Leave Her Alone

Downing Today, Drowning Tomorrow

themedicalscholar: I changed Song Ji Hyo's brother's name to Sung Moon since that is actually his real name, (he came into that episode in Running Man) from Seong-hee. It was almost close though haha, but I don't think I'd have the preseverence to edit the chapters fr0m before. Enjoy! :-)

0After collapsing and losing her baby, Song Ji Hyo went to live with her brother. Sung Moon has been doing well in Seoul, living in her older sister's apartment. She bought the apartment, of course, and Sung Moon's starting his career as an actor like his noona. Song Ji Hyo wanted to show her support for her brother in the new city, she thought she'd just give her apartment to him. It was a nice two-bedroom, the interior carefully crafted and designed by professionals, and the view is outstanding for that kind of price. There's a convenience store downstairs, a few blocks from the wet market, a cyber cafe two lots over and right in front of the 7 Eleven is a bus stop that takes you to the subway. It was a pretty decent place to live, she was considered lucky to even have the chance to get it.

Sung Moon couldn't say much, but he was sorry. He was sorry that his noona got to where she is now. Nobody really knows about the baby, even when she started showing she wore clothes twice her size. She knew like this was going to happen, she didn't know how bad - she never knew that it was going to be this bad. She told her mother about it, and oh how Sung-Im's mother cried for her, telling her to come back to Pohang and rest here.

Her eyes were wet, only a telephone call from her mother can make her tear this much. 'Your mother misses you so much, Sung Im-ah. I haven't even gotten the time to see you during the wedding, and now this happened. Come back home, Seoul is not good for you.' Her mother, already reaching a certain age where she is lonely. Her father is always out with friends his age, or sitting on the porch silently. Cheon Sung Im's father was not the kind to talk much.

'I'll come back, mom, just not right now. I don't want to see you like this.'

'Your mother will heal you, Sung Im-ah, just come back home. Bring Sung Moon with you, he's been there for too long.'

'Sung Moon's working, mom.. Haven't you seen him on TV? His debut? He's very good right, even better than I am.' She says, complimenting her dongsaeng. They bicker a lot, and they can be quite mean, but she cried on Sung Moon's shoulder when she rang on his doorbell from the airport. In the doorway, she cried so much that he, much taller than her now,  carried her into the living room. She told him before she departed from Busan, how her marriage fell apart, how she lost the baby. All of that is gone in one split second. Oh how sorry he felt for her sister. How much pain would she have felt, with massive burden on her shoulders. It is not something that you can bear alone.

'What do you mean he's better than you? You taught him everything he knows. Come back, alright, omma's waiting for you. Your father's calling for me, so I'll talk to you soon. Tell your brother I love him.' She spoke quietly, almost in a hush but she spoke really fast.

'Okay omma, I love you.'

'I love you too, Sung Im-ah, come back home.'

All of the sudden, Song Ji Hyo heard Sung Moon outside, his voice so loud it echoed throughout the whole house. She stopped but she couldn't really hear anything perfectly. She opened the door and headed outside, it was Kwang Soo.

'Ji Hyo-ah!' Sung Moon obstructing his way from coming through. Seeing him at the door, she realizes how much she missed him. But her heart was still bleeding, and the wound would not just heal. She took a step back.

'She doesn't want to see you, hyung!' Sung Moon who rarely raised his voice to anyone, startled the both of them. 'Can't you see? Why can't you realize you have no right to be here?' He tugged onto his shirt, pounced him against the wall. 'Why can't you just leave her alone?!' His eyes were starting to tear.

'Sung Moon-ah, please let me see her. I want to see her, I missed my wife too much.. please.'

Sung Moon crashed him against the wall again, his hand tugging his collar tightly, he had almost no air to breathe. 'Haven't you done enough?!' He was certainly angry, he was boiling with anger. 'What were you doing before? When you spout sweet nothings into her ear, you lied to her. Don't you think I didn't know what you've done? People were talking about you. I shut myself up because if I didn't, then noona would get hurt. It wasn't just Ji Eun, right? You like them young, right? Noona was already pregnant by then. It was my mistake to keep it hush, but you, you should've knew not to get caught.'

'Sung Moon, enough. Let go of him.' She says, commanding him. Finally he lets go. A soft, hushed tone, she spoke. 'It's time for you to leave, Kwang Soo-ah.'

'I miss my wife.' He rebutts. She laughs, softly.

'Why would you miss me? You like those kinds of girls right? I melted pieces of myself just so that I could appear to be the wife that you wanted me to be. I didn't work, I started to cook for you, I cleaned the house. I became the you wanted me to be. I foreclosed my end of the deal, so when are you going to?'

'What I did was a mistake.'

'If it was once, or twice, maybe I could take it as a mistake. But I heard too, from others, that it wasn't just one or two. I don't know how much times have you lied to me, Kwang Soo-ah, I don't think that I'd like to be your wife anyone. You appear so innocent, so thoughtful - but you're a wolf in sheep's clothing. Give me some time, if the divorce papers come, then I reckon you should sign before I get your signatures forcefully. I gave you all that I had, then why can't I do the same?'

Chapter 111: I just finished reading this, but I can’t really decide if I liked it or not. I guess the events leading to the ending (after Chapter 95) was/is not my cup of tea, it kind of made me upset in a way since I love KwangMong, that’s why. But other than that, I loved your writing. KwangMong has been my ship, so thank you for this story :)

Chapter 5: Another great chapter.

I like how Kwang Soo is very caring towards Ji Hyo.
I also liked the way he stumbled when Ji Hyo asked the innocent question, "Did you sleep okay?" It was kinda endearing.

Although at the end of the chapter, I ended up feeling a little sorry for Ji Hyo. Yes, she was partly to blame for encouraging Kwang Soo to drink, but she had to be the one comforting him.

I kinda felt both characters cared deeply about the other. With Ji Hyo fixing him breakfast and then comforting him and with Kwang Soo apologising even though it was not entirely his fault for what happened the night before. And I like that you had him behave timidly. It feels like you are setting us up that he cares very deeply for her. If not he wouldn't be so afraid of shaking the status quo.

I'm so looking forward to find out what happens to them! I've upvoted and subscribed. You have yourself a fan!

Hey, I have to admit I was a silent reader to this and was pleasantly surprised when you updated and completed it! I just love your style of writing, it really captured my attention to the point where I binge read the first 50 chapters then realised that it was unhealthy hahaha.
It was such a roller coaster for both Ji Hyo and Kwang Soo, I had always thought that their relationship was moving so fast that it would hurtle of the tracks. It was such a bitter sweet open ending which leaves me hoping for something more. Overall the whole story was so realistic which I found captivating, it showed not only highs of a relationship but also the lows.
So thanks for sharing this. I can't wait for you next idea. I look forward to reading it.
