It was during fifth period calculus when Kai felt his phone in his pocket buzz, signaling a text message. It made him curious. Who was texting him at this time? No one ever did because everyone Kai knew also knew that he was in school right now.

After quickly checking around for the teacher, Kai reached for his phone and frowned when he didn’t recognize the number. He opened the message and tried to hide a smile after reading what it said.

Er…Hi. I’m Kim SaeJin, Jonghyun’s cousin. He gave me your number and told me to try talking to you sometime…so I guess this is the time. I hope you don’t think I’m weird.

Kai replied quickly, not typing much so he could get back to work without his teacher noticing. Hi, I’m Kai, but I’m sure you know that already. And I don’t think you’re weird. I’ll talk to you later when I’m finished with class.

Bouncing his leg underneath his desk and constantly stealing glances at the clock, the class didn’t seem to end quickly enough for Kai. At long last, the bell finally rang and Kai shot up from his seat, being the first one out of the room. He whipped his phone out and composed a reply to SaeJin: Back. Hope you weren’t very bored.

SaeJin responded almost immediately, I’m coming to Seoul next week for Jjong’s birthday. Will I see you there?

Absolutely. He’s my best friend’s boyfriend and my friend, so I’ll be there, Kai smiled as he typed the message, excited that they’d be able to meet soon.

I’m looking forward to it then. :)

Kai adorned a happy smile the rest of the day.
