I'm Here
Best Friends
Kai felt down today. He wasn’t quite sure why but he just felt sad and hopeless. He felt like he couldn’t do anything right today and didn’t want to be alone. After dance club, Kai asked Taemin if he could come over because he didn’t want to go home.
Taemin said it was alright, sensing his friend’s upset mood and made him hot chocolate as soon as they walked in the door. Kai sipped on his hot chocolate as Taemin wrapped an arm around his dongsaeng.
“Are you still upset about Yoojin?” Taemin questioned, the soft tufts of Kai’s hair.
Kai shook his head. “No,” he said, “It’s not her. I’ve gotten over her.”
“Then what is it?” Taemin asked, looking at Kai curiously.
“I don’t know,” Kai answered, “Maybe I’m just stressed from school or something.”
Taemin nodded his head. “Maybe that’s it. You want to take a nap?”
Kai shook his head once more, leaning his head on Taemin’s shoulder. “I think I just want a hug.”
Taemin then wrapped both his arms around his friend, pulling him into a warm hug, not letting go and allowing Kai to relax in the embrace.
“Just remember, Kai, that I’m always here for you if you need to talk, okay? Don’t be afraid to come to me for anything—I mean it, anything. I’m always here for you,” Taemin reminded him, meaning every word he said.
Kai smiled into his hyung’s shoulder.
“I know, hyung.”
