Where does heart belongs

"How to say 'I love you' to your friend, you say?" Taeyeon rephrased what she heard from Yoona.

The doe-eyed girl crossed her two arms and nodded. "Yep."

"Oh, so you admit it?"

"Haha kidding." Yoona immediately uncross her arms, as if she's just joking, indeed. "But serious, how to say it in their language?" But she turned serious right away.

Taeyeon giggles. "Your face tells otherwise. Anyway, kindly have a seat Miss Im."

Yoona excitedly went back to her desk, waiting for Taeyeon to begin. As she sat down, Taeyeon first open the projector that was standby ever since she arrived in the classroom.

"Wait. I thought-"

"First, you must also understand why some people are deaf, Miss Im. We can't proceed to the lesson if you will not have this knowledge why on some instance, sign languages are being made. Do you get my point?" Taeyeon seriously said, as her projector shows a text... 'Understanding Deafness Socially'.

"No way. I only-"

"Yoona. Your mother is deaf, I doubt if you don't know about that."

"Yes I do. But it's not necessary anymore. I under-"

"Nope. You still don't know the nature of being deaf, Miss Im. Some people would say like that. Yes, they can't hear and talk, so they're deaf and mute. Only in that matter, we normal people understands. However, there's more than on that thing. One thing that I am talking about is, just take a look at this video."

Yoona's eyes slightly widened when her mother appeared in a video, where she is talking through her sign languages, and a voice over can be heard. Yoona got goose bumps, coz for the first time, she saw her, moving. Like she's alive. She glanced at Taeyeon, but only to receive a gesture to stare at the video not to her. That made Yoona clenches her fist under the disk. She slowly looked back at the video, couldn't help and grit her teeth at the same time. 

"... reasons of being deaf are mostly they're born... "

The voice is filling up the classroom. 

Yoona can't protest anymore, as she find herself, loosen up. Her fists slowly disappeared as she sighed and let go of her teeth as well. Unconciously, she felt a single tear in the corner of her right eye, surprising her for instance. Yet, she immediately shrug it off and maintain her posture. 

I don't know what am I doing, but... every move of her hand, I cannot longer believe that she's my mother. This is how she actually talks? Just like Seohyun. This just seems so real. As if my mother is really still alive, I can no longer understand the voice that was explaining about this deafness thingy. Damn, why am I this emotional?

Can't take it any longer, Yoona put her head low and muttered, "Please, just stop the video now, Miss Kim."

Taeyeon stopped the video, as what Yoona had requested. 

"Like what I expected. You don't like seeing her, didn't you?"

"It wasn't even my intention to go back. But since they force me, I am here." Yoona truthfully admitted. She slowly looked up, meeting Taeyeon's calm expressions in her face. "You see, I just wanted to live this life without thinking about her."

"I honestly have thought about your reaction. It is because; your mother mentioned to me that... you grow up without her."

"Can we just go back to the lesson? But please don't include her to this. I'm willing to learn the lesson but not with the use of her." Yoona sighed, hoping the older girl would consider her request.

Taeyeon shrugged her shoulders. "Okay. As you wish for." secretly, she was disappointed totally with Yoona's reaction. But that doesn't mean she doesn't want to continue. She a piece of paper in her desk and handed it to Yoona. "Let's have some Logic IQ test first." smiling her, friendly to Yoona.

Yoona chuckles, and got Taeyeon's test paper. "I knew this will happen."

"To start with, you need to learn the sign of 'mom'."

Yoona rolled her eyes. Yet, she just ignores and waited for Taeyeon.

"You place the tip of your thumb of your right 'A' hand on your chin. Then, open your ‘A’ hand into a five hand. You can also try wiggling your hand while signing 'mom'. It's like calling for mom or you are mentioning her. Some also prefers double tapping in your chin." Taeyeon said, acting it at the same time.

Yoona interestingly did as Taeyeon had told her. "So this is mom." double tapping her chin using her thumb while her hand is open.

"And in vice versa, father is the opposite. You place your right thumb on top of your forehead and the hand should be open."

"Ahh, I see. So this is father at the same time." Yoona is obediently learning, much to Taeyeon's relief.

"To do the sign of a boy, grab an imaginary baseball cap in your head." Taeyeon was showing like she's wearing a baseball cap, and holding it. "This sign is also can be mean as 'male' and man. Then respectively for girl, it is made by forming your hand into an "A"-hand and then trace along your jawbone with the tip of your thumb - starting near your ear and moving to near your chin.  If you specifically want to indicate the concept of "girl" as in "a little girl" then you can use a bent hand to show the height of the girl."

"Oh, just like a fist under your chin." Yoona grinned, enjoying so far.

"You can say that." Taeyeon chuckled how Yoona described it. And then, she just resume, doesn't want to waste time. "Another thing, if you wanna sign 'marriage', you can just clasp your two hands together." she did as what she said. "Just think of a married couple, holding hands, that's the sign of marriage."

"Tch,t his is easy."

"Hell no, Miss Im. We are just in the basic yet. Putting this in a sentence is much harder, so don't be too calm yet." Taeyeon warned, sensing Yoona is just following everything she's going to show without any seriousness?

"Okay. I'm on it now." Yoona straightened her seat and shows a big smile, causing for Taeyeon to roll her eyes.

2 hours had passed...

Seohyun bowed in respect and wave her hand to teacher Park, after the 2nd session was done. She got her book the latter gave and walked out the door casually, together with her classmates. As they reach the lounge, they bid farewell through another wave of hand. Yet, Seohyun stayed, as she hasn't seen Yoona. She took a glance at her wrist watch, only to find it 3pm in the afternoon.

'I thought, she texted me the class is one hour only for this time, around?' Seohyun thought, recalling that the doe-eyed actually texted her about it. 'Where is she?'

Looking around the lounge she spotted nothing but only the gallery of photos from Yoona's mom again. Thinking that she must have received any message again, she took her phone out and checked if there's any. However, she frowns to see Yuri's message rather.

from Yul:

I'm not going to visit you anymore.

I'm sorry, Best.

Just go with Yoona on the way home.

I'll be waiting here.

'Yeah, I almost forgot Yuri is going to visit me. Well, she seems to be so busy.' Placing her phone back to her pocket, she embraces her two books again against her chest, while she took her seat in an empty couch. Once again, she looked around, hoping she can now spot Yoona from somewhere. But to no avail, she decided to text her too.

to Alligator Yoona:

Where are you, now?

I'm at the lounge.

After sending her a message, she opened her book and set aside her phone. This way, she'll be accompanied while waiting. A few moments since she started to read, she felt a tap of a hand from behind. Turning her head, she furrows her eyebrows when she didn't expected that it would be the manager of the School, Taeyeon.

"Waiting for your friend?" asked Taeyeon, verbally and in sign language.

'Yes. Where is she?'. Replied Seohyun, blankly.

"You might want to wake her up?"

'Wake her up?' Seohyun made her eyebrows arch once more, upon learning that Yoona is sleeping? 'Where is she sleeping?' added her.

"Come with me." Taeyeon snickered, signing Seohyun to go with her, through her hand.

Getting up from her seat, Seohyun complied, and followed Taeyeon back inside the School building. As they reach the 3rd floor, she guessed Yoona must have fallen asleep inside the classroom? She hopes not. Thinking about it, it made her smile. It made her amuse.

"Here we go." Taeyeon opened a certain room, where Seohyun curiously step into and find the room to be colorful? Just like in kindergarten? She can see letters of alphabets around and so as different kinds of animals over the corner. Some few mini instruments were also place, which made it looks like a musical room for kids? Besides that, a small colorful house was placed just in front of all the instruments. 

Seohyun was confused. 'Where is she?' so she ask Taeyeon.

Taeyeon just smiled and walk passed at the young girl, approaching the house. Taeyeon opened the door, and then turned to Seohyun with a huge smile painted in her face. "After we had our first class earlier, I don't know what happened to her that decorated this empty room and it looks like a kid's room now. She said, this is only to accompany here while waiting for your class to finish."

Yoona is apparently inside the small house, lying in the floor, sleeping with her two legs spread apart. Snores can be heard so loud.

Seohyun was agape, can't comprehend seriously the information Taeyeon had said. 'Chincha? How did she come up with this idea?'

"I don't know."

'Where did she get all of these?'

"Well she ordered." Taeyeon chuckled.

Seohyun's expression, frowned. 'She did?'

"She can... do whatever she wants. So yeah, you shouldn't be surprise about this, Miss Seo."

Seohyun's attention averted to Yoona when she noticed the latter is moving, but not waking up yet. 'How will I wake her up?' asked her to Taeyeon.

"That's why I called your attention. Help me pulled her out this house." 

Seohyun cutely giggle. 'Like we'll pull her through her feet?'

"Haha You got my plan." chuckles Taeyeon. She crouched down and Seohyun did the same. Together, they held Yoona's feet and they pulled her over, softly. 

Yoona who felt like someone is holding her, groaned and slowly opened her eyes. "Ugh, what are you guys... doing to me?"

"Oh, good morning Miss Im." greeted Taeyeon with a bright smile.

Yoona's eyes averted to the girl next to the older. Her grin just automatically appeared as soon as she saw Seohyun, looking at her down. "Hey."

Seohyun squinted her eyes, as she recalled the lip reading class she had. 'Is she saying 'hey' to me?' But instead of replying to her, she simply smiled to her.

"Yah! get up Miss Im." 

"Araso. Araso." Yoona mumbles, getting up from where she is lying. "How did I end up sleeping?" she rubbed her eyes, and a big yawn escape as she took her shoe from the side. 

Taeyeon scoffed. "You answer yourself." she just casually walked away. 

Yoona and Seohyun looked at each other, then to Taeyeon's figure leaving the room. 

"Um, let's get out here." Yoona suggested, as she give Seohyun a way. The latter got her idea, and comply. Yoona just simply followed behind. Yet, still can't remember how did she end up sleeping? Thus, she remembers why she decorated the classroom into a kid's room. A huge bright smile is giving her a good mood, while recalling that boring moment, that turns out to be fun.

After bidding goodbye for the first day of class, Yoona and Seohyun are back in the car, going back to Seoul. But rather than going directly, Yoona is taking a wrong way, which confused the young girl. 

Aren't we going back to Seoul?

As far as I can remember, this isn't the way home, or is it?

"Hmm, it is not the way home, indeed." said Yoona, as she put the car into an automatic drive before getting Seohyun's phone and type her response and give it back to Seohyun right away.

We are going to a cliff I've researched on the net earlier.

I don't know the road too, so I put the car to an automatic drive.

This way, we'll not be lost going there.

Seohyun looked at Yoona for a brief seconds only, before replying to her.

Chincha?

How about Yuri? My best friend is waiting at home.
