Super short.

“I can swing higher!”

“No I can!”

Ten year olds, Taemin and Kai, were playing in the park on a sunny Saturday afternoon. They’re mothers were sitting on a nearby bench, conversing over coffee and magazines, while they’re played. They two boys had been bugging them to take them to the park so in order to make them stop bugging them, they went ahead and took them to the park.

And the reason they wanted to go to the park was all because of the swings.

Swings are such simple structures but they never failed to meet the expectations of children or adults. The feeling of sitting on one, swinging back and forth with the air whooshing by them was always exhilarating. They were especially perfect for pretending to fly.

Taemin and Kai were currently pumping their legs back and forth forcefully, trying to swing higher than the other.

“I’m higher! See?” Taemin called.

“No! I’m almost in space!” Kai said with a wide grin on his face as he felt closer to the sky.

Swings really do make a childhood complete.
