Barbecue Night II
Downing Today, Drowning TomorrowSong Ji Hyo saw how Lee Kwang Soo looked at her, and she wondered why didn't he talk to her? He did say hi when he first came, and thanks her for inviting him over, but beyond that, Lee Kwang Soo was not doing much talking tonight. And it was really weird for her. It seems like he feels a bit out of place. She decided to talk to him, it was a barbecue party after all.
'Anyeong, Kwang Soo-ya.' She says, he was the only one not eating. Suk Jin was playing with Haha's kid, having fun while they eat and Jong Kook was busy talking to Dong Wook with a beer in his hand.
'Oh, noona.' He says. 'It's pretty up here.' He says.
'I think it's enough samgyepsal for us to eat, we can grill more if it's not enough. How about we eat?' She asks, 'I'll ask Seong-hee to take over, you're a guest anyways.'
He sat on the edge of the table, his eyes were on Jong Kook and Dong Wook who sat on the chairs near the ledge.
'What would you like to have, I'll get it for you.' Song Ji Hyo says, handing her a bowl of rice and chopsticks.
'I'll eat anything noona.'
Haha was busy eating the meat after devouring the ginseng chicken. He told her it was the favorite dish of the night, after the meat, of course. 'Ya, Ji Hyo-ya, you should do this every week. Never thought you would be good at cooking, so you were faking in challenges before, didn't you?' Haha says when she was getting the stew and leftover chicken for Kwang Soo.
'Oppa, I'll go broke if I do. I've only started cooking now.' She says. She calls Seong-hee. 'Ya, can our Seong-hee grill up some meat for your sister and this hyung here?' She asks. Seong-hee, who was busy talking to the National MC, nodded and abided. He went and handled the grill next.
She handed him the food, and sat back down.
'Byul-ssi, are you eating enough?' She asked as soon as she got some meat for herself, calling out Byul who is supervising Suk Jin with Dream.
'Of course I'm eating enough, Ji Hyo-unni. You're really good at cooking, you should teach me.' She says.
She laughed. 'Me? Teaching? That's funny since I am a beginner as well. But please, come over whenever you want.' Ji Hyo says.
Song Ji Hyo decided to focus on the Lee Kwang Soo who was already eating. He was eating politely, but she asked him to lay back while she got him a beer. 'How is it, Kwang Soo-ya? Is it okay?' She asks.
'It's wonderful, noona. It's really good.'
'How are you guys doing? Thanks for the invite, Ji Hyo-ya.' Lee Dong Wook came, and she realizes that she haven't had the time to talk to Dong Wook as well. She wanted to get Jongsuk to come too, but it seemed like he had work to do this evening. Dong Wook takes a chair and sat with them.
'Have you eaten, Dong Wook-ya?' She asked him, somehow Kwang Soo cursed under his breath - why did he have to be here?
'I did, and it was good, Ji Hyo you should cater us often.' Dong Wook says, as he drinks his beer. They chatted for a while, then she realizes that it was time for dessert.
'I'm going to get the dessert.' She says.
'I'll help.' Dong Wook says. She nodded and he followed her to the kitchen. Then, the unexpected happens.
She took out the creme brulee from the freezer for thirteen people, she made fourteen just in case somebody wins the last one. When she turned to get her blowtorch, the next thing she knew, Lee Dong Wook's lips were on top of hers.
And Lee Kwang Soo was there to see it.
