"Too Much Love"

"It's all thanks to hyung!" Jaehwan said one day.

"Hmm?" Hakyeon asked in curious.

"Hyung's the best!" the younger continued.

"What?"

"It's thanks to hyung that our performance went viral~"

"It's not really thanks to me... we all worked hard. You did too," Hakyeon tried to stay humble.

"Nope, it's all thanks to hyung!" 

Jaehwan continued to shower the older with praises and compliments for several days straight that the older didn't really know what to say or do. Jaehwan would often come up to him and tell him how great of a leader Hakyeon is out of nowhere and at really random times.

"You're the best!" Jaehwan said one morning as Hakyeon was brushing his teeth in the bathroom.

"Tmhmamks," Hakyeon tried to say as he still had his mouth full of toothpaste.

Hakyeon loved the praises. He really didn't have anything against it to be honest but it made him feel good and Jaehwan was the only one who would ever be so open about complimenting Hakyeon. But it was getting to the point where Hakyeon really didn't know if he liked the compliments or not.

"Jaehwan-ah, we need to talk," Hakyeon asked for Jaehwan one week. 

"Yes, hyung?" Jaehwan followed obediently behind the older to see what the older had to say.

"So um,... where do I start...," Hakyeon was rather troubled suddenly, losing his thoughts as he stood in front of the younger. Why did he want to talk to the younger vocalist again? "Jaehwan-ah, lately you've been complimenting me a lot after our MBC performance and um-"

"Oh! It's thanks to hyung that we're going to be able to perform the stage again on MuCore this Saturday! As expected of Hakyeon-hyung!" Jaehwan got excited and interrupted the older's thoughts.

"No, no. It's not because of me," Hakyeon sighed. "We're getting to perform again because of our fans."

"True but if hyung didn't direct the stage and the choreography, this wouldn't have happened in the first place. Even the MuCore producers love you!" 

"They like us all. I really didn't do anything."

"Honestly hyung, you're amazing. You make us so proud to have you as our leader," Jaehwan said and hugged Hakyeon tightly. 

"Uh um... thanks..." Hakyeon was completely speechless and flustered at the compliments. 

Is this how Taekwoon used to feel when we praises him just to ? Hakyeon wondered. Is Jaehwan doing this on purpose?

"But that's not the reason why I want to talk," Hakyeon had to stay firm and pushed Jaehwan away a bit.

"Hyung?"

"Jaehwan-ah. I'm happy for your compliments and your honesty but you don't need to keep telling me this over and over again. Once is good enough."

"But I thought you like praises?" Jaehwan totally didn't understand the situation.

"I do like it when you guys compliment me but it's too much. You don't need to say it everyday and like every time you see me."

"..." Jaehwan grew a bit quiet while thinking deepily.

Hakyeon was afraid of hurting the younger's feelings though. He really didn't want to make Jaehwan sad especially since Jaehwan is the only one who's always so energetic and making him happy. 

"Jaehwan-ah, I um, I don't mean to hurt you. I like your compliments a lot and... and..." Hakyeon found him stuttering nervously.

"Hyung."

"Y-yes?"

"So it's okay if the others praise you but not me?" Jaehwan stared at the older in suspicion.

"Huh? No, of course not. I like your praises too."

"Then why can't you accept them?"

"But it's too much. Once or twice is more than enough. I get it," Hakyeon tried to tell him.

"Liar."

"What?"

"The other day when Hyogi said how much he respected you, your face was gleaming with happiness and kept hugging him throughout the day yourself! And then, when Wonshik sent you that text about how perfect the choreography was, you were giggling away too!" Jaehwan said. "You only like it when they compliment you!"

"That's not true. I do like your compliments too! But it's too much at times."

"If you really like them, you would accept them and love me more," Jaehwan pouted. 

"I do love you though?"

"Liar."

"Com'on Jaehwan-ah. I do like it when you're honest and praise me. But too much can be excessive. I get how you feel even if you say it once because you're honest with your feelings. I believe it."

"Really?" The younger had his doubts. 

"Yeah."

"So if I say I love you, will you believe me too?"

"Um, sure? Why not?" Hakyeon tilted his head in confusion. "I love you too?"

"No. Not in that way. Not love as in friends or family. I love you as in I really want to kiss you and f-"

"Woah!" Hakyeon rushed to cover the younger's mouth in reflex, almost scared about what the younger was going to say if he continued.

Jaehwan stared at Hakyeon for a good long second and Hakyeon's palms which made the older completely flustered and flinching backwards. He was no longer just the cute main vocal anymore, he had a very intense stare at the older which made Hakyeon's beat very rapidly.

"I love you," the younger continued.

"I-I see. Thank you?" Hakyeon stuttered so much he bit his tongue by accident. "Ow."

Jaehwan leaned in and kissed Hakyeon deeply. He inserted his tongue inside of the older's mouth and traced Hakyeon's mouth in detail as he could taste the blood from the cut. Hakyeon found himself weak for the younger's intense kiss but he couldn't refuse it. It felt good, so good he was going to melt at any minute. He didn't know what to do at all. Should he push the younger away or let him continue?

Ah.. it, Hakyeon thought and just let the younger do as he pleased.
