Today was a big event at Kai’s house between Kai and his friends. Taemin and Jonghyun bought Kai’s favorite snacks, of course making the younger thrilled, and SaeJin just brought herself, but Kai was certain that she was his favorite congratulatory gift and SaeJin knew it. The moment she saw him, she flung herself into his arms hugging him tightly.

“Congratulations!” she nearly screamed and Kai lifted her up a few inches to express his happiness.

“Thank you, SaeJin! I couldn’t have done it without you. All of you, really, you helped me a ton,” Kai said earnestly, all of a sudden feeling very emotional.

Taemin chuckled when he noticed tears beginning to gather in his best friend’s eyes. “Yah, now isn’t the time to be a cry baby. We need to have fun!” he exclaimed, grabbing a little bag of confetti from his back pocket and flinging the paper confetti at the younger.

“Yeah!” Jonghyun agreed, jumping over to Kai and grabbed his arms, keeping Kai restrained and confused.

Understanding what Jonghyun was getting at, SaeJin attacked her boyfriend’s torso with her nails, tickling him.

“AAHHH! STOP!!!” Kai laughed hysterically, trying to shrink down to the floor so they couldn’t get him, but that proved impossible as they were all ganging up on him.

“Congratulations~ Congratulations~” Jonghyun sang and half laughed, enjoying this. “Yah, Kai, you want cake now?” he asked once everyone finished torturing the poor kid.

Kai perked up excitedly, “There’s cake?”

“Duh, of course,” SaeJin said. “C’mon, it’s cake so hurry the up.”

All in all, it was a nicely spent afternoon for everyone especially Kai. He was surrounded by the people he loved most and was so grateful to have them. It would be rough he knew, joining SM, but it was sure to pay off.

Instead of thinking about the hardships ahead, Kai focused on the now, where he was spending one of the happiest days of his life with such great people.
