..::Something to Believe in::..
[Seo Residence]
[What? Are you Okay?]
"I told you I am not. My toe is so big now. How can I go to work like this?" a hissed can be heard in the other line.
[which means, the filming is delayed?]
Seohyun pouts. "I'm sorry Oppa. Can you, do it for me? Can you tell them?"
[Tch, I'm not your manager if I don't care for you. Ara-ara, rest well. But before I forgot, call a doctor for that. Araso?]
"Yes. I already did. He's coming."
[That's good. So, see you the next day?]
"Yes, Oppa."
[Aigoo, If I don't have any work here... I'll visit you.]
Seohyun had a little smile hearing her manager's plan. "Okay. I'll be anticipating then."
[Okay. Bye~ take care Hyun~]
"You too Oppa." Seohyun ends the call, tossing her phone in her side. She's still in the bed, can't even get up. She regretted that she kicked that door.
"What else I can do? I just want to go out with her." she mutters. She moves her two feet from left to right, just to give her company for a while, while waiting for her cousin to come by. But then again, it bores her. So she decided to get up. She slowly places her two feet in the floor, but only to use a strength in her left foot, as she makes her stand up. She does it successfully.
All she needs to do is to reach for the door now. She hop for three times towards the door. "Yes!" and she successfully got the hold of the door knob. Twisting it open, she slowly pulls it, and hop again for three to four times before she had finally got herself out.
A sigh of relief escapes through her nose. She was holding onto the wall for a support while her right too is hanging still.
Thinking that she needs another strength to hop, she took a deep breath then hop from 5 to 6 times before she got a hold in the stair railings.
"Whoa! what a brave girl!" Suddenly a voice made her eyes alerted. A smile appears in her face to see the person. But before she could call for him, the person lifted her up already.
"Tsk,tsk,tsk... cous, you told me you are injured? What are you doing?" Seohyun pouts to her cousin's scold. She simply could slap his arm.
"Where's the kitchen?" Seohyun roll her eyes, pointing it down.
"Are you deaf or you just don't want to say my name?" Her cousin got annoyed to hear nothing from her.
"I am just happy to see you back. Kindly bring me down there, Mister Seo?" Seohyun teases.
"Aish! I told you my name cous!" Seohyun could simply giggle, while they climb down the stairs and finally into the kitchen. She was gently put down by her cousin in a chair, before the latter took his spot in front of the pan. Seohyun reaches for a green apple in the side, watching her cousin walking from the pan to her refrigerator. She’s smiling. A proud of smile, because she exactly knows him. He's Nick Seo, a chef. His father is his father's brother. They're not that close, but he is the best cousin he knew.
"Cous, did you bring some ingredients?" She asked, before she bit into her apple.
"Yes. I know you only have eggs and ramen yo. Tsk,tsk, I should start teaching you how to cook."
Seohyun almost choke on her fruit. Maybe because she was reminded by Yoona's constant scold with her to learn about cooking. "Nick, why do you always say that to me?" she asked, curiously. She thought Yoona and Nick are alike.
"Hmm? Oh, come on." Her cousin chuckles a softy. He sat across her and stared at her eyes deeply. "Tell me? Why are you alone too?"
"Because, I don't want my parents to get involved in any bad criticism? In any headaches that might involve me?" Seohyun said honestly.
"Okay, that's equivalent to why do I always want you to cook for yourself. Because, Cousin, a person who is living alone should learn about how to stand for herself. Don't Just like your work."
"You mean, being a celebrity?"
"Yup. Look at you. Just how successful are you now? and I am proud that you did that on your own. Without anyone's help—you got your dreams come true there. But look at yourself, you're spoiled by your success. Oh well, from your parents too. You still have a lot to learn you know." Nick said before she goes back to his business in front of the pan.
Seohyun thought for a moment, quite bothered with the word 'success'. "I'm... I'm indeed successful with my dreams right now. But why is there... something... missing?"
Nick was about to pour a wine in the pan when his cousin made him stop.
"That missing seems... not for my family. It's something relate to-"
"Romance?" Nick cut her off, turning her head behind. He set aside his wine in the meantime. "Is it Romance? Because base for your weary eyes right now? There were no sparkles." He noticed them.
"Yes?"
"People see you in dramas, acting that you have a lot of experience when it comes to romance. Love? Good Relationship? But they don't exactly know you don't even know how to act those words. Cous, I grow up seeing you as a loner. I thought you need romance in your life, that will sparkle your everyday life. Hmm?" Nick's eyes disappear into a crescent moon after uttering those words. He resumes on his cooking, leaving his cousin with a big question in her mind.
Romance? Good Relationship? Yoona? Seohyun thought, biting her apple once again. She thought it, from their past. It's exactly a year now. And what she got from it? A lot of sweet calls. But never did she experience the word 'Romance' personally. Love letters seem not enough. Loving someone as deep, that struck in her head when she had encountered that quote from the book. Does that include something more? Have she love Yoona deeply now? Or she hasn’t? But the pain in her heart. It is something for her.
"Cous? You think I really need it?" Seohyun knew she loves Yoona and she thought, it was her that will fulfil her emptiness.
"You thought so? Can you define love for me first?"
"Huh?"
"The word 'romance,' according to the dictionary, means excitement, adventure, and something extremely real. Romance should last a lifetime. That is just the same with love, correct me if I'm wrong." Nick snickers, realizing that he just answer his own question.
Seohyun sigh. "Love and Romance are the same you know." she dropped her hand in the table, staring down to her apple on hand.
"Yoona? How is she? I guess, something is bothering you why you are like that." Nick seem know. He turned around and saw his cousin playing with her apple. "I knew it. What happened?" He asked, going back again to his cooking. He chops some potato in the side while he keeps the pan hot.
"Yoona and I. We broke up last night... and... I don't think it's even right. I realize, it was a mistake." Seohyun couldn't help and gripped to her apple. Her broken heart is just too unbearable.
"Hmm... You know what lack in your relationship with her? Personal attachment. I mean, to be able to have a good relationship with someone else, personal relationship is a must. And that’s the problem there."
"Yes." Seohyun simply could sigh.
"What really happened?" Nick got curious. He has been hearing a lot from his cousin’s personal love life, but he has never seen her like that. As if the world ignores her.
Seohyun’s nails dug slowly to her green apple. "I can't tell it entirely, but... I just knew I was offended. I understand Yoona's point, but she doesn't need to mock it on me. I hate it. However, I can't seem to hate her more. I love her, and I feel like, I need to show it more for her to believe me."
Nick giggles after hearing her words. "But have you realize too why she is like that?"
"I... I don't know what have I done. I remember, I just... Oh no. I told her that I was only back for work."
