Someday
AUTHOR:ANONYMOUS

She lay on her back, exposed to the rain, in the middle of a paved path in the park she stumbled into, on the spot where her legs had failed her. The thought to move to a more secluded location, out of sight, didn't occur to her. It was all gone, everything broken. She was paralyzed by the wracking sobs, a devastation of memory and pain pressed her down, crushed her of volition and thought and choice. Her tears joined the quickening rain drops, but they did nothing to lessen her pain and desolation. Her agony. The rain, cleansing rain, but not this day. It couldn't lessen the unbearable hurt. Nothing... nothing ever would. The empty park, the hidden sun, nothing would diminish the pain. She wasn't dead and she couldn't even wish it, she couldn't see the end to her pain. The water continued to hit her uncovered face as she couldn't slow her heavy sobbing, her shuddering breath. It came in waves, each drop reviving a forgotten memory. Her body ached, her heart pounded, her nails had cut her palms as she searched for surcease, only to find more pain waiting with each rain drop.

~~~Flashback
Her muscles ached as she opened the door to her apartment, luggage in tow. Her mood was already aggrieved, even before carrying her stuff up ten flights of stairs because of the stupid broken elevator, and also being stuck on the long plane ride between the snorer who desperately needed learn the value of a breath mint and the leaner whose head had continually found her shoulder. She sighed heavily as she heaved the bags over the threshold, her body protesting every effort. Sore didn't do them justice.
It had been a long week of grueling conferences and lectures filled with abrasive personalities. She'd jumped at the available seat on an earlier flight, much to her later rue. At least the learner hadn't been a drooler. Small small blessing.
Now, what she wanted the most was just to relax and recover and then maybe lounge lazily until the next day. She sighed as she flipped through her piled up mail. Bills, bills, bills and more bills. The familiar tightness over her budget tingled. Coming home was not the relief she could have wished for. Dragging her fee she moved to the living room. There was a familiar purse, not hers, on the couch. Oh yeah. The reason she had wanted to get home earlier than later. She strained her ears and heard the shower running. A smile tugged at her lips as she put down the mail on the end table and dropped the luggage in the middle of the living room floor. She moved quietly to the bathroom door and slowly opened it to humid air. She breathed in the relaxing sweet smell of a distinctive shampoo and body wash and felt her body instinctively relax. The soft humming from the shower made her tingle. This was worth coming home to.
The glass shower door was heavily misted and let her creep undetected across the tile. She bit her lip, anticipating the next moments. "Surprise!" She said, opening the door swiftly and leaning her head in. A wet form jumped, screamed and attempted to cover delicious skin before turning around to look at the laughing girl. Eyes were widened and a hand was pressed to her bone in an attempt to calm a madly rushing heart. Breath exhaled in a sigh.
"Yah!" The surprise victim tried to find words of scolding and anger but they were lost to the joy of seeing the other a day earlier than expected. Trying to at least pout, she put her small hands on her curved hips. "I thought you weren't going to be home for another day." She then turned to continue her shower, as if indifferent to the other's sudden appearance. She heard the ruffling of a jacket being shed and she could imagine sox being tugged off. Before she could turn her head to investigate she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist, fabric getting wet against her back as she was hugged.
"What? Can't I surprise you? I missed you." The hoarse voice in her ear made her smile and the chin on her shoulder made her warm.
"Your clothes are getting wet, Taeyeon."
Taeyeon felt the other lean back into her and sigh before turning around to face her. Her smile was met with something that could only be called a smile that would have melted a glacier, a smile that only the girl in her arms could deliver so unconsciously. "And what are you doing in my shower, Tiffany?"
"You're right. I'm done anyway." Tiffany started to turn to reach for the shower controls but a hand on her chin stopped her.
"Maybe, but I'm not." Taeyeon's pressed her lips against the other's. Tiffany's skin was so soft, Taeyeon noticed, under her own rough and unpolished hands as she moved them up and down. And as she ran small kissed down the other's neck, she could smell the citris notes of tangerine and occasionally took a nibble to satisfy her cravings. Tiffany on the other hand worked to remove Taeyeon of her unnecessary, now soaked clothing. Her fingers were quick, ing and ping and even releasing the hair tie, letting Taeyeon's soft tresses fall into the misty air.
"How was your trip?"
"Horrible and boring." Taeyeon mumbled against Tiffany's soft skin.
“Poor poor baby.” Tiffany teased. Taeyeon stopped and playfully tried a glare at Tiffany. The other just smiled and brought their lips together. Tiffany then kicked Taeyeon’s clothes to one corner and slowly pushed the other towards the tiled wall. Taeyeon winced a bit at the cold surface against her back, but everything else was lost to sensation.
~~~End

The concrete was cold against her back and there was nothing to warm her up. Her thin clothing was soaked through. She felt so vulnerable, so desolate, so cold. This wasn’t supposed to be. She felt her heart lurch at the memory and her senses grasping for any recollection. She didn’t smell the tangerine; she couldn’t smell the tangerine. All that rose around her was the musty scent of wet pavement. The fabric of her jacket had given up any hope of repelling the onslaught of water, and it clung to her as she raised an arm to wipe her eyes. They were swollen and echoed pain, the salt tears no relief.

~~~Flashback
The salt burned her eyes as droplets from a crashing wave hit her face. She frowned, turned her head away and rubbed the momentary stinging pain. Looking back, she saw Tiffany running in and out with the wave. She was screaming joyously like a little kid on their first adventure to the ocean. Beaming, Tiffany ran over and knelt in the sand in front of her.
"Come on. Let’s go in.” She smiled and pulled Taeyeon up and along as she ran back to their footwear a couple yards away from the shoreline. She threw off her shirt and shimmied out of her skirt, revealing a pink bikini tied around a tight body. Taeyeon could only stare as the other lathered her body with sunscreen. “What are you doing?” Tiffany asked noticing the other was still fully clothed. With no answer, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Taeyeon. “Don’t you want to come in?” She asked. Taeyeon lightly nodded. Tiffany smiled as she felt around for the other’s zipper in the back and pulled it down. The skirt, unweighted, fell to the sand as she took a step back. “I'm not going to help you with everything.” She said with an open smile. She then handed Taeyeon the bottle of sunscreen and galloped to the water’s edge before diving in. Taeyeon just rotated her head to watch before returning her sight to the bottle in her hands. Slowly taking off her shirt, she then began to put some on herself, noticing the fine tremor in her hands.
Finished, she turned around to face the waves. To her, although they were quite small, were crashing unforgivingly on the sandy surface. Her heart was pounding as terror crept within her with each nearing step. Tiffany noticed her movements, smiled and waved Taeyeon to hurry on in. She plastered a fake smile and stiffly waved. She could feel other sets of eyes on her as she consciously wrapped her arms around her bare stomach. The only way to hide was to go in. She felt like she was taking giant steps, but the footprints on the sand said otherwise. A receding tide met her first, playing with her toes. She looked up from her feet to where Tiffany was standing, waving her in some more. She smiled and nodded and shuffled further in. The water was cold, and fear sent shivers up her spine. She tried to grip
