Chapter 25

Masks

B.A.P finally finished promoting, which means we were back to practice our own stuff. The company is still trying to find our own color, so wer'e basically trying every possible music genre.

Today is Yongguk's birthday. We are still not talking to each other. I tried to avoid him, and he still didn't try to talk to me, so he just made my job easier.

The boys told us they are celebrating at their dorm and invited us over, and we agreed. This is the first time we are visiting their dorm, so I'm a little excited and nervous.

I got him a new phone case, since his old one was starting to rip. I decorated it with things he like and put a nice ribbon on it at the end, attached to a note wishing him a happy birthday and other things.

I wore a casual floral mini dress and did my hair and make up. At 21:30 we knocked on the boys door. Himchan opened the door wearing a party hat. He greeted us with a large smile. Zelo came and handed us party hats as well. All of the boys were wearing one, and Yongguk had an extremly big and colorful one.

Yongguk smiled when he noticed us and came to give us a hug. I was a little taken aback when he approached me since we weren't really talking lately, but it was just a friendly hug. It felt warm, and he smelled good.

"Happy birthday!" I greeted when we finished hugging.

"Thanks." He gave me his gummy smile, and my heart fluttered.

Both of us stood there in silence, staring awkwardly at each other, until Sumi called him.

"Oppa.." Sumi called as she approached us.

"Hey." Yongguk smiled at her.

"Happy birthday!" She said with a squeaky voice that could easily cause headaches.

"Thank you."

"I got you a really nice present! You got to open her first!" She exclaimed as she clung onto his arm.

"Alright."

At this point I walked away, not wanting to disturb them. I guess they really have something going on between them? He doesn't seem to mind her clinging onto him.. I busied myself with whatever I could, not wanting to see them.

"Stop clinging onto me." Yongguk said dryly and peeled Sumi off of him.

"Why? Are you nervous your little girl will see? Look, she doesn't even care, seeing her walking away without saying anything.."

"This has nothing to do with her, it's just that I'm not intrested in you at all."

"Hyung!" Jongup called and approached them. Yongguk was relieved that Jongup showed up and helped him, even if it was unintentionally.

"What?" Yongguk asked.

"You need to get drunk, it's your birthday." Jongup had an innocent smile on his face, and Yongguk laughed.

"I'm not promising I'll get drunk, but I guess I can drink a little.." Yongguk smiled and followed Jongup to the table with the alcohol, leaving Sumi behind.

While I tried to busy myself I examined their apartment. It had three bedrooms and a large living room. The only fault I could find is that they have only one bathroom, but I guess they can manage since they are guys.. The apartment was relatively tidy considering the fact that it contains six grown males, or maybe it's because they tidied it up for the guests.

We made a toast for Yongguk and I grabbed a can of beer. After that Yongguk opened the presents. When it was my turn he examined it carefully and his big gummy smile appeared on his face. He then changed his old phone case with the one I gave him, and I smiled brightly. I was happy he liked my gift.

As usual, Sumi clung onto him the whole time, but he didn't move her.

After that we played some games. Himchan suggested to play "Truth or Dare", and everyone agreed. We took out an empty bottle of liqueur and settled it in the center of the circle. I sat between Jongup and Zelo, and Yongguk sat opposite me, between Sumi and Himchan.

"First of all, we need to have some rules." Himchan already started acting as the MC. "1. No related stuff. Not questions and not missions. 2. You can only answer 5 'Truth's. After that you have to choose 'Dare'. 3. If you don't answer or if you don't do your mission there is a penalty - Drinking something prepared by the rest of the group. Am I clear?"

"Yes." Everyone answered, and Yongguk started spinning the bottle.

"Truth or dare?" Himchan asked Zelo.

"Dare."

"Impressive." Himchan smiled. "Wrap the person next to you like a koala for the next ten minutes. You can't move from that position and you have to follow the person your'e hugging even if he goes to the bathroom."

"Fine." Zelo smiled, and quickly wrapped his arms around my shoulders and his long legs around my waist. It was surprisingly comfy. "What about spinning the bottle?"

"Hyeri will do it." Himchan answered, and I did like I was told.

"Truth or dare?" Eun Hee asked Daehyun.

"Dare."

"Do a rap about everyone sitting here." She asked, and everyone started laughing since Daehyun's rapping is quite bad. This is going to be entertaining. Daehyun stood up, ready to do his mission, and Zelo got special permission to let me go so he can beatbox. When Daehyun finished, after everyone calmed down from laughing their heart out, he sat down in his place and spinned the bottle. Zelo sat down as well and wrapped himself around me again.

The game went on a couple more rounds until the bottle landed on Sey and Yongguk. By now Zelo has finished his mission, and he was free again.

"Truth or dare?" Sey asked Yongguk.

"Truth."

"Do you like someone in this room romantically?" She asked and I glared at her. What is she doing?

"Yes." Yongguk answered, earning remarks from everyone. Wait, does he mean Sumi? Since she is really stuck next to him in the last few days.. My heart sank thinking about it. I looked over at their dierction. Sumi was smiling brightly, looking at me, and Yongguk stared at me intently, not saying anything. I lowered my gaze to the wooden floor that decorated the living room.

Yongguk spinned the bottle and it landed on Himchan and me and I took a deep breath. I'm a little scared from his questions since he knows too much.

"Truth or dare?" Himchan asked, staring curiously at me.

"Dare." I gathered my courage to say. I don't want him to ask me about Yongguk, so I think it's safer to choose a dare.

"Spin the bottle and do a massage to the person the bottle points at."

I spinned the bottle and it landed on Yongguk. Just great.. Himchan smirked, satisfied. That idiot.. Sumi frowned and I got up slowly and went to sit behind Yongguk. On the way there I glanced at him, but I couldn't read his expression.

"T.. Tell.. Me if it's too strong.. Or too soft.."  I said while putting my hands on his shoulders, stuttering. He tensed a little at first, but he relaxed his body afterwards. I started massaging his shoulders and I hoped my hands won't tremble too much. Yongguk didn't react, so I continued doing what I was doing. After a while I lowered my hands to his back. When I reached there he groaned. I stopped, thinking I did something wrong.

"Continue." He said and I continued, smiling to myself and relieved I didn't mess up.

Meanwhile, the game continued and Jongup asked Yujin to blindly take a piece of clothing from every closet and wear them for the next 15 minutes. She wore them on her actual clothes, and it was quite funny since they were all over-sized on her and they didn't match at all.

Next the bottle landed on Himchan and Sey.

"Truth or dare?" Sey asked.

"Truth."

"Tell us an embarrasing fact about yourself." She stared at him.

"Well, I flirt with a lot of girls but I can't gather the courage to ask the girl I like out on a date, so I hit on other girls around her on purpose to test her reaction." Himchan answered truthfully.

"Intresting.." Sey mumbled.

I came back to my place after massaging Yongguk, and he looked satisfied with my job. A big smile formed on my face.

"Was it good?" Himchan asked Yongguk.

"Excellent. Hyeri is really good at it." Yongguk smiled, and I blushed at his remark.

"Hyeri, do you want a part-time job as our masseur?" Himchan joked.

"You can't afford me." I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Someone became arrogant.." He teased.

"She was always arrogant, can't you tell?" Sumi interrupted our little conversation. Why is she getting involved if it has nothing to do with her?

"Shut up." I glared at her.

"Or what?" She asked. "You can't do anything to me since the higher-ups have already had enough of you. Go ahead, do something.. You'll get kicked out and we will be a four-member girl group. We are better off without you anyway, always causing troubles."

"I rather get kicked out than being like you. Actually, the thing I'm most scared of is becoming like you." I retorted.

"It's cute that you are so innocent. Let's see how long you'll be able to stay like that.." She smirked.

"Longer than you, that's for sure." I answered, and Sumi snorted.

"Over-confidence can bring you down."

"Then you should go down before me.." I smiled.

".." she mumbled.

"Sumi, leave her alone, nobody was talking to you anyway. And stop ruining Yongguk's party, will you?" Sey scolded her. "You are just being rude."

Sumi shrugged, not saying anything.

"I think all of us need a drink." Himchan said and stood up, walking toward the table with the alcohol. Everyone dispersed after him.

"Let's do karaoke!" Daehyun offered.

Somehow everyone agreed to the idea even though they didn't quite like it at first, and we sat around in front of the tv screen in the living room. Youngjae and Daehyun forced Yongguk to sing first because it was his birthday, and afterwards other people started to take their turn as well.

Himchan convinced Sey to do a song with him, and I helped them a little by choosing "Trouble Maker" for them.. If they don't help themselves I can help them a little bit, right? It was funny since they tried not to touch each other too much while dancing and their expressions through the whole song were priceless.

"Girls, why don't you do a song together since you barely practiced lately because of us?" Youngjae offered. We hesitated at first but eventually agreed and we chose "Ice Cream Cake" (Red Velvet).

After a while Sumi sat next to me on the floor, holding two shot glasses with golden liquid in them. I ignored her.

"Hyeri.." She called softly.

"What do you want?" I asked dryly, not wanting to talk to her.

"How about we try to be in a good relationship for our group? We still need to debut together.." She offered, and her suggestion took me by surprise. She doesn't like me, why whould she offer me to be friends all of a sudden? She will be the happiest if I'm not there.

"I know you don't like me and you can't really trust me right now, but let me try? We need to be together for a long time, let's try to make our life easier.. I'm also tired of fighting and arguing." She said when I didn't say anything.

"Fine." I sighed. I don't know what she is planning but she does have a point.. We should be in good relationship with each other.

"Great." She smiled. "Can we celebrate? I brought us shots, let's drink to our reconciliation!"

"Ok." I smiled, and we drank. It tasted a little weird, but I ignored it. It's probably just my imagination..

Author's Note:

I haven't played "Truth or Dare" in ages..

I had fun writing this :)

I already planned the plot for the next chapter, so if I'll manage to write it properly it should be a fun chapter..

I hope the next update will be in the next couple of days, depends on my progress..

Chapter 156: Wow, I was blaming both of them at 1st, as things could’ve been handled so much better on both sides. I loved how Himchan & Sey reasoned with both of them, but Hyeri crossed a line once Yongguk apologized. I didn’t feel she necessarily deserved it, but I knew they both needed it.... sure the way he apologized, did seem like a back handed apology, as her kissing technique could’ve been discussed privately. But Hyeri towards Himchan, she needs to make this better, and of course, he hit below the belt, but she had consistently hit below the belt prior & then to hit him!!! I’m not sure how this is going to turn out, thank you for updating!!

Chapter 156: I still one hundred percent believe that this entire situation is one in which Hyeri is very much at fault. I don’t think Yongguk is in a position where Hyeri requires an apology and I don’t think Hyeri even DESERVES an apology. She completely blew a small and minor incident out of proportion.

I do believe that Himchan went slightly too far with the comment he made however Hyeri shouldn’t have been as horrible to him as she was.

Chapter 155: Welcome back!!!!!!!!!!! I was BEYOND happy to see the update, wow so much happened, where to begin? I see Hyeri & Himchan are still at each other’s throats, I do wish they could get along, and that Hyeri would see the validity in what Himchan said, but no matter what, I think time stopped when Yongguk said Sumi was a better kisser. I felt bad, that super slam, even if honest, that was the time to lie. Especially knowing Hyeri... I was shocked she would kiss him after that was said, and kept thinking why does kissing Yongguk keep coming up, even after he said she wasn’t as good of a kisser. .... sighs, once again, he’s storming out and even with his stupid honestly, I can’t say I blame him. Thank you so much for coming back & for updating,

Chapter 153: Thank you for updating despite your busy schedule. I truly hope that Hyeri is ok! She let a lot of things off her chest the night before, and while I do wish she would've thought of the impact her leaving like that would have, I hope they catch her in time before she does something that would change all of their lives. Regarding the comment I just read, there's a difference between constructive criticism & just plain being rude. While it's true, being factual or doing some research on weightier subjects is a good rule of thumb, most of us are adults that don't use fanfics as our barometer of social issues. Assuming what someone's language is, was completely unnecessary to state. You don't have to read the story, if you're a writer, you should understand what it takes to create, upload & continue a story remembering details from previous chapters...etc. If you're not a writer, perhaps you should put yourself in the author's shoes before you begin.
