Chapter 19

Masks

Days went by with practicing with B.A.P and also with the girls. Me and Yongguk just ignored each other when we crossed paths, just like air.

Today was Jongup's birthday, and we prepared a surprise party for him. All of us gathered in the practice room with food, drinks and gifts, while Zelo was responsible of distracting Jongup.

Me and Sey baked a cake, while the other girls made food and the boys made sure to order pizza as well and to buy drinks and snacks.

We decorated the practice room with balloons and hanged a "Happy birthday!" sign on the wall. We arranged all the gifts on the corner of the room, near the table.

When we finished Zelo texted Himchan that they are on the way back to the comapny. We turned off the light and waited patiently.

After a few minutes the door opened. We counted to three and then Zelo turned the light on and all of us shouted "Happy birthday!".

Jongup was surprised and happy. A big smile formed on his face.

"Happy birthday, kiddo!" Yongguk said smiling and went to hug Jongup. Afterwards everyone did the same.

"Guys, you didn't have to do that.." Jongup said while sitting in the center of the room, eating some chips.

"Of course we should have done it, your'e our Jonguppie!" Himchan said smiling and ruffled Jongup's hair.

"Yah! Why are you eating chips when we have actual food?" I scolded him.

"It's my birthday!" He exclaimed with his mouth full with chips. I eyed him, pretending to be mad, but looking at him, I couldn't really stay mad. He is such a cute kid.

"Noona, we already have a mom in this group.. Don't still Himchan's job, he will be mad." Zelo joked.

"I don't mind having two moms.." Jongup smiled.

"What is this? Do you want to replace me already? I'm the mom of this group, don't let outsiders in!" Himchan exclaimed while putting Jongup's head in a headlock.

"Hyung, I'm sorry.." Jongup tried to release himself.

"Say it louder!" Himchan ordered.

"I'm sorry!" Jongup raised his voice.

"Good boy." Himchan smiled and released Jongup, who pretended to cough loudly. I laughed, seeing how childish they were being.

"Oppa, open your presents!" Yujin said, indicating the pile that was piled up in the corner of the room.

"Yay, presents!" Jongup beamed. He is such a kid, and it's adorable. Without noticing, a big smile formed on my face. How can you not smile around him?

After opening the presents, eating and blowing the candles it started to get a little late, but instead of going home, the boys took out alcohol and Zelo went to the loudspeakers and connected his ipod, blasting music. Our small birthday celebration became a birthday party.

People started dancing and chatting, drinking and laughing. I took a beer bottle from the table and sat near the wall, watching the others enjoying themselves.

"Why are you sitting here all by yourself?" Himchan asked while sitting on the floor in front of me.

"I just felt like it.." I took another sip from my beer.

"Yah, you need to socialize. Don't be a weirdo." He poked my forehead.

"I'm not." I said quietly and hugged my knees to my stomach.

"Idiot." He ruffled my hair, smiling. "Come." He suddenly said and stood up, reaching out his hand.

"Where?" I asked confused.

"Trust me." He smiled, and I took his hand and got up. He led me to the improvised dance floor, and he started dancing to the upbeat song that was playing. I did the same.

It took another two songs for me to start enjoying the party as well. I finished my beer bottle as well, and I was having a good time. Himchan kept dancing with me.

"Oppa.." I said cutely while we danced.

"What?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"Why? Do you want to date me?" He teased.

"As if." I rolled my eyes. "Your'e not my type."

"Then what is your type?" he asked and pulled me closer to him. He stared into my eyes, and I noticed how beautiful they are. In fact, his face is pretty as a whole. He is B.A.P's visual for a reaon.

"Someone that is not as flirty as you." I said and pushed him away playfully.

"Ouch."

"Then do you like someone?" I continued asking, still in the playful atmosphere.

"Curious, are we?" He teased while he turned me around for a spin.

"Oppa.." I whined when he didn't answer.

"I'll tell you if you tell me something in return." Himchan smiled, staring at me.

"What is it?"

"How much do you like him?" My face fell when he mentioned Yongguk.

"I'm not."

"Liar." He poked my forehead again.

"Does it matter?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Just because."

"I think you already know the answer." I said quietly, looking down at the floor.

"Do you want to know yours?" He asked, lifting my chin with his finger so that I'll look at him. I nodded. "There is this girl, but it's complicated."

"Why?"

"I don't think she likes me." He shrugged.

"Then she is an idiot." I smiled, trying to cheer him up.

"Hyung, stop taking noona away! I want to dance with her as well." Jongup's voice was heard. Me and Himchan stopped dancing and turned to him.

"She is all yours, birthday boy." Himchan smiled, and put my hand in Jongup's. I started dancing with him, forgetting everything else.

Yongguk watched the scene in front of him with a soju bottle in his hand. He needed something strong to distract him, and beer didn't do the job.

Hyeri kept dancing with the other guys. It wouldn't bother him that much if she wasn't drinking that much alcohol and if she wasn't getting too close to them, especially to Himchan. He knew Himchan or the boys wouldn't do anything to her, but it still bothered him, and the fact that she drank so much didn't help either. How can a small girl like her drink so much alcohol? His grip on his bottle tightened as he took another sip from it.

After a couple more hours and too much alcohol I was laying on the floor in the practice room.

"Noona, come on, we need to get you back to the dorm, you can't stay sleeping here." Zelo said while nudging my arm lightly.

"I don't want to." I whined.

"Come on, don't be a kid."

"But I am. He doesn't want me because I act like kid, right?" I was still lying on my back.

"Noona." Zelo said softly. He was at a lose, since he didn't know what to do. I closed my eyes, letting myself relax.

Yongguk saw Zelo trying to wake Hyeri up. He didn't know what made him do it, but when he saw Zelo struggling with convincing her he decided to step in.

"You can go, I'll take care of her." Yongguk said and sat next to Hyeri on the floor. Zelo was unsure for a moment, but decided to go and leave Her with Yongguk. He will make sure she is safe at home.

"Be careful, hyung." Zelo said and shot another look at Hyeri before going out of the room.

Yongguk watched Hyeri for a moment. Her eyes was closed and she was laying sprawled all over the place. She looked so cute like that, like a kid. He moved a strand of hair from her face and her smile widened. Without noticing, a smile slowly formed on his face as well.

"Oppa.." She mumbled in her sleep. Does she know he is there?

"What is it?" Yongguk asked.

"Tired." She said and rolled over to her side. Yongguk smiled. Her shirt went up bit, exposing her stomach. He pulled it down, so she won't be cold. He let her rest like that for a while, before waking her up.

"Hyeri.." Yongguk shook her softly.

"What?" She was still sleeping.

"Come on, we need to get you to bed."

"I'm fine here." She turned around to lie on her stomach, her head to the right. Her eyes were still closed.

"Come on, kiddo. You need to wake up early tomorrow."

"I'm not a kid!" She kicked her legs. Definitely a kid.

"Come on.." Yongguk said and lifted her from the floor. He held her in his arms and started to look for her belongings. When he lifted her she opened her eyes and smiled at him.

"I can walk, oppa." Hyeri said sweetly.

"Are you sure?" Yongguk hesitated.

"Yes." She answered. He decided to put her down. Hyeri stumbled, not able to stabilize herself after drinking so much. He grabbed her hand, stopping her from falling down.

"Come here, get on my back." He said and bent down so she can climb over him. It more comfortable that way than carrying her in his arms. She climbed on his back and wrapped her arms around his neck. Her legs were wrapped around his waist. He knew she was thin, but she was lighter than he thought. He could carry her like that all day long.

Yongguk searched for her bag, and when he found it he hanged it aroung his shoulder and walked out of the practice room.

"Oppa.." Hyeri said when they went out of the company building. Her tone of voice told him that she was still drunk. Well, if she was sober she wouldn't let him get near her in the first place.

"What?"

"Why do you hate me?" he could feel her hot breath on the nape of his neck, and it was ticklish.

"I don't hate you."

"Then why don't you like me?" Hyeri asked. Yongguk stayed quiet. What was he supposed to tell her? I like you but I can't date you because someone want to hurt you because of me?

"It's because I'm childish, right? Because you still see me as a kid?" Hyeri continued questining him when he didn't answer.

"It's not that."

"I'm not a kid amynore." She moved her legs, and Yongguk smiled. So cute.

"I know your'e not."

"Then is it because I'm not pretty? Or have a bad body?" She is not going to give up, is she?

"You are pretty." Yongguk answered. "And you have a nice body."

"Then do you like someone else?"

"No."

"Then what is it?" She whined. "Tell me. I promise I'll change."

"Don't change. I like you just the way you are."

He expected to get an answer from her, but he didn't hear anything. He could feel she rested her head on his right shoulder. He heard her even breath and he assumed she fell asleep. Poor thing, she was probably tired and the alcohol didn't help either. At least she can rest now.

Yongguk walked slowly to her dorm, thinking about how ridiculous he must look right now. He always laughed at the guys that were doing this things in the movies, but now he is one of them, and he didn't care. He actually enjoyed it.

When he got to her dorm he knocked on the door, hoping one of the girls will open. After a few moments Yujin opened the door, wearing her pajamas and looking really tired. She looked at him confused.

"Hey.." He said quietly, trying not to wake the other girls up. "Hyeri drank a little too much, so I brought her home." He explained and pointed on his back, to the sleeping Hyeri.

"Come in." Yujin said and opened the door for him. He enterd the living room. "I'll go check that the girls are dressed, so you can come in and put her to bed."

She then disappeared into one of the rooms, leaving him alone in living room. He examined the living room. You could tell girls lived there since it was really organized, unlike their dorm.

"Gukkie, don't leave me.." Hyeri mumbled while holding tighter onto him. She was sleep talking. He smiled to himself.

"I won't, silly girl." He said quietly.

"Liar." she mumbled, and his heart sank. He really can't promise her he will stay, and both of them knew it.

"Come." Yujin reappeared in the living room, signaling Yongguk to follow her to the bedroom. He went after her quietly and she pointed on Hyeri's bed. He laid her there gently and covered her with blanket. She pouted and then turned around, facing the wall.

"Who's missing?" Yongguk asked quietly and pointed on the empty bed underneath Hyeri's bed.

"Sey.. At some point I didn't see her anymore, I don't know where she went too.." Yujin whispered. "Please don't tell anyone, I don't want her to get in trouble."

"Don't worry." He smiled. "If she is still not here in the morning tell me."

"Ok." Yujin smiled, and they went back to the living room in order not to wake the girls up.

"Yujin.." Yongguk said when he was near the door.

"What?"

"I have a favour to ask." He said while staring at the floor, his hands in his pockets.

"What is it?"

"Don't tell Hyeri I brought her here.. She is a little mad at me right now, and she probably wouldn't like the fact that I was the one who brought her home.."

"Sure." Yujin smiled. "Thanks for bringing her over, I was a little worried about her lately.. She looks strong, but she is actually very sensitive."

"No problam." Yongguk smiled. "Please make sure to give her hangover soup in the morning, it looks like she drank a little too much.. And get one yourself if your'e not feeling well.."

"Don't worry, I'm fine. And I'll take good care of her."

"Goodnight." Yongguk smiled.

"Good night, oppa." Yujin smiled as well, and Yongguk left.

"Kim Hyeri, what am I going to do with you?" Yongguk sighed while making his way to his dorm.

His phone beeped, signaling he got a text massage. He opened it:

"Long time no see..

Looks like you got a new girl?

Be careful, she might end up like her."

Yongguk felt his anger building up. He quickly typed an answer - "She is not my girl. Dare to touch her and your'e dead."

"Defensive, are we? Actually, that makes me want to get to know her even more." The reply didn't took long.

"I am not joking."

"Neither am I."

Chapter 156: Wow, I was blaming both of them at 1st, as things could’ve been handled so much better on both sides. I loved how Himchan & Sey reasoned with both of them, but Hyeri crossed a line once Yongguk apologized. I didn’t feel she necessarily deserved it, but I knew they both needed it.... sure the way he apologized, did seem like a back handed apology, as her kissing technique could’ve been discussed privately. But Hyeri towards Himchan, she needs to make this better, and of course, he hit below the belt, but she had consistently hit below the belt prior & then to hit him!!! I’m not sure how this is going to turn out, thank you for updating!!

Chapter 156: I still one hundred percent believe that this entire situation is one in which Hyeri is very much at fault. I don’t think Yongguk is in a position where Hyeri requires an apology and I don’t think Hyeri even DESERVES an apology. She completely blew a small and minor incident out of proportion.

I do believe that Himchan went slightly too far with the comment he made however Hyeri shouldn’t have been as horrible to him as she was.

Chapter 155: Welcome back!!!!!!!!!!! I was BEYOND happy to see the update, wow so much happened, where to begin? I see Hyeri & Himchan are still at each other’s throats, I do wish they could get along, and that Hyeri would see the validity in what Himchan said, but no matter what, I think time stopped when Yongguk said Sumi was a better kisser. I felt bad, that super slam, even if honest, that was the time to lie. Especially knowing Hyeri... I was shocked she would kiss him after that was said, and kept thinking why does kissing Yongguk keep coming up, even after he said she wasn’t as good of a kisser. .... sighs, once again, he’s storming out and even with his stupid honestly, I can’t say I blame him. Thank you so much for coming back & for updating,

Chapter 153: Thank you for updating despite your busy schedule. I truly hope that Hyeri is ok! She let a lot of things off her chest the night before, and while I do wish she would've thought of the impact her leaving like that would have, I hope they catch her in time before she does something that would change all of their lives. Regarding the comment I just read, there's a difference between constructive criticism & just plain being rude. While it's true, being factual or doing some research on weightier subjects is a good rule of thumb, most of us are adults that don't use fanfics as our barometer of social issues. Assuming what someone's language is, was completely unnecessary to state. You don't have to read the story, if you're a writer, you should understand what it takes to create, upload & continue a story remembering details from previous chapters...etc. If you're not a writer, perhaps you should put yourself in the author's shoes before you begin.
