Chapter 1

Masks

"Number 520, please." The tall lady announced.

"It's me!" I said and stood up.

"Come with me." The tall lady said and started walking toward one of the rooms. I followed her quietly. She looked like she is in her twenties, and she was tall, skinny and pretty. She looked like a model.

"Go in." The tall lady said and opened the door.

"Thanks." I thanked her and went in. I looked around the room. It was a practice room, a pretty big one. I saw a computer and a sound system in the right corner of the room, and loudspeakers were scattered all over the room. In the middle of the room was a desk long enough for 7 people. I glanced nervously at the people seated there.

"Your'e number 520?" A chubby man asked, cutting me off from my thoughts.

"Yes."

"Hyeri, right?" He asked after looking at some pages, probably my application form.

"Yes."

"How old are you?"

"22.."

"22." He repeated after me. "You know it's a bit old for this buisness, right?"

"Y..yes." I stuttered a little. "But I'm willing to work hard and I promise it won't be a problem." I tried to convince him.

"We'll see about that." He said dryly. "What did you have for us today?"

"A hip hop dance."

"Let's see it." He said and the music started playing and I started doing my routine.

I dance since I was 5. From ballet to modern, jazz and hip hop, I did everything.

My routine ended with a somersault and I landed perfectly on the ground. Yes, I can do acrobatics as well.

I looked up at the judges, trying to read their minds. The chubby man stayed frozen, but I saw few of the other judges smiling. The rest were writing stuff on the pages in front of them.

"That's good." The chubby man spoke again. Does the other people sitting there don't know how to speak?

"Miss?" The tall lady returned and I looked at her. "You finished this part of the audition. You can wait outside and I'll call you for your next part." She said and pointed at the door.

"Ok, thank you." I bowed to the judges and her and went back to the hall, where a bunch of other boys and girls were waiting for their turn. At least I finished the hardest part..

After an hour long waiting, which is pretty short considering the fact that I waited 5 hours for the first part of my audition, my turn arrived again. This time it was a different room, smaller, and there were only 5 people judging.

"Hyeri?" A female asked, smiling warmly.

"That's me." I smiled. She looked nice, and not intimidating and cold like the other ones I've met so far.

"Are you singing or rapping?"

"Singing."

"Which song?"

"If I were a boy by Beyonce."

"That's a difficult song. Are you sure you can do it?"

"Yes." I tried to sound confident. The truth is I wasn't, but I had to do my best and I needed to impress them.

"Good luck." She smiled again.

"Thank You." I said and the music started.

I was relieved when the song ended, and I didn't make any mistakes, or at least I thought so. I glanced over the lady who talked to me and she was smiling brightly.

"Good job. You can go now, and you'll get your results in a few days."

"Ok. Thank you." I bowed to them again and went out.

When I was out of TS Entertainment building I decided to reward myself with a tasty meal. I went to a nearby restaurant and ordered my favourite dish - spaghetti with meat.

Every day since the audition I checked my mail nervously. I didn't know when I will get an answer, so I kept waiting.

A few days later it finally happened - I got an envelope with TS Entertainment's logo on it. I opened it nrevously and checked it's content:

To - Kim Hyeri

The day of the second audition finally came. I wondered what we were going to do there, since they didn't ask to prepare something like the first audition.

I stood nervously in front of the TS building and took a deep breath. It will be ok, right? It has to be.

The audition started with an interview. I was interviewed by the chubby man, and now I know his name was Jinu. Next to him sat a woman that I didn't see the last time I was here, who was named Clara.

"How are ou, Hyeri?" Clara asked.

"Good, thank you. How are you?"

"excellent." She said and smiled. "Why do you want to be an idol?"

"Because I like to sing and dance and I want it to be my job." I said. And there is another tiny reason - I like B.A.P. But I can't really tell her that if I want to be here.

"So why here?"

"It looks like your'e treating B.A.P well and I want to be succesfull like them. They are a source of inspiration for me."

"How is that?" She questioned.

"They tought me to fight for my dreams and never give up." I said and she looked like she doesn't believe me. . I can't ruin this chance.

"You know you won't be able to meet them a lot since they are busy." She said dryly.

"I know. I do appreciate them, but I'm here for myself and not to see them."

"Do you want to be in a group or a solist?" Jinu asked. It was the first time he talked after he introduced himself, and I was thankful he changed the subject.

"I don't mind, as long I can show my talent and keep improving."

"How are you with team work?" He kept asking.

"Good. I work better alone, but I'm fine with team work as well."

"Ok. I don't think we have any more questions for the time being, you can go out and the next audition will be in half an hour." Clara said dryly. Jinu smiled at me.

"Thank you." I bowed and went out of the room. I Hoped I didn't mess up too much.

Half an hour passed and I was called to one of the practice rooms, different from the one in the first audition.

I looked around. There were 10 more people beside me - six girls and four boys. All of them looked younger than me and I wondered if I'm really the oldest and if it's really too late for me.

"Hello everyone." A manly voice brought me back to reality. He was a tall and muscular. He looked like an athlete. Behind him were 4 more people who held pens and papers. They went to sit in the end of the room.

"I'm Gun, and I'm a choreographer." The athlete looking guy introduced himself. "What we are going to do now is that I'm gonna show you a short choreography I made and you are going to repeat after me, ok?" He asked and everyone nodded. It shouldn't be that hard.

After a set of strechings and warm up Gun started explaining the choreography. It wasn't that difficult and it was fun as well. I completly forgot people was judging us.

We did the routine a few times toghther and then everyone did the routine alone, everyone in his turn. After everyone finished Gun put music on and everyone had to improvise while he and the judges from the back examined us.

I felt like Gun and the other were very intrested in me, but maybe it was just my imagination. After all, everyone here was good, why would they notice me?

After the dance training ended we were given some time to refresh and next was vocal test. The one greeting us was the nice female that talked to me when I sang the last time. Now I know her name is Hyerim and that she is a vocal teacher.

Hyerim gave everyone of us a song to practice and we had one hour to master it. In the first audition I sang a quiet song, so now I got a pop song - Shake It Off by Tylor Swift. They probably wanted to know if I can feet different music generes.

When my turn arrived I took a deep breath and started singing.

I don't know if that's what I was supposed to do, but I decided to dance along the song. It's a pop song, it should be happy, and even if I didn't mean to dance, I'll probably do that anyway while singing it. I was taking a risk, but I didn't care. Besides, If I was going to be in a girl group I would probably need to sing and dance in the same time, so it's better start practicing from now.

I tried not to look at the other people in the room so I won't see their reaction and get affected. When I finished the song I finally looked at them. Oh boy, the look on their faces wasn't good. At all. Hyerim was staring at me quietly. The oter judges didn'y say anything as well for a few seconds.

"Hyeri." One of the other judges finally spoke.

"Yes?" I asked, a little shaking.

"Are you happy with your performance?" He asked dryly.

"Yes." I was beginning to get nervous. I heard myself, and I sang just fine even with the light dancing.

"Why did you dance?"

"Because I felt like it. Standing in place in this kind of song is weird."

"And do you think you sang well?" He continued asking. Why is he interrogating me?

"Yes. I sang properly even with the dance moves."

"Ok, if you think so.. You can go back to your sit." He said and I went back to my place. He is making me feel like I messed up badly.

The audition day finally ended and I had a bad feeling about it. They said the answer will come in a week, so I waited impatiently. I hope I made it.

~

A single letter was waiting in my mailbox that day. I got scared when I saw the familiar logo on the envelope. What if I failed?

I flipped the envelope in my hands a couple of times before deciding to open it. If I didn't make it I will just have to find another way, right? It's not like I can't sing or dance..

I took our the letter:

To - Kim Hyeri

We are happy to announce you that you have been chosen to be one of our trainees.

Here is our trainee contract that explaines everything. Go over it, and if you have any questions we will discuss it when we meet.

We will contact you about the meeting.

We want to emphasize that this doesn't mean you are going to debut. As explained in the contract, the comapny has it's right to kick you off if you break the rules of the contract or if the company thinks your'e not good enough.

Also, The company have every right to decide when and how you are going to debut if your'e going to debut unther TS Entertainment.

We hope to hear from you soon and to work well with you.

I couldn't hide my smile. I finally made it!

I went thorugh the contract and he was really detailed - what to eat and what not to eat, health requierments, discipline, info about tne trainees schedules and evaluations, etc. It gave me a headache going over it all at once, so I decided to take a break and go over it bit by bit.

I'm finally starting my new life. I should have known by then what I'm getting myself into..

Author's Note:

I'm sorry if this chapter is a little boring, but I had to do it like that. The next episodes will be better, and there will be B.A.P as well, since Hyeri succesfully got accepted as a trainee in TS.

All the episodes will be this long, unless I get inspired and make it longer :)

P.S - Are you excited about B.A.P's comeback?

I'm always happy to recieve feedback (of any kind).

Chapter 156: Wow, I was blaming both of them at 1st, as things could’ve been handled so much better on both sides. I loved how Himchan & Sey reasoned with both of them, but Hyeri crossed a line once Yongguk apologized. I didn’t feel she necessarily deserved it, but I knew they both needed it.... sure the way he apologized, did seem like a back handed apology, as her kissing technique could’ve been discussed privately. But Hyeri towards Himchan, she needs to make this better, and of course, he hit below the belt, but she had consistently hit below the belt prior & then to hit him!!! I’m not sure how this is going to turn out, thank you for updating!!

Chapter 156: I still one hundred percent believe that this entire situation is one in which Hyeri is very much at fault. I don’t think Yongguk is in a position where Hyeri requires an apology and I don’t think Hyeri even DESERVES an apology. She completely blew a small and minor incident out of proportion.

I do believe that Himchan went slightly too far with the comment he made however Hyeri shouldn’t have been as horrible to him as she was.

Chapter 155: Welcome back!!!!!!!!!!! I was BEYOND happy to see the update, wow so much happened, where to begin? I see Hyeri & Himchan are still at each other’s throats, I do wish they could get along, and that Hyeri would see the validity in what Himchan said, but no matter what, I think time stopped when Yongguk said Sumi was a better kisser. I felt bad, that super slam, even if honest, that was the time to lie. Especially knowing Hyeri... I was shocked she would kiss him after that was said, and kept thinking why does kissing Yongguk keep coming up, even after he said she wasn’t as good of a kisser. .... sighs, once again, he’s storming out and even with his stupid honestly, I can’t say I blame him. Thank you so much for coming back & for updating,

Chapter 155: WOOP WOOP!! MY FAVE FANFIC IS BACK!!! And OMG this is spicy as hell. I just wish Hyeri would stop being a drama queen and finally realise that she needs to get some help and that Yongguk loves her.

Chapter 153: Thank you for updating despite your busy schedule. I truly hope that Hyeri is ok! She let a lot of things off her chest the night before, and while I do wish she would've thought of the impact her leaving like that would have, I hope they catch her in time before she does something that would change all of their lives. Regarding the comment I just read, there's a difference between constructive criticism & just plain being rude. While it's true, being factual or doing some research on weightier subjects is a good rule of thumb, most of us are adults that don't use fanfics as our barometer of social issues. Assuming what someone's language is, was completely unnecessary to state. You don't have to read the story, if you're a writer, you should understand what it takes to create, upload & continue a story remembering details from previous chapters...etc. If you're not a writer, perhaps you should put yourself in the author's shoes before you begin.
