Chapter 24- Accidental Discovery

Opposites Really Do Attract

"Haven't been to this place in a while..."

Tzuyu stood alone in the empty indoor basketball court at JYP High School. She had been the star player of the team the year before, consistently finishing the most impossible layups with her incredible agility and speed. Her dribbling and shooting were top class too, and she could have even turned professional this year. But her attitude took a turn for the worst and she stopped attending trainings. They still opened the door to her return, but at this rate, she would never go back.

A loose ball laid on the center of the court, and Tzuyu picked it up, feeling all her skill moves and tricks she had performed with this ball, smiling as she recalled the memory of lifting the National Trophy. Man it felt great.

One dribble, two dribbles. Between the legs, behind the back, crossover, fake a drive, pull up jumper.

*Swish*

Drive right, push the defender slightly, step back to the free throw line, knees bent, elbow towards the rim, follow through, sway feet forward for more power.

*Swish*

Tzuyu felt some of her stress go away everytime that ball left her fingertips, finding herself in joy when playing the sport that she loved, feeling a sense of pride each time that ball effortlessly left her fingers and dropped straight into the basket.

But that joy would soon be burst when one Japanese teacher decided to enter the court.

"TZUYU!"

Recognizing that voice instantly, Tzuyu picked up the ball and started running away, not wanting to deal with her at that point in time, especially after what she had said to her just minutes earlier.

"GO AWAY!"

Tzuyu turned around and flung the ball right into Sana's stomach, causing her to let out a huff of pain as she crumbled to the floor, holding onto her torso with her vision starting to go blurry from the pain she was feeling. That ball came at nearly 60MPH, since Tzuyu was one of the strongest girls in the school.

"Please... I'm sorry Tzuyu..."

Sana used whatever strength she had left to chase after the green haired girl, who had slowed down since she needed to unlock the exit door. Flinging her body towards Tzuyu, Sana pressed her against the wall and held on for a while, trying to catch her breath while preparing herself to give an apology.

"Look, Tzuyu I'm really sorry for what I said-"

Sana looked up to see Tzuyu's face in complete shock and fear, her whole body suddenly quivering as her eyes became wider and wider, her head shaking a little as her knees lost all strength, crumbling to the floor while she curled herself up into a ball and put her hands over her head in a defensive position.

"Please don't hurt me... Please...."

Sana looked at Tzuyu in pure confusion and fear, not knowing what she did to trigger this or what she could do to calm Tzuyu down. Looking around, Sana tried to find something that could potentially comfort her, but found nothing.

"Maybe I'll try and hug her..."

Sana walked over to Tzuyu and put one arm around her shoulder before getting roughly pushed back, sending Sana to the floor and banging her head against the hardwood floor, causing her to wince in pain as she wiped the dust from her ponytail.

The door now opened and Nayeon, who had been doing her Prefect Patrol as she liked to call it, saw the state Tzuyu was in and instantly knew what was happening.

"Oh no..."

Nayeon sprinted over to Tzuyu and hugged her, with Tzuyu hugging her back instantly since she knew her sister's touch and scent. It was the one that had saved her from that terrible day, so she knew to never, ever reject it.

"It's ok... Nayeon is here.... Don't worry, I've got you.... Nothing will ever harm you..."

Sana stood up and smiled at the heartwarming scene in front of her, but it didn't help clear her confusion at all.

"What is going on...?"

.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

After 10 minutes, Nayeon had managed to calm Tzuyu down, and let her get some shut eye at the bench in the court, laying her down so she could get some rest before walking to Sana, who's facial expressions showed all kinds of worry.

"Looks like I've got some explaining to do huh?" Nayeon said with a sad laugh.

Sana smiled back faintly, nodding her head a little.

"Please, I want to know what's happening.

Nayeon sighed as she took a seat in the front row of the stands, telling Sana to sit next to her before taking a breath.

"So basically... Tzuyu very very nearly got once before. Ever heard of the PJ-15 case? Yeah, that was for Tzuyu. PJ stands for Park Jimin, notorious playboy here that always looked for girls, especially pretty Year 1's. He had managed to convince Tzuyu to meet him at that now abandoned storage room one day and he nearly had his way with her... But I managed to save her just in time, with the help of my friends Somi and Nayoung, who helped me beat him up. After that, Tzuyu was never the same. She really used to be so cheerful and bright, like the sun. But.. you can see what she has become. It's been really tough on her this past year, and I think that is also a reason as to why she saved you..."

Sana stared crying when she heard the explanation that Nayeon had just given her. She had no idea that Tzuyu had such a tragic past, and that she was actually a cheery girl that learnt the harsh way of the world. She felt like beating the crap out of that Park Jimin guy, what he done was a real sin.

"Wh-What about ju-just now?" Sana asked through tears, wiping her eyes as she couldn't stop crying. Her heart wrenched the more and more she thought about it, she couldn't help but feel pity for the poor girl she thought was a rebel.

"You triggered a flashback in her. Being pinned against the wall like that..."

Sana gestured for Nayeon to stop, shaking her head as she grabbed Nayeon's shoulders and looked at her straight in the eyes.

"I know I'm just a teacher, but I promise that I'll help you, by taking as much care of her as possible here."

Nayeon smiled as she gave Sana a hug, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath as she felt some weight be taken off her shoulders.

"Thank you..."
