My Bride 22
YoonHyun's Story
22 | Paradise
Standing with her chin up, wearing a sunglasses, the doe-eyed beauty yelled - "Leader Jung!" or more like, she called out the guard's attention. The latter looked back at her, frowning.
"Your guards are so weak... aren't they?" She was all confident, stepping closer - but not too close to the guards, standing in front of her. Even though that bump on her forehead was still visible, she doesn't care. It's her last chance before the sun will set.
"I apologized also for the bump in your head, Lady Im." The leader of the guards bowed.
Yoona crossed her arms, and looked at the guards one by one to their eyes. She slightly grimace - As all of them seemed having the same intentions - stop her from going any farther. But her mission is to pass them no matter what. Her mission has two things; pass the guards, get on the car, and drive off without any intentions of stopping.
"I suggest to go back to the Villa and enjoy the sunset in the beach instead, Lady Im. You'll just hurt yourself again."
Yoona chuckled sarcastically. "Are you sure with your words? Why would Im Yoona follow your orders? An Im doesn't follow any orders from a stranger - especially from Grandma's guard..." with her last words, she her back and a smirk formed into her lips. Taking a deep breath, she put her hood on her head and face the guards -- but only to run forward so fast. The guards immediately alerted and tried to stopped her. Yet, this time, she was fast from avoiding all of them one by one. It's like in an action movie, she uses her strength and kicked them, punch them, and she even made some flips here and there. Her technique was easy, move a lot so the guards can't catch her.
When she was able to passed them all. "See you tomorrow again Leader Jung!" she merong before rushing to the car that was parked just nearby. But just when she arrived there, a taller man suddenly appeared in front of her, readying himself to catch her.
"Lady... just go back to the Villa." He said and advances forward.
However, Yoona was on alert -- quickly grabbing the man's wrist and throw him aside as far as he could get. The man fell down on the grass, which is an eye opening for Yoona to escape. Rushing to the car, she immediately step inside and hurriedly put on her seat belt, squealed the tires and drove off. Not minding if she's hitting on the guards that were stopping her. Just the thought of spending just one night with her fiancee, she has no reason to stop herself. She has no more reason to miss this chance.
"I'm coming baby... don't ya worry now." she smirked, eyes on the road while she drives victoriously. Her phone was ringing on the pocket of jacket, she didn't even mind it.
Meanwhile, Sooyoung was at the edge of the pool, sitting on a marble floor, hoping that the doe-eyed girl will answer her call. But to her dismay, she wasn't answering. She decided to end the call and called Yuri this time.
"Yoona - I thought she can't pass all the guards... unfortunately, she seemed to spend her time practicing on how to kick and punch earlier - She succeeded." said her, the moment Yuri answered the call.
[Just like what I had expect. She really can't live without her. Aigoo, Yoona sure is obsses now with her fiancee. With Seohyun, I mean.]
"You really can say so. You know what she did earlier the moment you guys left the Villa? Oh my God, I need to keep myself in the pool because she's crying... like a real cry of a baby. I don't know what to do. The maid suggested to just let her."
[Really? Seohyun also cried earlier... and it was because of that trust issue again. I really thought they need to see each other tonight - because I felt that there was a problem they're not sharing to us.]
"So did you ask Seohyun about that?"
[The thing that she had cry last night?]
"Yup."
[She didn't say it directly but she knew it that this wedding started with the money. And that was the time she shared she was confused with her feelings right now. Aigoo, if you were here - You really can see how much she wanted to trust Yoona... but I thought there was something bothering her that she couldn't trust her back... fully. She was really heart broken I have to say.]
"Tch, just when the wedding is just in 2 days, they're so immature - fighting."
[Can't I agree?]
"No You can't." Sooyoung chuckles. "Now, what am I going to do here? It's freaking only me here. Yuri, I miss you."
[Aww... I miss you too Soo. I miss hitting you. Hahaha!]
Sooyoung rolled her eyes. "I miss my partner in crime."
[You're so funny but stupid! I am hanging up now. Seohyun is calling me.]
"Okay. Don't miss me too much." Sooyoung teases, giggling. But instead of an answer, an end tone of the call answered her back. She shake her head slowly, as she put her phone back to the bench. Then she lowered herself to the water and just enjoy again her leisure time. It's gonna be fun tonight - she's owning the villa.
[Baros Maldives, Resort]
After the call, Yuri proceeds on meeting Seohyun half-way to the lounge of the resort. The girl was currently carrying two plates. "What's that?" which made her amuse. She looks like a waiter in her apron.
"Sea foods? What do you like? Salt and pepper Shrimps or Crab Curry. There's also baked lobsters." Seohyun brightly suggested. Finally feeling better after Yuri's words.
Yuri was amuse, yet, she step forward and took a closer look of the luxury foods on the girl's grasp. She has to say, they're really mouth watering. Which is definitely difficult to choose one. "How can I choose?"
"You have to choose one, Yuri." said Seohyun additionally.
Yuri pointed all of it. "Can I have all of these?"
"I told-"
"You're going to cook anyway. Just cook us a lot, Hmm?" Yuri giggle. She pinched the girl's puffy cheeks, earning her cute smile.
"Who was on the phone, by the way?" But the girl seemed interested with the person on the next line earlier, as well. "Was it Yoona?" comes her longing question. Eyes didn't missed and sparkled to the mention of the girl, on .
"Nope. It's Soo. Aigoo, stop asking about her. She's enjoying her time in the Villa."
"She doesn't seem to miss me, right?" Seohyun sighed. Though she honestly broke up with the girl, she has no reason to miss the deer's presence. She had thought about it already for the entire day. Breaking up with her is not a solution to their problem -- no, literally just her problem. It'll only cause more heart aches if she continue like that.
Yuri crossed her arms. "If I tell you she doesn't missed you, what are you going to do? Or... what do you want to feel?"
"I don't know. I just miss her." Seohyun smiled, a little. "I'll go back to the kitchen." and decided to return on the kitchen.
Yuri pursed her lips and loudly replied; "She misses You, Babo!"
"Chincha?" Seohyun stopped on her tracks but didn't turn to face the tan girl. "How sure are you?"
"Well Soo said... she cried. She cried in the Villa. That's not like she doesn't miss you, right?"
Seohyun turn to face the Yuri with her wide grin. "She misses me a lot." commented her, before finally going inside to the kitchen.
Yuri snickered, shaking her head slowly. She can't believe that the more she spend time with the other girl, the more she noticed how much she got even younger... and ier? Who wouldn't? They've been spending their times in the beach. Grandma can't even stop herself and be a ert Grandma again. Turning on her back, she dragged her feet outside the lounge and proceeds to their Villa -- wherein, they are staying at three bed rooms cottage villa.
Arriving, she immediately noticed a noise from the pool area of their place. She couldn't get it clearly, so she proceeds to the pool and saw Grandma was at the edge of it, sitting while talking to someone on a phone call. She has no interest somehow. So she decided to leave and went inside her room. Just at least a little taking her rest after that fun she shared with Seohyun earlier.
"Yuri? Are you there?" Yet, before she could close her eyes, she heard Grandma's voice outside - so loud.
"Yes. Why?" Yuri sat up on her bed.
"I'm following Seohyun outside, will you be Okay, here?" Grandma asked in concern.
Yuri thought for quite a moment before she has decided. "Yup. I'm Okay. But don't forget to wake me up when the food is ready."
"Of course, Honey."
"Okay. Thank You, Grandma." with that, The tan girl lie on her back again. She heard footsteps, which means, Grandma has already left their cottage. She smiled to her own, as she can now sleep and rest all by herself.
Seohyun was in the middle of listening to the chef instructions when she heard her phone beeps under her pocket. She excused herself and took her phone out to check who the hell disturbed her class with the chef.
It made her really smile when she read the sender name... and her message.
from Shinye Unnie:
[2 days!!! Just 2 days already. Oh I can't wait to see the pictures.
Make sure to take a lot, Okay?
If only I am there. I will really take a lot of it. I can't take this T.T
anw, best wishes my dongseng. I'm so proud of you. And so looking forward to see you and Yoona back here in Seoul.
I love you ♥ ]
How happy she was reading the message from her sister. But at the same time, she felt a little sad that she can't able to share it with her... especially to her parents. But she's going to make sure, this wedding won't be missed. She would really take a lot of photos to share it to them. Instead of the usual message, she opened her selfie and took a picture of herself. Then she sent it to her sister, with a captain that says,
to Shinye Unnie:
[ Yes!!! It's 2 days before the wedding!!!
Unnie, I'm so happy that you are supporting me as well. But I feel a little sad too that I can't able to share this to you.
I love you so much. Send my regards to Mom and Dad <3
P.S. I'm at the kitchen, having some little class with a chef. Hehe... in preparation of becoming a wife to my Nippy~
Miss You!]
With that, she put her phone back to her pocket and turned to the chef again. "Shall we resume now, chef Mith?" Just when she's about to begin again, the door in the kitchen opens. Grandma walked in, wearing a sweet smile towards her in law.
"How is it going on here?"
Seohyun tilt her head, greeting the latter with the same smile. "It's fine, Grandma. I'm learning." she confirmed, also showing a thumbs up.
"That's good. Chef Mith, how was Seohyun as a student?" Grandma said in fluent English, also acknowledging the presence of the French chef.
"Adorable, Grandma." Chef Mith replied, showing also a thumbs up. "She's all willing to do whatever I am instructing her." added him, while he was busy cutting some carrots and put it on a pan. Then he got busy with everything when he started to resume the class again.
Grandma Im decided to stay on the side, only watching her soon to be in law... whilst admiring her beauty - Not just outside by also inside. She needs to be honest, when she saw this girl in an unfortunate scene, she was captivated, but when she got to know her -- she got to live with her for a span of 2 weeks now, the more she knows her. She realize, she's admirable, and adorable. Grandma has no more reasons to search for anyone that would fit her grandchild. She is definitely the one. In another note, she envied her grandchild for having this girl in her life. Heck, she's thankful. Her wish really came true... was about to come true. And that is the most awaited wedding.
Seohyun flash a brief sweet smile to Grandma when she noticed the elder was staring at her while she's busy moving from left to right; to the pan then to the ingredients, following all the instructions the chef was talking about.
A few moments later, Seohyun finished her own dishes of lobsters; A bake stuffed lobster, lobster bisque soup and lobster pasta. All was decorated according to her own taste of design, which basically was praised by her chef.
Since they can't bring the dishes to their cottage, they proceeds to the resort's main dining room instead. Grandma who promised to wake Yuri up texted the tan girl.
to Yuri:
[ The dinner is up. You should come over the resort's dining room before I and Seohyun finish all of these food. keke. ]
After that, she returned her attention to the younger girl, who was currently across her, busy fixing the designs of her own cook.
"Tch, look at this girl. You're loving it, No?" Grandma teases, placing her phone in the corner of the table.
Seohyun stirred up to brightly smiled to the elder. "I am Grandma. Thank you so much for allowing me to meet the chef. He's really a good teacher. I learned a lot. I hope I could attend a culinary art class after this wedding." her plans had change, after the chef introduces her to more food in the kitchen earlier.
"Oh, dear. You sure you are going to do that -- you'll be an Im's wife. And take note, Yoona eats a lot."
"Yeah, that's why I'm going to learn. I know she has a lot of tastes. I want us to eat always at home instead of restaurants."
"That's really a good idea... Hyun. You know, it's better to eat at home, because there's always the privacy there... and... you can enjoy it well when it's in your own place."
"You have the point Grandma, but for me... I want to cook for Yoona, always..." Seohyun said, a bit shy with a blush on her cheeks that never missed the elder's eyes. Grandma smiled so teasingly at her.
"That's so sweet for you, Seohyun."
"Hehe, Honestly... I got this from Omma. She always says that through food -- she can show her love for Appa, and to us... her family."
"Your mother was sure good at cooking too."
"Not literally... but she do love cooking Grandma."
Grandma shrug her shoulders. "Every mother loves to cook."
"Hehe, Yes." Seohyun sheepishly replied. "But talking about mother... you've mentioned the last time, Yoona hated more her mother than her father? I only know - she hated them because they decided to have a divorce? I mean, both parties agreed? And I thought... her parents just don't love each other anymore? How come she hated more of her mother? I-I... honestly don't get that part, Grandma."
Grandma Im doesn't want to share it, but since the younger wanted to know, she felt that - it needed to be share with her as well. She'll be a family anyeay. "That in-law of mine, Yoona's mother... she honestly has another man."
"What?" Seohyun gasped, didn't expect it.
"It started when Yoona is still so young at the age of seven - when she was caught by her own daughter, having an affair. That day on, Yoona never liked to talk to her. It comes to the point that she always get home around dawn, just to avoid seeing her mother at home. She didn't tell her father at first, but When her father also found out, she was devastated. Her father brought the divorce. Her mother had never think twice and... agreed to the divorce. Poor Yoona, she can't choose one of them... because she thinks, both of them had a mistake. Her father, being so workaholic has no more time for family... the reason why her mother got an affair. It's so unfortunate for her, truly. That's why it was only me and her sister that she decided to trust. She grow up in her sister's care until she meet you. It change somehow."
"No wonder, in my sister's wedding... she was also there." Seohyun recalled.
"She was seventeen that time when you guys met, right? Aww, what a fate." Grandma truly admire the two. Her eyes are sparkling visibly to Seohyun's eyes.
"Yes, Grandma. And that time... she was already popular among girls because she's not just so charming, she also works hard."
"And a player. I know you know the reason of it?"
"She doesn't believe in commitment that last forever." Seohyun replied knowingly. She still recalls when Yoona shared everything that she believes. And she wanna stick on that - not until today. It seems Yoona is working on it now.
"That's why I had tell my grandchild to bring the very girl she honestly want to spend the rest of her life. I didn't regret that it was you, Joohyun. You're such a great fiancee... really... ier than Angelina Jolie." Grandma giggles, can't help it and praise the younger girl.
Seohyun smiled, flattered. "T-Thank you, Grandma." but awkward at the same time, because the elder had mention her iness again.
"But my grandchild is not a Brad Pitt. She seriously needs more time to work on how to take care of you. What do you suggest?"
"What do... you propose, Grandma?" Seohyun was a bit puzzled.
"I mean, do you think I should bring her to a class so she can have her lessons on how to take care a girl... appropriately?"
Seohyun frantically wave her hand. "No-No... Grandma. She doesn't needs it. My fiancee knows how to take care of me. She's so caring, don't you know that?" she suspects, the elder was thinking about Hyuna the other time. Yoona surely had a little trouble that time.
"Chincha? Like what?" Grandma is not convinced.
Seohyun pause, thinking for quiet a moment, before she had her reply. "I think...when she always ask me if I have eaten... and when I'm... working, she always take care of buying me food. Then every time I am sick, she would always remind me to take care of my meds, or else, she will force me to take it... Yeah, I always like that side of her." She was smiling so warm to Grandma, recalling some few of her memories with Yoona.
Grandma Im was about to answer when she heard her phone ringing on the side, she was disturbed. "I'll take this first." which she reached and she decided to excuse herself.
Seohyun reached for that glass of water on the side, to have her drink. That then, she noticed the absence of the tan girl. She recalled, Grandma send a text message to her - which was already for a while now. "Where's Yuri?" Looking around, she couldn't spot the tan girl. Reaching for her phone on the side as well, she just finally noticed Yuri's text message.
from Yuri:
[ I came out to check on the car.
Be there in 30 minutes. Sorry, I'll be late. keke ]
She just shrugged the text and put her phone on the side again. A bright smile just appeared on her face again when she returned her attention to their foods -- she cooked. Feeling so proud, she took her phone again, but only to take some photos of it. She took a total of 25 photos before she got satisfied and when she was done, she caught Grandma is approaching now on their table. The latter is smiling so meaningfully to her, until she took her seat back.
"Waeyo? You look so happy, Grandma?" Seohyun couldn't help it and noticed the change of expressions from the old woman.
Grandma giggle. "I just love this day, Seohyun. I mean, this night."
"Me too. Thanks for bringing us here."
"Oops, it's not only today my dear... we are staying here until the wedding day in the morning." Grandma corrected. "Remember?"
"Yeah, the couple shouldn't see each other yet." Seohyun sheepishly reminded herself. She almost forgot about it, though.
"Wait, Where's Yuri?"
"Oh, she's outside, checking her car Grandma. You know, she's also fond of cars, just like Yoona." Seohyun stated fact.
"No wonder she wasn't around yet. So are we going to wait for her or we'll start the dinner now?"
"You Grandma."
The address elder groaned. "I'd like to eat now. I'm hungry already."
"I don't think it's rude to do this... but yes, I agree with you Grandma. Let's just eat now." without a doubt, Seohyun was convinced. She smiled brightly, even though she herself is already hungry as well. Grandma didn't say something anymore and just lead their dinner.
Meanwhile, outside the Resort, Yoona arrived before the clock strikes seven. But since she planned not being seen from her Grandma either Yuri, she put on her hood while she took her backpack from the trunk. Turning around, she didn't even have a step forward when she was greeted by an unknown girl.
"Yoona? Is that you? Omo! What are you doing here? Wow! It's been a while. Huh?" And much to her dismay, it seems that its one of her ex-girlfriends. She has a little familiarity, but she doesn't know her name.
The girl approached her -- observing her from head to toe. "Oh, you haven't change. You still look so dashing."
Yoona couldn't answer back. She steps backward instead, which cause her back hit the back of the car. The girl took that chance and -
"Don't you remember me?"
Yoona smiled awkwardly, as she looked at the girl, trying to recognize her. But to her dismay, she can't. "A-are you... um... D-Dara?" So she just guessed.
The girl wearing a blue skirt and black top frowned at her answer. She was about to correct her when Yoona beat her to speak.
"Or was it... Chorong?" Yoona guessed again. She seriously has no idea who the girl was. For years, never once she tried to keep in touch to one of her girls. After breakups, she would immediately delete their contacts to her phone. Except for fresh breakups.
"Chorong? Who the hell is that girl? Yah! It's Wendy!" The girl corrected strongly.
