I Thought Puzzles Were Dull and Boring...
-anonymous
Lightning struck for what seemed like the thousandths time that night as two figures sat in their calm apartment. One fixated in putting the pieces of a puzzle together while the other continued to click away with her computer. With not much to do tonight because of the dreadful weather the two sat in the comforts of their home and shared what Tiffany called “quiet Fany I’m trying to finish my puzzle and ignore you” time.
She breathed in deeply and glared at the figure sitting on the floor with her feet crossed. The figure picked up another piece of the puzzle, checked if it fit and quickly discarded it. This had been going on for as long as she had been sitting on the dining table trying to kill boredom by taking out her frustration on an online game. Her screen flashed and she pouted as the words “game over” mocked her. That’s it, she had had it. Slamming her laptop’s screen down, she stood up and walked to the sitting figure.
After starring at Taeyeon she figured that she wasn’t obtaining any attention so she sat down next her and crossed her arms, not removing the pout off her face. Taeyeon continued to look intently at the puzzle scattered on the coffee table not interested with the newly added weight on the ground next to her.
Tiffany glared at the puzzle that seemed to have completely captivated her girlfriend. What did this puzzle have that she didn’t? How was this thing even more interesting? Taking a closer look at the demon puzzle she began to notice what it was. Kitties? She mentally gagged at the sight and rolled her eyes leaning her head against the front of the couch.
And then an idea hit her. Metaphorically speaking of course. She raised her head and gazed at Taeyeon, a mischievous grin spreading through her face. This would either help her situation or doom her for the rest of the night. Well, either way if she didn’t try it she might as well be doomed. She breathed in and sent a silent prayer to who ever was listening and scooted closer to Taeyeon. Nothing. Taeyeon didn’t even bother to look at her.
For the love of—
A quick hand movement distracted Tiffany from her thoughts as Taeyeon tried to reach for a piece that was too far off in the table. After noticing the struggle she extended her hand and retrieved the piece handing it to Taeyeon with a smile. Tiffany’s eye twitched as the piece was taken from her hand and placed on the puzzle completing what seemed like the paw of kitten.
After containing her frustration she brought her legs together and folded her arms around them. Deep in thought once again Tiffany sat watching Taeyeon bite the side of piece as she scrunch her eyebrows.
She fidgeted with a hem of her shirt for a few minutes until another thought hit her. This was perfect, this was sure to get Taeyeon’s attention. With newfound hope Tiffany released her legs and crossed them sitting upright. She glanced at Taeyeon who was currently leaning on the table, her head lingered on her hand for support. Perfect. She leaned forward and puckered her lips as they came in contact with Taeyeon’s cheek. It was smooth and warm, she could feel the tiniest muscle movements that meant the latter was smiling. She retreated herself from the newfound warmth and smiled at the sight before her. Taeyeon was blushing from head to toe. Her ears were a deep shade of red and she had the dorkiest smile on her face.
“What is it Mushroom?” Taeyeon asked trying to keep her cool demeanor even though it was slowly shattering.
Tiffany couldn’t seem to wipe the smile of her face and continued to look at her girlfriend lovingly. “You’re so cute when you blush.”
At this Taeyeon blushed even more, which caused her look down at her puzzle again and tare her eyes from Tiffany. Noticing the action Tiffany pouted and took some of the loose pieces of the puzzle tucking them inside her shirt.
“Hey what gives?” exclaimed Taeyeon looking at Tiffany once again, but with no sign of being mad.
“You’re not getting any of these pieces back unless you pay attention to me Kim Taeyeon.” With the last words she pointed at herself with a triumphant look.
Taeyeon looked at the scene a moment longer before falling into fits of laughter. She couldn’t believe Tiffany was acting jealous towards a puzzle. Holding her stomach couldn’t even contain her laughter, but to her surprise T
