After that day, Jongin and Kris got along just fine. Kris would tease the kid sometimes but that's about it. He accepted Jongin as Daran's boyfriend and glad for his friend's happiness.

Jongin took Daran to dates every weekend with the kingkas spying them.

It was lunch break when Daran was called in the dean's office. Jongin, worried, offered to go with her but Daran told him to wait for her at the canteen.

She reached the office and knocked several times before coming in. To her surprise, the dean wasn't present, instead there sat Mrs. Kim with an expression of a judge.

"Come in young lad." she said and the girl obliged.

"I called you today to talk about my son." she started as Daran listened nervously.

"I don't like you for my son." she snapped that made Daran's heart sink.

"As you know Jongin deserves a better woman. One with our kind." she said offending the girl to her heart's content.

"You get my point right? The dean told me you're smart so I guess you got my message. Knowing my hard headed son, he won't break up with you without a fight so I want you to do the favor." she continued as Daran's eyes were fixed on the floor, open wide in shock.

"I don't want to brag, but us Kim's donated a lot of this school's fund. And that includes your scholarship." she smirked as Daran swiftly looked at Mrs. Kim in disbelief.

*No. Not my scholarship. I need to graduate. But what about Jongin?* she panicked.

"I know for poor people like you, education is important. So I want to make a deal with you, I will support your school fees in exchange of breaking up with Jongin." she bargained.

*How could she do this?* Daran said in her mind and stood up.

"I'm so sorry Mrs. Kim, but I can't do what you want. I love Jongin and he's with me. He's happy with me. And as for my studies, I will work hard for my own fees and do my best to get an education that will suit a woman that Jongin deserves." Daran said with her shaking voice that made Mrs. Kim scoff.

*Stupid stubborn gold digger.* she cursed in her head.

"In love? Happy?" she laughed sarcastically. "Don't kid with me. Tell me, how much do you need to get away from him?" Mrs. Kim asked frankly with an annoyed tone.

"I'm sorry but the one I love is Jongin, not his money." Daran bowed again.

*I already have money, I don't need them.* She added mentally.

"So, you're saying you won't breakup with my Jongin and let go of your scholarship?" Jongin's mother asked losing her patience.

Daran nodded and said "I'm sorry." to the mother of the man she loves.

Mrs. Kim stood up that made the girl startled. "You can handle the hardships but will my Jongin can?" the woman said almost shouting.

"Do you not understand? You're a threat to his future! You could take him down with you! Love?! Can it provide you food, warm home, education? Tell me lad." she added making the girl tongue tied.

"Look, if you really love my son, you'll let him have a better future. He'll be hurt but he can move on." the woman added. "Are you still planning on standing with your love belief when Jongin's future is at stake?" she asked not gaining an answer to the thinking Daran.

"And I've decided, it’ll be hard, but I won't own a son that will bring disgrace to our family." Mrs. Kim sighed taking back her calm while Daran has her eyes wide open at the woman.

*What does she mean?*

The woman looked straight into the girl's eyes and said "I'll disown Jongin if you stay with him." she threatened as Daran felt her internal organs dropped.

"Jongin won't last without us. If he gets disowned, he won't be able to pay his tuition fees, kicked out of the mansion with nothing. Yes. You can let him stay with your box, but what about his future?" Mrs. Kim said.

"W-Why are you doing this? He's your son." Daran asked as she fell to her knees tears flowing from her eyes.

She couldn't take it any longer and the thought of Jongin having no future struck her.

"He is. But I prefer to have none than have a pathetic one." the woman took her purse and walked towards the door contented with her work.

She stopped and said "I'll give you a week to think it out, I hope you choose the right decision." back facing Daran and walked out leaving the broken girl alone sobbing.
