"Leaving"

The members of VIXX are very playful when they’re with one another. They like to joke and tease each other even though they have quite an between the oldest and younger members. But nonetheless, they’re all very close with one another. They do fight but they’re always small ones in which the members would forgive and forget in no time at all.

But this time, their fight wasn’t that forgiving.

They’ve made their leader rather angry this time. Their jokes and teasing went too far out of hand that Hakyeon was mad.

Even though their comeback was just right around the corner and everyone was already on edge, the younger members decided to put their practices aside and skip rehearsals. They thought once or twice wouldn’t hurt and decided not to show up one evening while their leader was waiting for them.

Hakyeon called each of them several times but none of them answered their phones or bothered to show up. He was mad.

When he went home that evening to see s slacking off in the living room, he couldn’t hold his anger any longer.

“I waited! I called! And none of you cared to answer your phone and tell me you weren’t coming? Don’t you know how worried I was?” He raised his voice loudly that all the members froze. They were in trouble and it wasn’t a small one.

“I thought Taekwoon-hyung told you,” Wonshik said.

“No, Jaehwan said he was going to text you,” Taekwoon swallowed in fear seeing his life-long friend become this mad.

Jaehwan shook his head.

In the end, they all forgot to tell their leader that they were going to skip out on practice.

“Don’t you guys know how important the practices are? Our comeback is next week and we still haven’t gotten our timings right,” Hakyeon said.

“But we already memorized everything and we just waned a break—” Hyuk tried to calm the leader down but there was no excuse for not showing up.

“Break? We had one already before this comeback. Sejun-hyung even gave us a whole month to do what you wanted. You went to Europe, Hongbin and Taekwoon went back home, Jaehwan also hung out with friends and Wonshik, you got lots of time to do what you wanted even though you hid yourself in the studio most of the time. We had a break and now we have to go back to working hard. Even if you guys wanted to skip out, you could have at least notified me or call me,” Hakyeon lectured them severely.

“We really thought we called you…” Jaehwan felt bad.

“I’ve had about enough of you guys and your lack of communication with me! If you guys can’t be more respectful and responsible, I don’t think I’ll be able to stay here any longer. I’m going insane just having to tolerate everything!” Hakyeon lashed out and walked angrily back to his room.

He slammed his door harshly and the entire dorm was in dead silence.

They’ve really did it this time. Hakyeon was mad and they didn’t know how to make it up to their leader either.

They looked at each other but no one had an answer.

For the next few days, the members attended practice like they were supposed to but Hakyeon was still mad. Aside from talking to their choreographer, Hakyeon refused to speak a word with anyone else. That’s how mad they’ve made their leader this time.

“Hak—” Taekwoon tried to call his friend.

But Hakyeon ignored him and walked out of the dance studio right when practice was over.

Even when they were back at home, Hakyeon would lock his doors and refuse to come out. He would quietly go to the kitchen and take his food inside his room instead of eating with the rest of them.

“What should we do?” Hongbin worried.

“He won’t even listen to us or let us apologize anymore,” Jaehwan almost wanted to cry thinking about how much Hakyeon have neglected him.

“We’re already attending to practice like he wanted us, but he’s still angry,” Taekwoon said.

They all sighed in unison just thinking how helpless they were at the moment.

Their comeback was a success despite their angry leader. Rather than shouting or throwing punches around, the silent Hakyeon was much more frightening. He wouldn’t even look the members in the eyes if they weren’t in front of their fans or in front of a camera. Once their performances were over, he would walk away and ignore them once more.

Just as Wonshik was about to look for Hakyeon after one of their performances, he overheard something he shouldn’t have.

“Did the deposit go through?” Hakyeon was talking secretly on his phone. “Tell me once it does so that I can start moving the baggages. There shouldn’t be much things to pack anyways.”

Deposit? Moving? Wonshik’s fear grew. Is Hakyeon leaving them?

 “Guys!” Wonshik rushed to the waiting room to the other members who were still getting changed out of their stage outfits.

“What’s wrong?” Taekwoon asked after seeing the younger rush in with panic.

“I think Hakyeon-hyung is planning to move out of the dorms!”

“W-what?!” The members all panicked.

“Where is he moving to?” Hongbin asked.

“I don’t know. He was talking on the phone about packing his baggage and putting in a deposit to move. I think he’s leaving us…” Wonshik’s voice broke out just thinking about it.

“How can he do this to us…” Taekwoon said.

“We’ve really made him mad this time. He was the one that insisted that we continue to live together like family and now… he’s leaving?” Hyuk felt slightly betrayed thinking that the leader was going to leave.

The members all returned home with Hakyeon like usual but the entire time along the way, they really wanted to ask Hakyeon whether or not he was really moving out. But they were more afraid of the possibility that Hakyeon might say ‘yes’.

They were all too scared to ask Hakyeon so they decided to keep a watch of their leader’s actions first. But after several days of watching Hakyeon, they found even more evidence that the older might really plan on leaving them. They found real estate pamphlets, contracts and even search histories of places to move. Hakyeon really was going to leave them…

“So, when are you leaving?” their manager said nonchalantly to Hakyeon while all the members were in the room.

“Huh?” Hakyeon said.

“You’re moving right?”

“Me?”

The members all paid attention to what the two were talking about since they’ve been too afraid to ask themselves.

Hakyeon noticed the others watching as well but tried to ignore them.

“End of this comeback,” he told the manager.

“Oh?”

“Everything is finalized and packed,” the leader informed them.

“You can’t!” Hyuk shouted.

“You’re not seriously planning on leaving are you Hakyeon-ah?” Taekwoon said.

Hakyeon remained silent.

“We did wrong and we’re seriously sorry about it. Can’t you just overlook this one time?” Hongbin tried to reason.

“Just once? How many times has it been since I’ve forgiven you guys? How many times do I have to tolerate each and every single one of you before you guys can understand how much your actions hurt me?” Hakyeon said.

“But we’re really sorry. We promise we won’t do it again,” Jaehwan pleaded.

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep. I’ve had enough of it all,” Hakyeon refuted.

“But—”

“No buts. I’m moving out after this comeback and that is final.”

Hakyeon didn’t let the others say another word and left the room.

The members were on the verge of crying knowing that there isn’t many days left before their comeback was over. They were all out of time.

“You’re not really moving are you?” the manager asked Hakyeon after they were alone and out of the room.

“No. I was lying,” Hakyeon said.

“Then why did you say those things to them? Those kids seriously looked like they were going to cry just now.”

“They need to be taught a lesson and if I have to threaten them to make them reflect on their actions, then I have to do so.”

Their manager sighed.

“You’re really scary when you’re angry you know that?” He said.

“Yeah, I know,” Hakyeon was aware of it too.

“So, who’s moving? You asked me for information about houses and rents for the past several weeks.”

“My sister is looking for a new place since the family got bigger so I’m just helping them out.”

“I see. Well seems like you’ve got her all set up.”

“Yeah.”

“Just, what do you plan on telling the kids later on when they realize you’re not really leaving?”

“We’ll see about that. Who knows, if they piss me off once more, I might really move out on them,” Hakyeon wasn’t joking.
