I woke up to find my head on Kai’s lap in Kai’s bed. “You’re finally awake, sleepyhead.” Kai acknowledged as I stirred. “What time is it?” I asked, disoriented. “It’s past lunch. I already ordered for pizza.” he answered.”Why didn’t you wake me up?” I grumbled. “Don’t worry, Chan hyung carried you back. You were sleeping so peacefully we were scared to wake you up.” he joked.

“I was worried you had to carry me. Anyway, what’s the plan for today?” I questioned. “We’re having a movie marathon. To be fair, we’ll choose alternately.” he informed. “First movie up is Finding Nemo.” he added. “You’re kidding me.” I stated. ”No I’m not. It’s going to be lots of fun. Come on.” he pulled me up. It was pure torture with Kai hanging on every scene.

Thankfully, half way through pizza arrived and I focused on eating through the next half. ”Finally it’s my turn, we’ll watch Step Up.” I declared. “Good choice!” he patted my shoulder. “I always make good choices.” I boasted. “Ahem.. what exactly makes you say that?” he inquired. “I chose you didn’t I?” I shrugged. He gaped at my answer and turned backed to the movie without another word.

“Hah! I can dance better than Tyler.” he boasted just a few minutes into he movie. “If you’re going to keep doing this, go to sleep. Don’t bug me.” I chided him. “As you say. I’m going to sleep, don’t disturb me.” he said,  swatting my hands away. Then he lay down with his head on my lap, arms encircling my waist.  An hour or so later as the movie ended, my thoughts turned back to the present.

 ‘I’ve never been this happy. Even though all we did was practically nothing, this makes it to the best days of my life. I know this won’t last long but atleast he knows this too. He understands; he makes this possible.’ I thought, a small smile marking my face. I raked my fingers through the soft, dark locks of his hair feeling the smooth texture as my fingers glided through his hair.

”Hmm.. that feels so nice.” he sighed, awakening from his slumber. “How you can sleep so much is beyond me.” I . “It’s a special ability in the blessed.” he answered coolly. I rolled my eyes at him. “Yah! Don’t roll your eyes at Oppa.” He glared. “Oppa? Sehun Oppa’s back already?” I said pretending to not understand what he meant. “Yah! I’m your Oppa.” he snarked, thumping his chest with his fist.

“The only people I call oppa are Sehun, Tao and Chanyeol.” I announced, refusing to submit.  “Fine.” he replied and turned away. “Are you really mad?” I asked him after a while. He gave me no response meaning he really was upset. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but Oppa talk to me!” I finished in a nasal voice. “Oppa shall only talk to Mia if she kisses oppa.” Kai played along, causing me to laugh.

I leaned forward as planted a chaste peck on him just as the front door opened to reveal the return of EXO. “So what did you both do all day?” Chen asked, wriggling his eyebrows. “We watched movies. Someone watched Finding Nemo.” I answered, causing everyone to laugh. The main topic of conversation at dinner was the photo shoot that EXO had tomorrow. They were going to endorse CK Jeans.

“I can model too right?” Kai inquired, clearly excited. “No.” “Yes.” Suho and I spoke at the same time. Everyone turned to me, amused smiles on their faces. “He’s supposed to be resting atleast till tomorrow.” I justified. “It’s only a photoshoot. I think Kai will manage. Any signs of him being in pain and we’ll sent him back to the dorm to rest.” Suho reassured me.

I nodded still skeptical of the idea. “If you’re still not convinced, you could come with us.” Kris offered. I smiled gratefully at him, knowing how difficult it is for him. “That’s settled then. Now let’s all go to bed.” Baekhyun said, clearly tired. “Why the sigh?” D.O. asked from beside me as everyone slowly got up. “Nothing, I’m just upset the day’s over so soon.” I told him.

“That’s no reason to be upset. Tomorrow will be an even better day.” he smiled.”I hope so. I’m glad we’re back on good terms.” I said sincerely. “Me too Mia. Fighting with you isn’t easy.” he joked. “Tell me about it hyung.” Kai wailed as he appeared from behind me. “Goodnight both you. I’ll leave you two alone. Kai don’t stay out too late.” He warned, walking off.

“Go to sleep soon okay? Don’t stay up tonight also. Goodnight and dream of me yeobo.” Kai said, kissing my temple.”You too. Sleep well and call me if you need anything or if your back or head starts to hurt.” I told him.  He smiled and swaggered back to his room. I lay down trying to calm my racing heart so that I could sleep in peace. 

At about 3am, my phone beeped loudly. I checked it to see a notification about Mike. He had crossed the boundary of SM by two kilometers and he seemed to be on his way to the hospitals. I quickly got up and left the dorm with my backpack. I made my way to the hospital and made my way towards Ryan’s ward. The people at the reception desk recognized me from being here enough and more times so they never stopped me.

 “This is an area of restricted access. I suggest you step away now Mike.” I growled as I caught him trying to unlock the door. ‘You don’t know how much I wish I could bury you into the Earth now. The only thing stopping me is I need rock solid proof before I kill you.’  I thought to myself. “I think you leave now and don’t ever let me catch you here. I’ll be alerted every time you try.” I threatened.

“You’re going to regret this.” he spat. “I’m pretty sure I will. I’ll regret letting you walk away.” I muttered. I waited and left only when I had made sure that he had reached the SM building. As I made my way to the parking lot of the hospital, I received a message.  ‘Where are you!? It’s 4 am!! Reply now!’ I read, smiling at the concern. ‘I’ll be back soon. Something came up. Go to sleep now Oppa.’ I replied back and started the drive back.

As I entered the building I noticed he had sent another message. ‘I’ll be waiting till you come back yeobo. I won’t be able to sleep without seeing you’re alright.’ I chuckled at his cheesiness. “Where were you at this hour?” a voice yelled and I squeaked in surprise, dropping my phone. “ Ivy you scared me. I couldn’t sleep so I went out for a drive.” I answered. “What’s got you smiling like a love sick fool?” she narrowed her eyes at me.

 “I’ve never seen you smile like that.” she added. “You’re delusional because it’s early morning. I’ll see you around.” I said, trying to push past her. “You’re going nowhere till you spill.” she stamped her foot, holding me back. Knowing I had no other option, I did just that. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. To my surprise some other unknown emotion also kept flickering in her eyes. Concern maybe; concern for my future together with Kai’s.
