Chapter 13- 여행 A Short Journey (Part 2)
Mokpo(Donghae) or Seoul(Kyuhyun)?Flashback
It was around 3 in the afternoon when me, my mom and Taeyeon unnie were walking down the streets to get some ice cream. Taeyeon unnie was the best sister I’ve ever known. That moment we were walking, laughing, and just hanging out while my mom was holding my hands and my Unnie was in the other side of my mom and also holding her hand. “So do you want strawberry? Or chocolate?” My mom told me and my unnie as she smiles at us. “Chocolate!” me and my sister said in unison smiling and really excited because of the ice cream we’re buying. Suudenly, we heard a police car ‘wee-woo-wee-woo’ the sound of a police car while it was chasing a robber in a car. The police fired as the robber also fired, instead of aiming at the police. The robber aimed at us, to my mom, right exactly at her chest. My mom laid down spilling blood all over the place, not just in her chest where the blood was spilling out but also in . People started to circle us. The police stopped the car and went to my mom immediately. The last words I heard my mom said was “Taeyeon…take care of your sister and your dad.. Eun-Eunye…please be good, both of you be good in everything” then the police started to carry my mom to the hospital as me and my sister cried and cried. Then my mom was ‘died on arrival’ I was hopeless especially my sister and my dad.

The police never catched the suspects who killed my mom. And until now, were still finding justice for my mom. And until now, I still remembered what my mom told us. I worked hard for my studies, and that’s where I started to study in Kyunghee University, getting 98% in my exam, as the highest top notcher in the whole examinees. I’m sure mom is so proud of me. But even if I am studying in one of the most prestigious school in Korea, I was still incomplete, because of my mom. Then, I met Kyuhyun. He turned my world upside down. Making me smile again. And making me have fun again. “Hey dad…” I said to my dad Shindong with a little smile on my face. But he just looked at me and got back to what he was doing. “What you did last night was wrong…and you---“ “Dad I know…I’m sorry..” I said to my dad as he continued to prepare food. “You should not say sorry to me…you should say sorry to someone else.” My dad said to me calmly. Then, unnie came downstairs. “Hi dad!” unnie said like nothing happened last night. But she’s still not talking to me. Well.. I don’t blame her. I just ate and ate so it would look that I’m busy, but I can’t help it when my dad is looking at me signaling that I should talk to my sister and say sorry already. But, I can’t do it! I don’t have the courage to do that! EUNYE AH! BABO! AISHHH! We went to our school still not talking to each other. We went to our separated class and entered the room silently. As I enter the room I saw Kyuhyun talking to Sungmin. But Kyuhyun was facing the different way from me, but Sungmin isn’t. He saw me and Kyuhyun saw the direction where Sungmin looked. And finally he saw me. “I’ll talk to you later…” I heard Kyuhyun say to Sungmin even from a little far away. As I put my bag on my chair there was Kyuhyun hugging me from the back. “Yahhh…Kyuhyun-ah…” I said to him while smiling pretending that I don’t the hug his giving me. But to be honest, didn’t care who would see us…I didn’t want it to stop. Then he finally let go and the bell rang. Mr. Park entered the room starting with “Good day class! I hope you had a wonderful time yesterday!” he said with a smile on his face. I was thinking the whole time… ‘yeah right’ try looking at my most worse night list and see which was on the top. As Mr. Park was discussing I kept looking at Kyu from behind I will see him listening and writing at the same time to Mr. Park but I guess he was sensing that I was looking at him that why he looked back at me, and just smiled. I smiled back but when I faced the board again. My smile disappeared, not because Mr. Park was the first person I saw. But because I knew that those were one of the last smile before Kyuhyun and I will separate in just about a few hours now. Bell rang. Recess came. I went with Kyu, Sooyoung, and Sungmin at the lunch table, just talking and laughing and not talking about the Mokpo part. As we started talking and talking, RinA, the girl who is in love with Ryeowook appeared and seated beside me with her tray.

And everyone stopped at talking and just stared at her. “Umm..can I help you?” Eunye said as she stares at RinA. “So…I heard you were leaving? Is that true? What time?” she said smiling and being excited because Eunye was now going away. “Okay, I think you need to leave” Sooyoung said irritated. “No…ummm..yeah, I’m leaving this afternoon.” She said calmly. “Oh cool…that’s great!” she said trying not to show much that she is really happy. “EUNYE-AHHHHHH!” someone shouted and everyone looked at who’s responsible for that shouting. But when he shouted it really sounds like an aegyo. “Is it true your leaving?!” everyone in the table got shocked because Ryeowook just popped beside Eunye out of nowhere. “Ummm…” “No!No!No! That’s not true!You’re not leaving! How can you say that!” Ryeowook said as he started to panic. “Ryeowook..ryeowook..” Eunye said as she started to call Ryeowook’s attention. “How can you say you’re leaving!? I told you, you will be a good subject to my paper, then you’re leaving?!” he continued still panicking while RinA started to be jealous. “Ryeowook..wookie..” she sais as she wants Wookie’s attention. “If you don’t want to be my subject at all you can just say it! But you don’t have to leav—“ “RYEOWOOK!” everyone in the table said in unison which is loud enough to steal the attention of every people in the cafeteria. Even the people from the second floor looked at what’s happening from the first floor where the table of Eunye was. As the whole cafeteria was in silence. Ryeowook who was really loud back then, became silent and blank who was just staring at Eunye and everyone. “Yes Ryeowo—Wookie. I’m leaving but don’t worry, it’s not about you..” Eunye said calmly. “Oh! Great…well..what is it then?” he said having a dried laugh. “It’s because of my dad’s business…I’m leaving this afternoon” she said calmly laughing a bit. “What?” he said calmly not the hyper one that he is been a while ago. “Well…all of us are going to say goodbye to Eunye…you could come…” Sungmin said as he smiles cutely even if he’s not trying to do an aegyo. “Oh..well then..okay..i’ll be there…” Wookie said smiling but still sad because Eunye was leaving. Then, the library head called Ryeowook and there he goes running like a cute white bunny that everyone will adore, especially RinA. “You know….you two look cool together…” Eunye said to RinA. “Really?” she said as she smiles to Eunye. “Yeah..I mean, you two are smart,cute, and both of you are members of our theather and our library thingy.” She said to RinA smiling. “Wow..you really think so?” she said as she was still smiling imagining Ryeowook. “Yeah…an you know what….” “What?” asked RinA. “Did you know that he liked me because when I was just a new student here in Kyunghee…I gave him a cute rabbit, with his name on it.” She said to RinA still imagining how she gave it to Wookie. “Wahhhh~jjinja?” RinA said. “Yeah..and I think just give him better than that…and a couple of aegyo, after that, he’s all yours…” she said to RinA with a smile. “You should go and get him right now~” Eunye said to RinA. Then RinA stood up and ran towards the direction Ryeowook just ran in, but before she was completely gone… she stopped and turned around to look at Eunye once again. “Thanks…and you know what..you two look cute together~ hope you’re still a couple till the end of time.” RinA said to Kyuhyun and Eunye then she ran again and left. After school, Eunye and the rest of the people she talked with a while ago went to the front house of Eunye to say goodbye for the last time. She first went to Ryeowook who’s with RinA, “Thanks for the help…” RinA said as she smiles to Eunye. “At least now, even if you’re gone, I found a new subject for my school news paper.” Ryeowook said as he looked at RinA. As Eunye smiles because of what happened, she then walked to Sungmin. “We would just like to give you this.” Sungmin said as a girl she’s with gave it to Eunye. “A pink rabbit? Thanks!” As Eunye smiles she asked Sungmin. “Who’s she, she’s really pretty and cute like you!” “Don’t you know? She’s my girlfriend” Sungmin answered as he rest his arms on her shoulder . “Annyeong~ My name is Haneul, Lee Haneul. I heard you were going away, so I decided to come to say goodbye, I heard that you are one of Sungmin’s friend…so, I just like to say goodbye, and thanks for being a good friend to Sungmin.” Haneul said as she rest her head at Sungmin’s shoulders. Eunye bowed her head and went to the crying Sooyoung.
Eunye’s POV
I went to my best friend Sooyoung who was crying really loud “Yah~! Chingu! Stop crying already! You’re making it sound like there’s a funeral to the neighbors!” I said jokingly as I hugged her so tight. “Yah! Chingu~ When you get there, even if you find someone else to be friends with, don’t forget that I am your bestest friend okay?! They can be your friend but not your best friend ok?! Only me!” Sooyoung said while crying so badly. “Yahhhhh…chingu~ you’re making me cry..” I started crying because she cries so loud and emotional. “Just promise me!” she said. “Yes! I promise! Even if you don’t say it, I will always remember that you where my bestest friend..okay?” I said as I hugged her. Then, the time came when it’s my turn to face Kyu. “Yah~ My Maknae on top,evil kyu, dancing kyu, drama kyu, Lord Kyu ,Sulky Kyu, Excellent Plastic Surgery Result Kyu, Kyu, Fit-In Kyu, Chic Kyu, Alien, Jesus Kyu, Dorm Kyu, y Kyu, Baby Kyu, Shy Kyu, ELF Kyu, Green Kyu, Terror Kyu, Rotten Smile Kyu, Guinness Kyu, Voice Kyu, Dark Kyu, Model Kyu, Miracle Kyu, Doll Kyu, S Line Kyu, Basic Instinct Kyu, and especially my Game Kyu, Saranghae…” I said to him while tears went down to my cheeks. As soon as he heard that he hugged me, while hugging me, he said this words to my ear. “Even if we’re far away from each other. I will remember you always, I will never let our love go, you are my everything. Saranghae” As I heard those words, makes me cry more. Suddenly “Come now, it’s a long drive to our new home.” My dad said as he touched me a took me to the car. Ryeowook,RinA,Haneul,Sungmin,Sooyoung and Kyuhyun were just standing on the side walks can’t really explain what to do. As I cried and cried inside the car I heard a voice say. “Can miles truly separate you from friends and your love ones... If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?” A voice said. When I turned my head from the left I saw my smiling Taeyeon unnie looking at me, I smiled back at her and said “Kamsamnida~” after that…I felt better a little but I still can’t erase the fact that me and Kyuhyun and my friends won’t be together anymore, but my sister was right, at least they are always till in my heart.
