The Housewarming Party I
Downing Today, Drowning Tomorrowthemedicalscholar: Hey guys it's me. Well I am here in a cyber cafe at 2am to post this chapter because my laptop is dead. Like seriously, dead. I thought I could fix it myself but unfortunately, it did not work so this is to almost a month of absence. I hope you guys forgive me for this. So this is the awaited housewarming, I hope you guys enjoy it. As always, don't forget to subscribe, upvote to those who hasn't and most of all, please comment! I would love to hear what you guys have to say.
The bulgogi party has started. Many of those Song Ji Hyo loves crowd her living room. The lighting was dim and they were drinking; talking to each other. Some playing with their phones, some playing with the children; it was all fun being around an atmosphere that is calm. Song Ji Hyo wore simply an ivory-coloured blouse with jeans, and Lee Kwang Soo looked dapper in his cosy sweater and straight cut jeans. It was the first time they looked like a couple. In the beginning, they looked like co-workers, then friends, then the obvious noona-dongsaeng relationship for years; and finally they were each others. Their arms were sometimes linked, sometimes she would rest her head softly on his shoulders, sometimes he would whisper in her ear about anything that he was thinking about.
People could not agree more, they were a solid fit.
'What happened, between you and Lee Dong Wook-ssi?' Gary asked, while she was in the kitchen, preparing the meat. She looks at him, somehow caught off guard by his question. It was not a question that people would bring up so casually.
'We're friends.' She said simply. 'We were better off friends than partners, that's all.' She adds.
'You figured that out when? When you had feelings for Kwang Soo?' He asked her.
She could sense the tension in his voice. He was not pleased. Probably he was caught off guard by the status quo. They were friends, of course he shouldn't just merely condone her actions. But he was willing to hear her out. 'Yeah. I'd admit it, since it's you anyways. I was not supposed to be with Dong Wook. I thought that being with him would change my mind, but it did not. I can't blame myself more than this.' She says, leaning on the counter.
'So what if you change your mind now, then? You'll ditch Kwang Soo easily too?'
It came as a shock, listening to the words coming out of Gary's mouth. He was not the type to use harsh words, but it seems like things are changing. 'If you could not make your mind then, how could you make up your mind now, Song Ji Hyo?'
She could anticipate this from anyone, but she never thought this would be coming from Gary.
'I don't know!' She says, she almost yelled. But she controlled herself so it would not bother the other guests. 'I don't know, oppa. I don't know. I know nothing. But being with Kwang Soo, makes me feel different. Makes me feel like I want to settle down. Makes me feel like I want to give up anything just to be with him. I made my bed, and you can give me for that; because what I did was wrong. I can't justify what I've done to Dong Wook. I don't want to change anything. I know I can't change your mind, oppa, I know. But I want to try to explain to you.' She says.
But then Lee Kwang Soo came into the kitchen. 'Hey guys, what're you guys doing?' He asked. Gary simply said nothing. Song Ji Hyo smiles.
'We're just talking. Can you get that for me?' She says, pointing to the cold plate of meat.
It's going to be a long night, for the both of them.
