"The Last Kiss"

(Final Act)

Taekwoon destroyed it all.

He decided to put an end to everything and stop himself before it really was too late. 

He'll never forgive me... even I... can't forgive myself... He slouched over on his chair as he locked himself in his room.

Knock. Knock.

"Hyung, are you okay? It's dinner time, aren't you hungry?" Jaehwan was outside, hoping that the older vocalist would hear him out.

"I'm fine. I'm not hungry," Taekwoon said in the most quietest voice ever. He's lost the energy to speak or do anything at all.

Why did I do that to Hakyeon? I'm such an idiot!

He couldn't help but resent both Hakyeon and himself for everything he's done. He really thought he would be alright as long as he could stay near Hakyeon or by the older's side but his greed got the better of him after all. 

"I'm sorry," he said aloud to Hakyeon who couldn't hear him at all. 

Hakyeon also retreated back to his own room after the incident, neither of the two oldest members went out to join the younger members for dinner and only silence remained throughout the dorms. 

"I'm such an idiot," Taekwoon repeated once more as he dug his nails into his palms so tightly that he was started to bleed. Maybe he deserved this pain? If not worst especially for what he almost did to Hakyeon...

Throughout the night, Taekwoon couldn't erase the incident that he caused out of his mind. He couldn't sleep while the rest of the members had already turned off the lights and went back to their individual rooms for the night. Taekwoon felt the guilt and he couldn't rest in peace. 

If only I could turn back time... 

A foolish thought but a wishful thinking. He didn't just want to turn back time to before today and make it so that the incident never occurred but he thought that maybe if they really could go back in time... then he wants to go back to before he's ever met Hakyeon in the first place.

If they never met, Taekwoon wouldn't have to feel this way about the older and he wouldn't have had to lose on morales. 

Knock. Knock.

"Taekwoon-ah," it was Hakyeon's voice.

The leader was outside of his bedroom in the middle of the night. 

Taekwoon shot up from his seat and approached the door, knowing well that Hakyeon was right on the other side.

"Taekwoon-ah," Hakyeon called out gently once more. "Are you asleep? Can we talk?" 

"No. Go away. Don't come near me... I'll hurt you again," Taekwoon almost wanted to cry as he said those words because deep down inside, he wanted to open those doors and hold tightly onto Hakyeon, whom he's accidently hurt. 

"Let's talk, Taekwoon-ah. Please?"

Why would you want to talk to someone like me? It's better if I wasn't around... Taekwoon could only think. 

"I beg you," Hakyeon said once more but this time, Taekwoon could hear the older's voice crack a little as if... the older was crying outside.

That made Taekwoon feel uneasy. He didn't want to imagine the older crying once more. 

Don't cry. Please, don't cry for someone like me... Taekwoon was resisting the temptations to open the doors and hold onto Hakyeon, who sounded so broken outside of his room. 

"Please, Taekwoon-ah. Talk to me," Hakyeon was really crying outside. He felt desperate to see Taekwoon and couldn't help but feel the pain of being rejected by the latter.

Taekwoon gave in.

He couldn't bear to hear Hakyeon's sobbing outside of his door and he knew that if he didn't give in, Hakyeon would stay outside of his room all night long until Taekwoon decides to come out.

"Please, stop crying," Taekwoon begged the older back in desperation. "You know I can't stand it when you cry."

"Taekwoon-ah!" Hakyeon jumped at Taekwoon the moment the vocalist opened the door. His face was full of tears and his eyes were red from possibly crying for several hours straight after the incident. "I-I'm sorry, Taekwoon-ah. I'm so so sorry."

"What are you talking about? Why would you be sorry? I should-" Taekwoon was confused.

"No! It's all my fault. It's my fault that you did that to me. You said it yourself, it's all my fault."

Those words felt like they were jabbing straight into Taekwoon's heart. Those words he really didn't mean to say to the older yet couldn't hold them back either. He lost control of his emotions and said things he really didn't want to. 

"It's not your fault. I shouldn't have said those things. Nothing is ever your fault, Hakyeon-ah. So please, don't cry. I'm sorry," Taekwoon caressed Hakyeon's tearful face and tried to wipe away the older's tears. But Hakyeon couldn't stop crying and eventually, Taekwoon's tear fell with the older as well.

The two of them held onto one another tightly that night. Both apologizing to the other over and over again for their possible 'mistakes'. 

When the next morning came, Taekwoon was no longer by Hakyeon's side. Hakyeon woke up with tears as he woke up alone on Taekwoon's bed. 

Taekwoon left.

He was gone just like that.

"Where'd Taekwoon-hyung go?" the other members began to question.

"He's..." Hakyeon bit his lips in anxiety.

Are you really planning to end it all at once? Why couldn't you give me more time?

If only he had more time then maybe he would have found the answers to Taekwoon's desperation. He understands how strong the latter's feelings are for him but Hakyeon himself doesn't know what else to think of it.

Sure he likes Taekwoon a lot but is that the same as the vocalist's words of love? Hakyeon loves all s too, how is that any different from Taekwoon's love?

Taekwoon left the dorms temporarily and went to stay at his friend's place for the time being in order to find some sort of resolution to all of his problems. But no matter how far apart he's pulled away from Hakyeon, he couldn't let go of his feelings for his lifelong 'friend'. He never thought that his love would grow into possessiveness and greed.

Hakyeon never thought that he would eventually drive TAekwoon away. But what did he do wrong to be honest? No one was wrong.

A week went by and Hakyeon would find himself going into Taekwoon's room whenever he misses the younger. Hakyeon really did miss Taekwoon a lot now that he wasn't around.

Though Hakyeon and Taekwoon aren't as clingy together as they would with the other members, they're just content when they could be near one another. Even Hakyeon thought that was all they needed in their friendship but when one starts to question their feelings for the other, things began to turn upside down.

Is there really no way we can be together even as friends? Why does it have to end this way?

Ring. Ring.

Hakyeon looks at the called ID and it said 'Taekwoonie'.

"Taekwoon'ah?!" Hakyeon picked it up in a panic.

"Sorry. This isn't Taekwoon. It's Himchan," the B.A.P member introduced himself through the phone.

"Himchan? Why are you calling me with Taekwoon's phone?" Hakyeon was very confused.

"It's because he's currently at our dorms."

"What? As in B.A.P's dorms?" Hakyeon couldn't comprehend what the other was saying.

"Yeah. He's hiding here for the time being until he finds a place to move out of your dorms is what he told me. Did something happen between you and that idiot?"

"Um... yeah... I guess you can say that. I'm sorry he's intruding you guys."

"Well, I don't really mind since our place is kind of empty since YongGuk moved out and I like Taekwoon a lot. But I think we all know that this isn't where he belongs. It's obvious he misses home already especially since he keeps muttering your name in his sleep whenever I go to check up on him at night."

"Uh, about that..." Hakyeon didn't know what to say to explain their situation. "It's all my fault. Sorry."

"Nah. It's not your fault that idiot fell for you," Himchan said honestly.

"You know?"

"Of course. He tells me everything and he talks about you all the time whenever we go drinking."

Does Taekwoon really like me this much that even Himchan knows abou it?

Hakyeon had no choice now but to take actions for himself since Taekwoon decided to be the one to run away.

"Himchan, can I ask you for a favor?"

"Sure, what is it?"

Taekwoon woke up to his alarm going off for the fifth time that day. Though it's been a week since he's started staying with the B.A.P members, the ceiling in which he woke up to is completely unfamiliar to him. 

The B.A.P members have been really busy and not many of them are ever at the dorms because they're always out meeting with their own leader who moved out.

Despite YongGuk moving out of the dorms, the members are still very close and reliant on the oldest of the group. Himchan on the other hand is supposedly the second most reliable one of the group especially since he stayed behind in the dorms but Himchan acts more like a child at times than the other members. Without the oldest in the dorms, rules were always broken but somehow peace was still kept.

Taekwoon never would have thought that he'd become such good friends with Himchan though. He didn't know how or why especially since their personalities don't really match up but he's always thought that he and Himchan had something in common - being the second oldest and being the same age as their group's leader. They're both supposed to be good friends with their same aged leaders but there seems to be a small divide in their relationship that didn't seem to be going anywhere beyond just being friends. Maybe it's because Taekwoon felt useless at times next to Hakyeon at one point that he eventually wanted to find someone to consult with. That person just happens to be Himchan.

Taekwoon is grateful for the hospitality though. He never thought Himchan would take him in without any conditions and all he could think about is how to repay his friend after he finds a new place.

Taekwoon looked at the proprerty brochures scattered on the desk. He's been busy with looking for a place to stay but he was in quite a dilemma. He's never done something like this before and he didn't want to call his family either for advice in case they get worried about him. After all, everyone knew that the six members of VIXX were inseparable.

He let out a deep sigh as he scanned around the room.

Clank. Clank. Clank.

The noise was coming out from the kitchen. All of the B.A.P members must've woken up already since it's way past two in the afternoon. 

Taekwoon folded the bed neatly and made sure the room was tidy since it wasn't his to begin with. That made him think about how he didn't need to clean up at all when he was in his own dorms.

As he headed out for the kitchen, he heard more pots and pans hitting one another. Someone was very busy preparing for a meal it seems.

"Ouch," a voice came from the kitchen. 

Huh? Taekwoon noticed that voice almost immediately but it can't be... why would he be here of all places?

Taekwoon turned into the kitchen and just as he thought, it was Hakyeon. For a second, Taekwoon had flashbacks to their own dorms, as if he was still in VIXX's dorms because why else would the leader of VIXX be here? And in the kitchen of all places?

"Now where are the plates?" Hakyeon began to talk to himself as he looked up at the cupboards and shelves of an unfamiliar kitchen.

"What are you doing here?" Taekwoon was in complete disbelief.

"Oh, you finally woke up. Do you know how late it is already? I can't believe you slept past two!," the leader commented.

"Huh? Ha-"

"By the way, do you know where the plates are? I've been trying to look for them everywhere," Hakyeon continued on.

Taekwoon pointed at one of the cupboards in reflex to the older's question.

"Oh, thanks," Hakyeon tiptoed up to reach for a few plates.

"Wait!" Taekwoon finally snapped out of it. "Why are you here?" 

"Hmm?" Why? I'm going to be staying here with you starting from today."

"W-what?"

"I already got approval from Himchan and our members."

"You can't," Taekwoon quickly denied him.

"Why not?" Hakyeon gave the usual head tilt.

"Why? Do you not remember why I decided to leave the dorms in the first place?"

"And who gave you permission to leave without a word?" Hakyeon suddenly said in a more serious tone.

"I don't need anyone's permission. I just want to stay away from you until these feelings stop. So why are you here when I'm trying to forget?" Taekwoon felt like he was breaking down slowly in all confusion with the situation.

"Sorry Taekwoon-ah but you can't."

"Huh?"

"I didn't give you permission to leave the dorms nor did I give you any permission to just throw away your feelings. I don't care if it's selfish of me to say this but you just can't. I won't allow it."

"How can you be so selfish? Do you not care about my feelings?" 

"And those feelings are for me. So you can't run away, Jung Taekwoon."

"I can run away if I want to. There's no point in keeping these feelings if you aren't even going to answer to them. Have you already forgotten what I almost did to you the other time? Aren't you afraid that I might do the same again?"

"You won't. You didn't because you're Jung Taekwoon. You're Jung Taekwoon who can't do anything to hurt me because you can't help but fall for me. That's who you are and even if you try to escape, I'll definitely find you. I won't allow you to just run away from your feelings."

Taekwoon was at a lost of the argument. He never thought that Hakyeon could be so selfish or so hard to deny at times like this. It's true though, how can Taekwoon run away or forget his feelings for Hakyeon when he's already sunk so low for the other?

"Selfish or not, Jung Taekwoon. You've already fallen for me so stop trying to lie to yourself that you can just forget your feelings for me if you ditch me," Hakyeon said. 

"Then does that mean you'll love me back?" Taekwoon asked.

"No."

"Then why..."

"I've thought about it. I love you but at the same time, I don't. I can't answer to your feelings right away and I need time to adjust but until I find the answer to that question, you're not allowed to back out or run away. If you really love me, shouldn't you do all that you can to make me fall for you instead? So why are you admitting defeat so easily?"

"What's the point of fighting if you can't answer to my feelings?" Taekwoon asked further.

"What's the point of giving up if you don't even know what might happen in the future? What about possibilities? Would you like it if I liked someone else instead?"

"No. I'd... I'd hate that," Taekwoon admitted.

"Exactly. So why are you giving up? Make me yours."

Taekwoon swallowed hard at the leader's proposition. It was a very daring statement even from Hakyeon himself but the leader had a point that even Taekwoon couldn't help but think - what if he really can make Hakyeon fall for him? If that's possible, why does he have to run away? If he runs away, then even the smallest possibility would disappear. 

Fine, Cha Hakyeon. If we're going to play it that way... Taekwoon toughens up and made his resolution.

He pulled Hakyeon within his arms and kissed Hakyeon by force.

"Two can play this game, Hakyeon-ah. Don't regret it," Taekwoon said. "I will make you mine so you better prepared."

"Heh. Let's see you try," Hakyeon smirked. 

So, instead of just ending everything once and for all, the two of them decided to see things through until the end even if it's by a little at a time. However, it wasn't so bad because this means that Taekwoon would be allowed to pester Hakyeon for a lifetime.

A/N: There's no conclusion to this short three-parter but I really wanted to write something different for once. Sorry if you guys wanted some better outcome but sometimes, it's more interesting to have none because that means it opens up to the endless possibilities ahead of us. This was an ice-breaker for me to be honest and initially, I was going to write something very tragic etc. but I decided it would be better this way.
