They finished eating and Kwang Soo waited for her to do the dishes on the island. 'Can I help you with those, noona?' He offered. She looks at him, and shakes her head. 'It's okay, I can handle it. But if you insist on helping, you can wipe the plates clean so I can keep it in the cupboard.' She says, and he follows. He takes the rag from the dishwashing rack, and started to wipe the water off. After a few minutes, the chores were all done.
'Coffee, tea or juice?'' Song Ji Hyo asks like a stewardess on an airplane, taking two mugs from the cupboard.
'Juice please, noona.' He says.
Song Ji Hyo asked him to sit on the sofa upfront, and poured two glasses of apple juice for the both of them. She handed it to him, and sat a few inchest away from him, trying to give him some distance. She was not uncomfortable, but she did not want to tick Kwang Soo off. God knows what she'll do if he got angry.
'Kwang Soo-ya..' She says to him who was fixated on her view. It was a pretty view, of course, she paid a lot of money for it. She called his name again, thinking that he was spacing out, but he was not.
'You know, noona, I always have thought you were something else.' Without notice, he started talking without even fixing his gaze at her. His eyes were fixated on the paneless windows, Song Ji Hyo did not comment on it, she just listened. 'I thought you were funny, active, and even brilliant. You shone brightly than anybody I have ever met.; He had a soft smile on his face, thinking of her without even averting his eyes.
'Everybody knew you weren't like any girl. The first time you swore, it was really funny because it did not feel like it was staged at all, I didn't even know we can swear on the show. We couldn't, but you didn't care, did you?' There was a slight pause. 'But that night, made me think of a lot of things. It made me think of you.' Finally, he looked at her.
'I think from day one, I have always liked you.'
His last statement made her heart feel heavier, it felt like it was going to drop into her stomach.
'Kwang Soo-ya..' She tries to speak, but her voice broke in the middle. She cleared .
'Noona!' He says. 'Don't give me such a stern look, it's really going to bother me if you do.' He laughs as he said it. 'I'm not asking you to love me back, noona, because I know how you see me. You don't see me more than just a dongsaeng, and I respect you a lot. I don't want you to feel burdened about it. I'm an adult already, probably you still see me as a kid, since I was only in my 20s when we first met.' He says, chuckling.
'I came here, without even thinking. And I'm sorry to have bothered you, I know it's not really respectful of me as a dongsaeng to show up at your home, without invitation.' He finished the juice from the glass. 'I'm sorry, noona.' The lanky 'giraffe' stood, and gave a bow to his noona, without even giving her a chance to speak. 'I'll see myself off.' He says. The next thing Ji Hyo knows, he was out the door.
What the hell, just happened.
Ji Hyo went to bed, tossing and turning thinking about it.
Kwang Soo, why don't you ever give me a chance to speak?
