It's a Date
Best Friends
The Monday following the Friday when Taemin and Kai signed up for clubs, Kai walked into Biology, taking a deep breath before sitting down beside Yujin, who was silently reading a book. He looked at her briefly before making conversation.
“Good morning, Yujin noona,” he said brightly, smiling widely to hide he nerves.
Yujin looked up from her book and gave a sweet smile to her partner, “Good morning, Kai. How was your weekend?”
“It was alright. Homework and dancing, the usual,” Kai answered, waving his hand back and forth. “How was yours?”
“Filled with dumb homework really,” she answered tiredly, “I’m struggling with History.”
“I have a pretty good grade in that class. Maybe we could study together sometime,” he offered, hoping she would agree to it.
Yujin smiled gratefully, “Totally! That’d be great. I need to bring up my grade otherwise my dad is going to get mad.”
“How about Wednesday after school? We could meet in the library.”
“I can’t. I have Calligraphy Club right after school that day. How about Saturday? I know you and Taemin always hang out then but he can join us,” she suggested.
“I think he’d be cool with that. You know, how about we sit together at lunch today?”
“Sure, then you can meet my brother,” she then said smirking, knowing that that was an ultimate test to make sure they could hang out Saturday.
Trying to hide his obvious anxiety, Kai forced his smile even more even though he was scared to meet her older brother. “Yeah, that’d be cool,” he said.
“It’s a date then,” was the last thing she said before the teacher began the lesson.
Kai’s smile disappeared immediately after she said that.
….DATE!?!?
