"The Right Hand Man"

"Okay everyone, stand by!" The photographer gestured the six boys to stand in front of the backdrop. 

Everyone finished putting on their make up and getting changed into their clothes for the next month's issue of the magazine.  

Since the six boys of VIXX are one of the tallest boy groups in the industry, it is only natural for them to have a few fashion magazine gigs from time to time. It was fun and enjoyable as they got to wear all the newest trends before anyone else. 

"Looking good boys!  Just do as you usually do," the photographer was encouraging the six of them as his shutters went off rapidly. 

After several takes,  the boys took a break while they took turns doing individual shots.  

"You look good today, Kong-ah," Hakyeon complimented the younger. 

"Thanks," Hongbin was a bit flattered at the older's compliment no matter how many times he's heard it. "You look good too hyung."

Hakyeon grinned happily at Hongbin.  

"Alright Hakyeon and Hongbin, you're both next," the coordinator directed them to the front.  

"Coming!" The both of them replied. 

It's normal and the usual for these two to pair up with one another. It's been like this for years now. 

"Wait," the photographer halted them. 

"??" 

"Hongbin-ah, you stay behind this time.  I want Jaehwan to stand next to Hakyeon for this shoot."

"What? But that wasn't what we planned for initially," the coordinator was just as confused. 

"I know.  But I want fresh and new. Jaehwan and Hakyeon gives me that feeling more so I want to substitute Hongbin for Jaehwan instead."

"Okay..." The coordinator sighed. "Well, you heard the man. Sorry about that you two."

"No worries," Hakyeon smiled at her. "Let's go Jaehwan-ah."

"Uh, okay... "Jaehwan obeyed and followed Hakyeon into the set. 

Jaehwan glanced at Hongbin and looked rather apologetic to the younfer before he walked onto the set. 

Hongbin, who suddenly got subbed out, froze and didn't even know how to react. He watched Jaehwan stand next to Hakyeon for the photoshoot and looking as fresh as the photographer wanted them to.  

Hakyeon was smiling brightly with Jaehwan next to him, he was putting his arms around the vocalist and laughing so naturally. 

That's... That's my spot, Hongbin suddenly felt unfair thay he couldn't say anything about the photoshoot and could only watch as Jaehwan took his spot next to Hakyeon. 

Hongbin has always stood next to Hakyeon, to the older's right side no matter what.  It was as if Hakyeon's right side was a designated spot just for him. But now, he was replaced. 

He couldn't bear to watch his place be take. And quietly left the studio until it was his turn. 

Hongbin couldn't help but let out a deep sigh of disappointment. 

Maybe it was time for him to start looking fresh and bright like Jaehwan so that he could be paired up with Hakyeon more often, in case of this happening again. 

But just the thought made him sigh even more because that's not who Hongbin is. He's happy and young but he gave out a different feeling compared to the cute main vocalist. It was a feeling that he could never be a match for. 

However,  the younger couldn't help but worry, what if he continues to be replaced and eventually lose his place next to Hakyeon entirely?  He gulped just thinking about it. 

He didn't want to picture any of the other members standing to the right of Hakyeon. It is his place and he isn't willing to give it up. 

"I know it's childish but I'm going to talk to the photographer and see if he will give me a chance," Hongbin nodded to himself and gained enough confidence to head back to the studio. 

But just as he was about to go back, he bumped straight into the leader. 

"Ow!" Hakyeon's head hit straight at Hongbin's. He tried to rub the pain away. 

"Hyung!  Are you okay?" Hongbin got really worried. 

"Yeah I'm fine."

"You sure?" The younger just wanted to double check. "What are you doing out here?"

"Oh right!  I was looking for you."

"Me?"

"Yeah. It's your turn."

"Oh..." Hongbin couldn't hide his disappointment that he lost the chance to confront with the photographer. 

"What's wrong?" Hakyeon noticed a sad tone in the younger's voice. 

"Nothing..." He sighed. 

"It can't be nothing. Com'on, tell me what it is."

Hakyeon gave a slight puppy eye at the younger, making Hongbin vulnerable towards everything Hakyeon asks for. He's always been weak against this side of the leader. 

"It's just that...  I don't feel like doing the photoshoot alone."

"Alone? But we just took a bunch of group shots together.  What do you mean by alone?" The older tilted his head in confusion. 

"I mean, I was expecting to be paired up with you like always. I didn't expect myself to suddenly be replaced by Jaehwan-hyung."

"Replaced?  Why are you worrying about that?  The photographer just wanted to find a new approach to the photoshoot so that it would match more towards the theme of next month's issue," the older tried to reason with him. 

"I knkw but I just... feel so useless because I couldn't fit his criteria. And I don't like seeing my spot get taken away."

"Huh?"

"What I mean is, I'm so used to being by your side and being paired up with you during photoshoots that I... Well, I felt jealous when I saw Jaehwan-hyung in my place instead." Hongbin couldn't help but sulk thinking about it. 

"You were jealous?"

The younger nodded. 

"A lot."

"Haha, you're so cute Kongie," Hakyeon patted Hongbin on the head after seeing how upset the younger looked. 

"I'm not cute. I feel stupid right now," the younger sighed. "I can't believe I got jealous of Jaehwan-hyung."

Hakyeon chuckled even more. 

"You've always been by my side whether it's photoshoots or interviews. We get paired up so much that I thought you said you were sick of it."

"I'm not."

Hongbin leaned in and flopped into the older for a hug. 

"How can I ever be sick of you? Never."

Hakyeon returned the younger's warm hug and rubbed Hongbin soothingly on the back to try to cheer him up. 

"Well then, should I tell you the good news?" He asked. 

"Good news?" Hongbin grew curious. 

"Actually, I was telling the photographer just now that it feels weird not having a certain somebody by my side. So, I asked him if he could give that somebody a chance."

"Somebody? M-me?"

"Who else?  You've always been by my right side for the past nine years that it feels lonely not having you there with me. I love Jaehwannie a lot don't get me wrong but it feels like my right side is designated just for you. Reserved just for a kid named Lee Hongbin."

A/N: MY friend and I call Kong, Hakyeon's right-hand man all the time because 99% of the time, Hongbin is on Hakyeon's right xD
