Waving & Pointing the Chicken

Downing Today, Drowning Tomorrow

There was a slight hesitation in Lee Kwang Soo's mind, somehow there was one thing and then the other. The first thing would be thinking that his noona is drunk, but later the possibility is crossed out - she had only a shot of soju to drink. Maybe she was already drunk before, and that too, is impossible since her breath does not smell like alcohol. The other thing would be that her noona feels the way he does. Lee Kwang Soo could feel the tightness of his stomach, and he somehow feels like throwing up.

Alright, let's see. What should I do now?

Song Ji Hyo merely sat after her lips parted away from him. He doesn't know how much she has always wanted to do that, and how much guts it took for her to do it in public. She felt like she wanted to sink into the ground, but at the same time, she didn't. She thanked the lord that it was too late for people to be around, only an ahjussi passed out on the table and the store owner is out back, probably frying up more chicken or something.

'Noona.' Lee Kwang Soo finally talks, breaking the thin ice between them.

'Don't talk, noona's thinking.' She poured herself another shot, downed it down in a strong gulp as if alcohol is going to fix anything. She pushes the glass away from her, she's not going to drink anymore. She has a cover shoot in the morning.

Lee Kwang Soo obliged and after a strong silence between them, and after his noona has done 'thinking', she raised her head. 'Lee Kwang Soo, you really don't know how much I like you, don't you?' She asked. She ate a piece of chicken while she talked, Lee Kwang Soo merely smiled at the scene. 'You really are clueless sometimes.' She says.

'What am I missing, noona?' He talked.

'Do you actually think you're the only one in pain?' She asked, waving the chicken and pointing it to him. She aims the chicken to her heart instead, 'My heart feels a little bit fuller every time I think about you, sometimes it gets too full that I can't even breathe. But I can't do anything about it.' She says.

Looking at the clueless Kwang Soo, she chuckles. 'So let me ask you something, something I have wanted to ask you since the beginning, what do you want from me, Lee Kwang Soo-ssi? In the most frank sense that you can.' She says, finally biting down the chicken, leaving full so she could hear him talk without cutting his speech. 'Give your answer in three seconds. 1...2..'

'I want to date you, noona.' He finally says it. She placed her head on the table.

'What if us dating doesn't work? Tell me, what are you going to do by then?' She asked.

'Then noona, I'll put it in your hands.' He sighs. 'If you don't trust me enough, that I'm going to see this through the end, then, I'll let you play god. You'll tell me when it's over if you want it to be over, if your feelings have changed, if you don't see the need for me to be here anymore - I'll give you that assurance. When it's time for me to go, just tell me, and I'll let you go.' He explains. 'It has been hell, noona, thinking that you don't feel the same way as I do. I thought I could live with it, but right now, I still couldn't. I don't even think I'm in one piece anymore.'

She bangs her head on her hand. 'This is awfully difficult, don't you think?'

'I know it is.' He says. 'I know best of how it is.'

'You're not going to regret it?' She asked.

'If I do, there's nothing I can do about it. Since the burden of starting and ending this is in your hands now.' He utters, the wind is horribly cold that day, but they were used to it. He pushes her hair back behind her ear.

'Why can't it be anybody else, Lee Kwang Soo? And we can just forget it. I'm giving you a choice for you to run away, please take it. I can keep it in, I promise, just - can you please just, go away?' Song Ji Hyo says, but he knows she doesn't mean it.

'How can I pick anybody else, when I see you every day? When everywhere I look, I keep searching for you in the mix?' He asked.

She sighs. 'I have some awful to do next, Kwang Soo, let's go home.' She says.

'Then I'll be here for you, so it wouldn't be so awful to deal later.'

She looks at him, for some reason she was no longer scared. He held her hand while they paid, and when they got to his car, he opened the door for her. Before she enters, she leans and pulls him close. She touches his cheeks, it was cold from the wind and so was her finger tips. 'How did it end up like this, Kwang Soo-ya?' She says, she places her head on his chest. 'How did I end up feeling like I'll give up everything for you?'

Chapter 111: I just finished reading this, but I can’t really decide if I liked it or not. I guess the events leading to the ending (after Chapter 95) was/is not my cup of tea, it kind of made me upset in a way since I love KwangMong, that’s why. But other than that, I loved your writing. KwangMong has been my ship, so thank you for this story :)

Chapter 5: Another great chapter.

I like how Kwang Soo is very caring towards Ji Hyo.
I also liked the way he stumbled when Ji Hyo asked the innocent question, "Did you sleep okay?" It was kinda endearing.

Although at the end of the chapter, I ended up feeling a little sorry for Ji Hyo. Yes, she was partly to blame for encouraging Kwang Soo to drink, but she had to be the one comforting him.

I kinda felt both characters cared deeply about the other. With Ji Hyo fixing him breakfast and then comforting him and with Kwang Soo apologising even though it was not entirely his fault for what happened the night before. And I like that you had him behave timidly. It feels like you are setting us up that he cares very deeply for her. If not he wouldn't be so afraid of shaking the status quo.

I'm so looking forward to find out what happens to them! I've upvoted and subscribed. You have yourself a fan!

Chapter 4: I can't believe I never read this story before. I chanced upon your story while browsing the kwangmong tag and I'm sure glad I did. I think your your style of writing is very unique and I'm really kinda enjoying the short chapters.

Although I'm only four chapters in, I'm hooked and I can't wait to find out what happens next! Now off I go to read the rest of the story!

Hey, I have to admit I was a silent reader to this and was pleasantly surprised when you updated and completed it! I just love your style of writing, it really captured my attention to the point where I binge read the first 50 chapters then realised that it was unhealthy hahaha.
It was such a roller coaster for both Ji Hyo and Kwang Soo, I had always thought that their relationship was moving so fast that it would hurtle of the tracks. It was such a bitter sweet open ending which leaves me hoping for something more. Overall the whole story was so realistic which I found captivating, it showed not only highs of a relationship but also the lows.
So thanks for sharing this. I can't wait for you next idea. I look forward to reading it.
