STEPPING OFF 2
collection of taeny one shots/multi shots
Part Two
"I'll go wherever you tell me to go. I'll do whatever you tell me to do. I just want you to forgive me..."
Taeyeon continued her eager strides down the narrow pavement, weaving in and out of passersby, fists still clenched so hard that she could feel her fingernails digging deep into her skin.
As the blood began to flow, she gritted her teeth and steeled herself; for she knew that this meager physical pain was nothing compared to the agony that only continued to grow within her heart, tearing at her soul.
Blood wasn't the only thing flowing from Taeyeon.
As her mind brought her back painfully to the moment she opened that door, again and again, it was as if blow after terrible blow was being smashed into her face, and tears streamed down from her eyes freely.
What explanation could either of them possibly have for this?
As she continued forward, Taeyeon mentally searched for an answer, and yet she found none, be it logical or illogical.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden vibration in her pocket.
Unclenching her right fist, she looked down for the first time at her hand, which was now sore and bleeding from the middle of her palm, where her fingernails had dug out the skin.
Sticking her hand into her pocket, she fished out her cellphone.
Looking down at the LCD screen, she saw what she knew would be there.
Tiffany
The phone continued to buzz in her palm, light flashing rhythmically from the screen.
She pressed a button and held the phone to her ear, never faltering in her stride.
"I have nothing to say to you." She spat, and in a flurry of movement, removed the cellphone's battery and threw everything on the concrete pavement, not stopping to even consider.
The parts scattered across the ground, breaking into pieces upon impact.
Pure anger had overwhelmed her, and the only thing she wanted to do now was go home. For what reason exactly, she didn't know herself.
"The caller is unable to answer at the moment..."
Tiffany threw down her arms at frustration, having heard the same response for what might have been the twentieth time since she had last heard Taeyeon's voice over the phone.
She stopped in her tracks, unsure of how to proceed.
Tiffany was an absolute mess after she had left her apartment, leaving Sunny behind.
It was true; there was absolutely no explanation she could provide for what Taeyeon had seen. She wondered if it was even remotely possible that Taeyeon could forgive her after what had happened.
Something told her the chances of that was nothing.
"Where could she have gone?" She muttered to herself, fiddling with her phone nervously.
After some deliberation, she decided that the best place to go to was Taeyeon's house.
Hailing down a cab from the nearby curb, she hopped in.
"Miss Kim! How nice to see you again-"
"I do not want to be disturbed from this point forth unless I call and mention otherwise. Absolutely no visitors, is that understood?" Taeyeon interrupted, heading straight from the elevator.
The concierge was dumbfounded; never had he seen such an expression on Taeyeon's face, nor heard the iciness in her tone.
Observing her retreating figure closer, he noticed the caked blood formed on her hands.
"Wait! Miss Kim! Are you alright?" He called out.
"No visitors!" She yelled, not looking back, entering the elevator.
"Thanks, keep the change." Tiffany said to the driver quickly, squirming to step out of the cab.
She paused at the foot of the building, which was now shrouded in a warm orange cloak from the rays of the setting sun.
The apartment building towered a good twenty floors at least from where she stood, and she strained her neck as she looked upward.
Stepping forward, she pushed a glass door open and walked inside.
Visitors to apartment tenants had to register at the concierge, so she made her way to the long mahogany counter top, where a confused looking young man was standing.
"I'm here to see Miss Kim Taeyeon." She said carefully.
The young man hesitated for a moment, remembering Taeyeon's harsh request before disappearing into her apartment.
"Erm, I'm sorry miss, but Miss Kim gave specific instructions not to let anyone in unless she said otherwise." He stammered, looking away.
Feeling a little discouraged, Tiffa
