Everything to Me part III

“Okay, well here goes nothing” Taeyeon raises her left hand to the door as Tiffany grips her other tightly. “I love you, whatever happens okay?

“I know. Don’t worry, they’ll come around, we’ll convince them” Tiffany said while in the back of her mind she is secretly praying for all of this to work out.

Taeyeon knocks on the door and she can feel her heart beat more rapidly with every knock. They waited for not even thirty seconds before Taeyeon started to panic.

“Honey, let’s not do this okay, they’re probably not home anyways, and maybe we can do this tomorrow or next week, how bout that we do this-” Tiffany silenced her fiancée with her lips observing Taeyeon was having an absolute breakdown.

Tiffany broke the brief but effective kiss cupping her face in her hands. “Look at me TaeTae, breathe. We’re gonna be fine, you’re gonna be fine okay?” she reassured as she d the latter’s cheeks with her thumb trying to calm her down.

“Okay, let’s do this” Taeyeon said taking a deep breath. Just as she took her first calm breath before she could take another, the door opened. “Hi umma, can we talk?”

“Aui- Taeyeon-ah, w-what are you doing here? Of course we can talk sweetheart” Taeyeon’s mom said putting her arms around the shoulders of her daughter. “O-Oh hello Miyoung dear.”

“Hi Mrs. Kim” Tiffany bowed at what seemed like a more than 90 degree angle and smiled brightly as always when seeing Taeyeon’s parents. “Taeyeon and I were wondering if we could talk to you and Mr. Kim, right Tae?”

Taeyeon stood there frozen with her eyes closed as tight as she could get them. Seeing the expression on her face, Tiffany squeezed her hand in that comforting way Taeyeon always calmed down to.

“Right” Taeyeon said confidently and sternly. “We want to talk to you and appa about us. Where is he?”

“Sweetheart, I don’t think that’s a really good idea. You see your father-” before she could finish her gaze went straight to the man at the top of the stairs.

As they saw her eyes fixed on the figure both Taeyeon and Tiffany’s eyes drifted to that direction. The figure slowly walked down the stairs, while his stare getting stronger with every inch closer he got to the three women standing in the living room.

“Hello Mr. Kim, we want to talk to you, are you busy?” he scoffed turning around to sit in his chair completely ignoring the presence of Taeyeon.

“Ah, honey, look our daughter has come to talk. D-Don’t you think that maybe w-we could uh, you know-” she looked at her husband.

“Daughter? I don’t have a daughter” he said briefly while Taeyeon’s mother sat down beside him defeated.

“Honey let’s go, he’s not going to listen. Bye umma, goodbye appa” Taeyeon pulled Tiffany’s hand and was heading for the door until Tiffany stopped her and pulled her back. “Fany what are you doing?”

“Just trust me. We’re not going until we get their blessing, follow my lead” Tiffany whispered in her fiancée’s ear before pulling her in front of her parents. They were still holding hands until Tiffany let go. She formally bowed down respectfully and did not lift her head from her hands as Taeyeon did the same. Silence was throughout the room until Tiffany spoke, “Please accept us. I am asking you not only for myself but for your daughter, my fiancée. I love your daughter with all my heart and I am asking you to please reconsider.”

Taeyeon kept her head down in the bow as did Tiffany as she listened to her talk. Taeyeon could feel the tears build up and face to the floor as Tiffany went on, realizing why she took the risk in the first place, because she loved Tiffany.

Taeyeon lifted her head and picked herself up with determination in her eyes. She went over to Tiffany and took her by the hand raising her up from the bow. Tiffany looked at her with confusion and saw Taeyeon fall to her knees.

“TaeTae, what are you doing?” is all Tiffany could say. Taeyeon’s parent looked to Taeyeon with pain in their eyes. Their daughter had never kneeled before them ever, until this day.

“Umma…appa, I love Tiffany with everything that I am. She makes me happy, and my life is better for knowing her. She makes everything okay when I’m down, she makes everything seem possible when she faces the impossible, she constantly does things that make me fall in love with her more than I already am, and she love me” Taeyeon looked behind her to see a crying Tiffany mouthing ‘I love you’, giving Taeyeon the motivation to continue. “I know that this is a lot to take in but I love you both very much and I want you to be a part of my life, our life. I would do anything for Tiffany and nothing will change that, because the love I have for her will never fade. I would give my life for Tiffany if it meant protecting her, so please understand.”

Taeyeon’s gaze fell upon her father and took his hand in hers. After a few seconds she started up again looking deeply in his eyes.

“Appa, please understand how much I love Tiffany, don’t you know how I feel. How did you feel when you fell in love with umma? You would have fought the world off for umma right?” he looked to Tiffany and
