Mind Made Up
Downing Today, Drowning Tomorrowthemedicalscholar: Hey guys, this is your author. Since I haven't talked to you guys in a while, I should. So, here I go. To @Tirison, I am glad that you found my story. I don't get much readers, so every reader is precious to me - so thank you, thank you for enjoying this measly creation of mine. To @Feathertail1203, I missed you guys too. Got too much stuff to handle, kind of delayed writing for awhile, so I apologize for the wait. @Riasugesti, I kind of feel like that too, sometimes, if I was a reader myself. She keeps going around and around, doesn't she? But she sometimes get too impatient too, so she's slowing down a bit. And @spartace_suki, as usual, your input is delightful. I thought of that too, and she's going to take a leap of faith soon so you better keep reading! And @vanflamighty, I was bombarded by your comments and I was loving it! Were you really crying? If you did, then you seriously made my day. Got to be honest with you, it broke my heart too when I wrote it, but truly, I think it kind of spiced the story up. I think I would have liked it too, if they really did date in real life and I would be like, HAH, I SAW THIS COMING. I think I would be the first one to say that.
Anyways, I hope you vote, subscribe and most of all, comment! If I delay my writing, that means it was really urgent and I can't be online so I apologize so much for those who are waiting (if there is anyone tho, lol). So please, comment, so it can make my day and make me feel buttery inside. Much love xox
She gave some pocket money for her parents and went shopping with her sisters at night. She had a good time actually, and she was glad she came back home. They had a feast last night, that her mother insisted in her doing. They were drinking, talking, and most of it, her mother spent some quality time with her too. She scheduled the flight for tonight, and she thought about what to do.
'Seong Hee.' She calls her brother who was just laying around outside.
'What do you need, noona?' He merely says, without even looking at her.
'Why won't you stay with me in Seoul? Continue your studies there, maybe even doing things you want to do. For the time being, you can just live under me.' She suggests, sitting next to him which was just looking at the stars. It was night time, too late for someone to stay awake.
'In Seoul?' He rose from lying, looking at her. 'Me, in Seoul?'
'Yeah, you, me. It used to only be the two of us, remember?' She says.
'Mom would kill me.'
'I'll talk to her.'
He shrugs. 'But this is my town. I don't belong in that city, the metropolitan - large, busy and it's always noisy I don't know why. Even when it's late at night. It's tempting, of course, living off my sister's money.'
'You are still living off your sister's money. Who do you think paid for your school tuition?'
'I know, stop reminding me already. You know what I mean, noona, this is my town. Lived here longer than you did, you left so early for Seoul. And mom is here, dad is here, and your sister, she's here too. This is home to me. But I'll think about it. We all have had dreams, even you know, one of my friends, that was the only thing he talks about. Seoul - living in the big City, dating a Seoulite, and earning for himself, and nobody else.'
'I know this story. But he never leaves.'
Seong Hee smiles at her. 'Exactly, he never left. Still working on his dad's fishing boat, and he told me that he's marrying his ex, next month.'
'Really?'
He nods. 'You know what's funny, I asked him, when is he living for Seoul? You know what he answered?'
'What did he answer?'
'You can dream big, you can tell people things, but sometimes you just stay the same. But it doesn't mean that you're happy, it means that God has a simpler, better alternate for you.'
'You're not the kind to think about God, Seong Hee-ya.' Ji Hyo smiles.
'It's not me, it's him.'
Somehow there was a comfortable silence in between them, and Seong Hee broke it.
'Noona.'
'Hm?'
'You're thinking a lot these days, somehow it's a bit funny.'
'What do you mean it's funny?'
'Instead of a blank look on your face, it feels like you're actually thinking something. Your forehead's wrinkled, and you're asking questions, sometimes you actually pay attention.'
'Yah, Seong Hee, do you think I'm stupid or something?'
'Why would I say that? I mean, it's good. Whoever you're thinking off and about, you must really love him a lot.'
'Do I?'
Seong Hee taps her sister's shoulder, and excused himself. It's getting later and later, he must be tired. But she stayed, and laid down on where her mother liked to make kimchi. She thought, somehow laughed at herself. How could my own brother become smarter than me? She thought. She thought it was odd, since it used to be her job, listening to her brother and sister complain. Listening to her mother complain about her dad, who sometimes ignores her whenever she comes back home. But she felt relieved, that someone, someone who loves her, was listening to her.
But she was reminded of something. She was reminded of Kwang Soo, who would relentlessly listen to her stories no matter what is it about. It does not matter if it's the past, the present, maybe even her aspirations. She turned to her phone, and opened up her messages that she has ignored for a long time. And there was Dong Wook, asking her where she was. The only thing she messaged him was:-
Made up my mind. Meet me tomorrow, at night. I'll give you my answer.
It would be wasting time, if she kept delaying her decision - she has made up her mind.
