When all the things are getting clear... does heart still know better?

[Dining Room]

The room is filled with silence. All I can hear is my own munch of food, and some few sounds either from Seohyun's side or from Grandpa and Grandma Seo's.

I wasn't expecting this. I thought the breakfast will be filled of talks, but turned out not. Aigoo. Not really use to this. I use to eat, chatting happily. Especially along with my grandmother.

"So... Grandpa, is it really alright, we can ride the horse?" Breaking her silence, Yoona ask her grandfather once again. Honestly, just couldn't take the odd atmosphere in the table.

Dong Gun, stop his meal, as he looks at his grandchild. "But that's only if you'll promise to come back before sunset." He said.

Seohyun also put her utensils on the side, staring back to Yoona with a frown. "What were you planning, Yoona?"

"Hehe, horseback riding?" Yoona grins. She hasn't mentioned it to the younger girl.

"Well, it doesn't matter to me, when will you come back. Just make sure, Yoona, you are coming back with my Joohyun safely." grandma Seo shared her opinions.

Seohyun however, doesn't know if she'll agree or not. But as she thought it well, she needs to oppose. "But Yoona, I think it's better we'll come back right before lunch. I still have something to do."

"Chincha?" Yoona doesn't seem to know. "What is it?"

Seohyun sigh, knocking Yoona's head. "You know exactly what I am talking about."

"I know?" Still, Yoona is puzzled.

"Aish! I have told you earlier!" Seohyun hissed, doesn't like Yoona's play.

Yoona shrug her shoulders. "I really don't know what you are talking about, Joohyun!"

"Um wait, girls. Let's continue our meal before we can continue also our conversation. It's not good that we let the meal wait." Grandpa Im interrupe, a little displease by the youngsters, talking in front of the meal. 

"Yeah, I agree. That can wait." Grandma Seo also supported her lover's decision.

"I'm sorry grandpa..."

"I'm sorry grandma."

Both youngsters stop with their little argument, shutting their mouth in the process. Obediently, they both resumed their meal. Yet, Yoona who is excited to enjoy the day, keeps on nudging her lover in the side, through her leg.  The young brunette could stop and nudge her doe-eyed lover back in revenge. They keep doing it until they feel like, reaching for their hands, and soon, they're holding to each other under the table.

Dong Gun and Chae Young looked at each other, then let out a sigh, as they continue to finish their meal peacefully.

Soon, the room is engaged with silence atmosphere once again.

Later in the day....

"Yoona wait!" Before Yoona could even step outside the mansion, she heard a voice, that made her her back.

 "Oh, Grandpa?" She approach her grandfather, wearing a curious stare.

Grandpa Im look around for the meantime, before He turned his attention back to his one and only grandchild. "Can I have a moment with you?"

"Hmm, if that will not take some time, sure." Yoona simply said. "What is it, anyway?"

"Come with me." Grandpa Im took that chance, and lead Yoona towards his office. Yoona simply followed behind, until they reach the office and sat down across with each other peacefully.

Yet, before even Grandpa can start the conversation, He suddenly stood on his feet and approach his desk in the side. He opened the drawer and picked up something from inside, before he went back and sat down again across Yoona.

"The Notebook?" Yoona know the thing so well.

"Yes. I have two copies of this, one as my personal, and one is from your grandmother. Did She gave you the other?" 

Yoona nod her head so innocently. "Yes. And that was the way for me and... Joohyun to know about your first love Grandpa."

"I'm glad. I'm glad you understand about it." Grandpa softly uttered, happy that there's nothing he can explain towards the doe-eyed girl.

"But... can I ask a question, Grandpa? Did you even love my grandma?" Taking the opportunity, Yoona wanted to know right on her grandfather's lips, that her theories are right. Her theory that He never loved her Grandma Im. She really couldn't help and be curious, at the same time, she wanted to understand.

Grandpa didn't say something. Instead, he opened the book and flip the pages. He stops at the certain page and somehow, picked up something. It turns out to be a picture, which he handed to Yoona.

"Is this you and... father, Grandpa?" Yoona smiled as she can see a father and a baby in his arms in the picture.

Reaching for Yoona's hand, Grandpa Im held her gently and look on her eyes so intent. Yoona look at him, nonchalantly only.

"Yoona, Yes. I love your grandma. However, not the same amount, with how much... I love... Chae Young. I know... you are big enough, to understand that." Grandpa said so softly. He briefly smiled before he proceeds, "And... as you can see in the picture, it's your father... " He paused for a moment, thinking on how will he reveal the truth. But He is hesitating. He couldn't do it, knowing he is going to hurt her. He is going to shatter her heart. But When Yoona is now holding him back, and her eyes were so full of attention to him, He knows he needs to spill the beans at the very moment. Yoona has the right to know the entire truth, she keep for almost the decade.

It's now or never.

"Im Yoona... your late father... "

"What about him?" Yoona is getting goosebumps, for some unknown reason she couldn't point it out. It's like, there was something interesting in her grandpa's mind? 

Yet, before Yoona could guess what's in her grandfather's mind, the door opens. She turned her head behind, only to see grandma Seo, approaching casually their seats. 

"What's going on here?" ask her, getting more confused.

Grandma Seo sat down next to Dong Gun. Within that moment, she was enveloped by a warm hug from her first love.

"Okay. I get this. You guys want to talk something in regards to my relationship with Seohyun?" Yoona guesses, earning a puzzle look from the two elders in front of her. "Or... you guys want to tell me that you both agreed not to continue the love you two started? Tell me if it is, coz I'm sure, the world is just amazing to have two unselfish people. Hehe... " Yoona then joke, somehow, just to put some smiles on their faces.

Chae Young and Dong Gun shared a brief stare, before they look back to Yoona, not sure if its going to be okay or not. However, both know that it's the best for them. It's the best for the family.

"Yoona... " Dong Gun once again started, while holding Chae Young's right hand.

"Just spill it." Yoona roll her eyes, getting impatient.

Taking another breath, Dong Gun continued, “Yoona your grandmother—“

“Yoona, we came to realize that… going back to Seoul is honestly a must.” Chae Young interrupted, earning Dong Gun’s puzzle look to her. She smiled to him, and once again turned to Yoona.

“So you both agreed that the love you guys have started is—“

“Nope. We’ll go back to Seoul together, Yoona. Seohyun, your grandpa, and I. We are all going back to Seoul.” Grandma Seo uttered.

“Chincha?”

“Yes. And before that, Doongie.” Chae Young simply replied, before she once again turned to stare at her lover. She gives him a supporting pat on his chest, allowing him to continue.

Dong Gun can't wait any longer and started her most intention of calling Yoona in her office.

Seohyun was outside in front of the big fountain, waiting patiently for Yoona to come back. That doe-eyed girl who ask her to wait for a while because she forgot something, hasn't come back for almost an hour now. Her patience is getting so thin. Moreover, her excitement for horseback riding has slowly subsided, realizing that the girl who will teach her is not going to come back quick.

"Aish! What took her time?" can't stop thinking of her, Seohyun keeps on stomping her feet. She began to walk back and forth, trying to convince herself that in any moment, that doe-eyed girlfriend of her will finally show herself.

However, as time passes. Specifically, another 15 minutes had passed, there were no 'Yoona' that surprise her, nor 'Yoona' came down to that long stairs, connecting to the main big door. 

The only person who came out is Kim Tae Hee, Dong Gun's business partner, wearing a friendly smile, as she passes through her. 

Seohyun did greet her friendly, but it quickly disappears. She hastily jogs towards the door and went in the mansion. 

"Yoona?! Aren't you done?" The moment she was in, she couldn't help and impatiently called out so loud her girlfriend. As she passes the living room, and all the way to the stairs, she stop half way when she heard something from somwehere.

When another loud voice was heard, she instantly had this feeling that it came to the office, just below the stairs. On her right side.

"What was that." For some unknown reason, her heartbeats began to beat so fast. She couldn't get it why. And her hair at the back of her neck, stands, as if something wasn't right.

She held onto the handrails tightly for a brief moment, before her instincts slowly move for her.

[Office]

"Yoona... your father. He's... my son.... and... " Dong Gun took a brief glance to Chae Young before He continued, "Chae Young's son. Your late father is Chae Young and I's son. Which means, Yoona... your real grandmother is right here, by my side. Meet Chae Young. Kim Chae Young. She's your real grandmother." He finished, softly and calmly. But his hold over his lover's hand tigthens. "I'm sorry, Honey~ If I lied to you~". He also apologized.

"Yes. And Yoona, you and Seohyun are cousins. I mean, half cousins? I don't know how to call that. Because your father and my son, in Seo Family are half brothers." Chae Young also supported the statement.

Yoona scoffs, out of disbelieve. "You are my grandmother? Oh come on. Can I laugh about it? That's a big joke, Grandpa. Tell me, what else do you know? Spill it. Hahahaha!" She wasn't sure on how will she react to the thing her grandfather is telling her, but she wanted to laugh at it. It amuse her for some reason.

"Yoona stop. You do kow that this is serious!" Dong Gun exclaimed, scolding the doe-eyed girl. 

"Doongie, your heart." Chae Young softly said, holding onto her lover to support him.

However, Yoona refuse to  listen. She stood up, putting her two hands in the air. "I'm sorry, but you guys can't make me believe that story. Who knows, you two are just making some lame story So you could prevent us from dating. Good Day~" She bowed in respect, and her back, ready to leave when,

"Yoona! I said STOP!" Dong Gun raises his voice. At the same time, He rose from his seat. "YOU AND JOOHYUN ARE NOT MEANT TO BE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO DENY THE FACT!" 

Chae Young can only hang her head low, afraid that her migraine will occur once she'll join the two.

Yoona on the other hand, stopped, turning her body around again to face her grandfather. Her eyes changes. It is apparently staring so intensely towards Dong Gun. 

"This is the reason why you can't go back to Seoul, right? But when Chae Young, came back into your life, you have this courage once again to go back?" Yoona sarcastically said, realizing it now. "You know what?! You're ridiculous. You are... coward! You are afraid to see my grandma because of what you did. Isn't it? Tell Me! Huh?!"

"Yes! I am! I admit it. I was, Yoona. But if you were in my position, will you able to face always the girl who you know, you can't make happy? Will you able to live with her, always, if you know yourself, your heart is not for her? And, will you able to forgive yourself, if you do know, you can't ever have a child with her? Yoona, your grandmother and I never had a child, because there was something wrong with her. And I had to say sorry to her, because she really loves your father, like her own son. She took care of my son, as if she is the mother. How can you forgive yourself about it? Tell me, what are you going to do if you were in my shoe?" Dong Gun finished her words with a single tear dropping in the corner of her eyes.

Yoona sneered, knowing how to respond.

"I'm not like you. I would be kind enough to try to love her, if I do know, she can also make me happy."

"You don't understand!" Dong Gun groans in frustration.

"YES I DO UNDERSTAND OLD MAN!” Yoona shouted out of anger. “I understand too well that your love for Chae Young doesn’t even care with how much you are hurting my grandmother!”  Her tears are starting to be visible in her eyes.

“Yoona! Calm down!” Chae Young butted, hoping she can stop the angry doe-eyed girl. But too late. Yoona eyed her like she has the biggest sin on earth.

“You know what old woman? Your Joohyun came all the way here, just to bring the happiness back, the happiness she ever had missed. I’m talking about her ‘family’.” Yoona slapped the word sharply. "And what's this? Don't you think this is good for the family? For her family?" She slowly approaches Chae Young on her seat, wanting to have a clear conversation. However, Dong Gun blocked her way right at the very moment she moved her legs.

“Yoona please...” Dong Gun whispered to Yoona’s ears.

Yoona step back, scoffing in disbelieve. But she eventually believes it right away—that her grandfather would be so gentleman for his lover.

“Oh well, I’m sorry. I think I lose my control. I’m sorry grandma.” Yoona coldly utters.

“It’s Okay Yoona.” Grandma Seo softly utters, looking down to her lap. “But, can I ask a favor?”

“Grandma, you don’t need to say something. I know what’s on your mind.” Yoona further said, before she step back more—away from them.

“Yoona, we are just doing this for you and Seohyun's own good. You can’t let this continue. I know you are mature enough to ever undrstand what I am talking about.” Dong Gun huskily answered this time. Yoona’s hurtful eyes are hurting him too. It’s like, the pain has double, staring at his granddaughter like that.

 It’s too unbearable, and He does knows, Yoona is in love with Seohyun deeply, which He can't do anything anymore.

“I’m sorry… but you can’t stop me.” Yoona finally let the tears in her eyes drops. Sobs soon has been created, as she keep on going. “You can’t stop me from feeling this towards Joohyun. True love only comes once—how do you suppose me to stop this? It’s the opportunity that I’ve been waiting. I’m going to kill myself If I will let this slide. I'm sorry. G-Good day, Grandpa. Grandma.”

She bitterly her back, ready to leave once again, when her knees got weaken—and she drops in the floor, only to make her cry and sobs harder.

The word ‘cousin’ seemed surreal. That feeling of blood related even more unrealistic. Sure enough, she’s only dreaming. She’s only in the beginning of the day again, where she needs to wake up to reality—which is full of rainbow and unicorns. Of course, with her girlfriend, Joohyun.

But it seems she's not dreaming.

She can feel the pain in her heart. That constantly denying the fact.

“Tell me, Joohyun and I are just strangers, Grandma. She's not your grandchild. Please!!!” She begs, crying so loud in the room. For a moment, Yoona wanted to let all the tears in her eyes fell down, so she could be whole again after this. So She could do the horse back riding with Seohyun later. But no, the truth is something like an arrow. It's too painful. She couldn't bear it. How much more if they'll separate? She's not going to take it.

"Yoona, wake up. Seohyun is my grandchild. She IS  your cousin." Chae Young firmly said, brave enough.

“Yoona, we have to separate you two. This is the only way we can stop the mistake.” Dong Gun wanted to help her grandchild, yet, He stop.

Yoona spoke again.

“No way. NO WAY!!!!” Yoona scream, shaking her head furiously. She then gets on her feet and turned to her grandfather once again. “You can’t separate me with the love of my life.” She said, before she finally left the room—slamming the door in the process.

Dong Gun and Chae Young were both stunned.

Seohyun was already outside the mansion, when she saw Yoona jogging towards her. But before she could even greet her, Yoona surprisingly grab her hand and drags her towards the car that was parked on the side. She wanted to ask what happen, but all that a while, Yoona is quiet, until they drive off the place.

Along the road, She was in the side, staring so worriedly to Yoona who is driving like there’s no tomorrow. If she can remember it well, Yoona’s loud voice inside the room is the reason why She left the place right away. It’s even the reason why she is now feeling her nervousness towards the girl she love the most.

What Happened? It’s the first question that came to her mind when she saw Yoona earlier. But right now, staring at her tears in her cheeks, her question changes.

“Yoona, are you Okay?”

Yoona looked at her, finally. But only to put a small smile and nod, then her attention went back to the road.

“Um, where are we going? Aren’t we supposed to ride a horse?” Seohyun also wonders why are they getting away from the ranch.

“I’ve changed my mind. We are not going there.” Yoona said, huskily. She took a deep breath, as she wiped the new tears that was constantly dropping in front of her girlfriend’s eyes.

“Chincha?” Seohyun flash a bright smile. “Where? I would like to know.” Even though her heart is aching, the way Yoona’s tears are dropping non stop. She wanted to ask about it, but she is afraid. She is afraid that it will worsen her mood. So her fake smile is the best she can do. Who knows, it can stop Yoona's tears.

“Um… I don’t know yet, actually. But I promise, it’s going to be a good place. It’s going to be a beautiful, place.” Yoona said, a little breathless once again, when she failed to stop herself from sobbing. It's hard to act normal when her heart is already shattered.

Seohyun can’t hold it any longer. She reaches for Yoona’s hand and hold her tight. “I don’t’ know what happened, but Yoona, please… don’t ever let go of this hand.” she said.

Yoona stop the car suddenly, and quickly turned to Seohyun. She cupped her face in both sides, trying to find the words to say, but her mind. It’s messy. She couldn’t even stare at her without blinking. The last time, She can do that without blinking because she is mesmerized. But right now, as the truth is inside her head, she couldn’t. She couldn’t think straight.

Without any doubt, she releases her hold and began to bump her forehead to the steering wheel.

“Yoona! Stop! What are you doing?!” Seohyun quickly hold Yoona’s head and try to stop her.

Yoona did stop. “Seohyun. Why is this happening?!!!” But her tears are not stopping. It keeps on dropping each time She can hear or feel Seohyun’s hand over hers.

“Yoongie, hold on.” Doesn’t know a thing yet, Seohyun pulled Yoona’s head and put it on her shoulders. She held her waist in her left hand, while rubs her hair there. Comfort. She knows her girlfriend needs it. "Shshsh... please stop crying now, Yoongie."

Yoona sobs harder, holding in Seohyun’s arms tightly as she cold—as if her world will crush if she ever going to let go of her. Of course, she is not going to do that. She will not.

 If She will, she knows it’s not going to be easy.

She’ll be shattered. She’ll be insane. She’ll not be Yoona again, as what she is right now.

“Seohyun, let’s run away.” She muttered, bitterly.

“Pardon?” came Seohyun's husky voice. She couldn't get the idea.

Leaning away, Yoona looked at Seohyun in her eyes without blinking anymore. Seohyun is staring at her, still so confused. But she let Yoona do her thing.

Yoona cupped her face and kissed her lips deeply before she whispered near her ears,

“Let’s run away from here--To a place where we can pretend, it’s only the two of us—living in this world. Come what may, I promise, this is going to be forever.”

2.2

Yoona finally pulled over the car in front of a restaurant. It's been half an hour now, when she decided to run away with the love of her life. And an hour had passed also when Seohyun confusedly agreed with her decision. Although she didn't tell her the reason, She was glad that Seohyun is willing to run away with her. 

Glancing at the girl next to her, She smiled so warmly to the sleeping girl. Her eyes slowly look down to their intertwined hands, which she made a sigh. Seohyun's soft hands, always makes her flutter. It's just amazing, that at this very moment, she is thinking about them. She is thinking about what could be their future? Now that they're away from the people she knows will only create heartaches from the both of them.

Yoona swear, she's going to protect her. She's going to make her every single day, full of happiness. It's not a promise, but for her to do.

Just cheering herself with what she promises, it made her heart calm. The pain she felt a while ago slowly subsided. Yoona couldn't think of anything anymore, but only to spend the rest of her life.

"Like what you said, I'm not going to let go of this hand no matter what." Yoona whispers to herself, staring so intently to their hands. She gives her a rub gently, as she closes her eyes, tiredly. She breath in and out, smoothly so calm. Yoona had smile once again, feeling her heart overwhelmed by the warm hands, she is sharing with the younger. She put Seohyun's hand on top of her heart, as she keeps on breathing. Her chest is going up and down, as slowly, she fell asleep.

She didn't notice, Seohyun is slowly opening her eyes. The young brunette let out a big yawn, once she opened her eyes. She glances outside, only to put her eyebrows rising. She groans smoothly, as her eyes read the text of the certain building in front of her eyes.

"Amore Ristorante". She utters. Turning her attention to the driver's seat, that's when she realized why she couldn't barely move. Her hand was on Yoona's hold, making her smile at the sight of her lover.

"Aigoo. She must be tired." she sigh, gently squeezing her soft hands. 

Suddenly, her phone vibrated in her pocket. Seohyun almost forgot that she actually had her phone inside. Hastily, she uses her right hand, bringing the phone out.

Incoming call...

Grandma

"Grandma?" She put another rising eyebrows, reading the caller id. Seohyun once again took a glance to Yoona on the side, a little hesitant to wake Yoona up just because she is going to answer her grandmother. Oh well, she can just use her right hand. However, she has  difficulties upon pressing the answer button. Her phone is quite big, which her thumb couldn't seem to reach the answer button. Glancing back again to Yoona, she slightly hissed, as she decided to pull her hand off of the doe-eyed grasp. But for some unknown reason, it got tighten. Seohyun sigh, and once again took a glance to the incoming call.

Her grandmother is not ending, it must be some important calls She needed to answer.

But how can she? 

She can't force to pull her hand off of Yoona. 

The doe-eyed girl seemed not even letting her go.

For a moment, Seohyun contemplated. She keep on glancing from the phone, then back to Yoona. Yet, she couldn't seem to continue. The call has ended, and it feels relieved. But a message has been received, after the call.

"I wonder why grandma wants to talk?" ask her, in no one in particular, staring at her phone screen. 

"Hmm... Joohyun... " Yoona opened her eyes, smiling like an idiot instantly, when her eyes caught the sight of her angel. "You are up?"

Seohyun shifted her eyes to Yoona right away. "Yeah. And you are holding my hand when I woke up. Oh, even until now." she said, smiling the same way.

Yoona look down to her chest, only to form a grin on her lips. "I just feel like, I want to hold your hand while I sleep." 

"I don't mind, though." Seohyun replied.

"Chincha?"

"Aigoo. But can you please... release it now?" Seohyun softly ask. She squeezes Yoona's hand so gentle, asking for her to let go.

Yet, the doe-eyed girl flash another smile towards her and,

"My kiss, first."

Seohyun scoffs. "How
