As soon as Kai walked into homeroom one morning at school, Taemin immediately jumped into his arms laughing like a madman and nearly knocking Kai down to the floor.

“Hyung! Er, happy to see you too!” Kai cheered uncertainly, knowing there was a reason for Taemin’s strangely over exuberant mood, but not quite knowing what it was.

“You better be!” Taemin said smiling. He released Kai from his tight hug and reached into his pockets before pulling out a heart-shaped lollipop, holding it out to his friend. “Here you go~,” he sang cheerfully.

Kai happily took the candy and looked at his hyung questioningly. “What this for?” he asked, sticking the lollipop into his backpack to save it for later.

“Do you not know what day it is today?” Taemin gasped, sounding offended though knew Kai wouldn’t think to know the date.

“Um…Tuesday?”

“No!”

“Then what? I’m not forgetting something important, right? Kai asked, feeling a little nervous. It obviously wasn’t Taemin’s birthday, it wasn’t his own birthday, it wasn’t Jonghyun’s birthday, and it wasn’t…yeah, he didn’t know what today was.

Taemin’s smile grew, cheering loudly, “It’s our four thousand and fifteenth day together!”

Kai laughed, “Okay, I don’t keep track of days so how was I supposed to know that?”

“I didn’t expect you to know,” Taemin giggled, “I just wanted to feel special for thinking of it. We’ve officially been best friends for eleven years!”

“Yay~!” Kai cheered along. “But…we’ve never actually celebrated the other years though…”

“Well, let’s start doing it now!”

“Okay!”

“Now eat your candy!”

“I want it for lunch!”

“Merong~”

“…Happy four thousand and…fifteen…th Day!”
