

He grabbed the older and flung Hongbin backwards.

“Grow up, hyung!” The younger said.

“Grrr.”

The two finally got into their leader’s room and each went in their own direction to find the script in order to deliver it to Hakyeon. After rummaging for a long time around Hakyeon’s room, neither of them were able to find the script.

“Dammit, where is it?” Hongbin was obviously irritated.

“Hyung said it was supposed to be on his desk somewhere…” Hyuk told the older unawared.

Honestly the two younger members are very close with one another and their interests are always similar to one another. Sure, Hongbin was rather awkward with Hyuk at first but after they opened up to each other, they were closer than friends. And as much as they like teasing their leader together, they sometimes also have childish fights on figuring out who Hakyeon’s favourite really is.

“Just to let you know, I’m still Hakyeon-hyung’a favorite,” Hongbin persisted while frantically searching the room.

“Whatever. We all know the truth that I’m still Hakyeon-hyung’s favourite no matter what you say,” Hyuk rolled his eyes.

Just then, someone entered the room by surprised.

“What the hell are you two doing to my room?” It was Hakyeon, who decided to return home for the forgotten script since Hyuk was taking too long.

But he didn’t think that he would come back to this mess…

Both Hyuk and Hongbin looked around their leader’s room which was nice and clean not too long ago. But now, things were all over the place and lying messily across the floor.

The two younger gulped and pointed at one another.

“It’s his fault,” they both said at the same time.

Hakyeon raised his brows at the two and let out a deep sigh.

“I asked for my script not for my room to be in a huge mess,” he said.

“S-sorry. I couldn’t find the script,” Hyuk said.

“It’s okay. I realized I left it somewhere else,” Hakyeon told him. “But you didn’t have to turn my room around if you can’t find it. You could’ve called me.”

“It’s Hongbin-hyung,” Hyuk accused.

“Hey!” Hongbin shouted. “I thought I’d help finding the script, that’s all.”

“No, you weren’t. You were fighting with me to find hyung’s script first so you can give it to him instead of me!”

“Oh?” Hakyeon looked at Hongbin.

“I just…” Hongbin bit his lips in fear of getting into trouble.

“Well?”

“It’s not fair you called Hyogi and not me to look for your things. You’re always relying on the others and never me. It’s not fair!”

“Pfft.” Hakyeon couldn’t hold his laughter. “I only called Hyogi because I knew the two of you guys were together. I was going to call you if Hyogi didn’t pick up anyways.”

“That means you thought of him first. That's not fair."

“Well, I’ll call you first next time but just make sure you don’t hang up on me like you usually do…”

Hongbin nodded in agreement.

“So are you two going to clean up this mess for me?” Hakyeon asked.

“Yeah,” Hongbin looked at Hyuk and nodded in agreement. “We’re sorry.”

“Sorry hyung,” Hyuk also apologized.

“Good. Now then, I’m going to grab my script,” Hakyeon told them.

“Where did you leave it?” Hyuk asked.

“In Jaehwan’s room,” the leader said.

“… why?” Hongbin asked.

“Because I slept in his room last night?” Hakyeon said.

“What?!” Hongbin and Hyuk said in unison.

So, little did they know, they had one more rival when it comes to being Hakyeon’s favourite.
