“20:00 hours at the base.” E stated and left the room. It seemed like he was still in shock and denial. “Hyung, Ryan hyung is going to be okay. I promise you that. Isn’t it Mia?” Ren asked, expectantly. This mission had turned me into a softie, but that did not mean I gave people false hopes. JR searched my face for an answer and I averted my eyes from their expectantly glances. “It’s not your fault Mia.” JR said. “Neither is it yours.” I told JR. “It’s not any of yours except the people behind this.” Aron spoke up. 

“What are you going to do now?” Minhyun asked, worry clouding his eyes. “We’re having a meeting today to decide our plan. Don’t worry we’ll get to the bottom of this. We’ll increase security for you guys. I’ll be there for you guys and make sure JR’s safe.” I told them. “Go back now. There’s no point staying here.” Baekho patted my shoulder. “You guys go back. I’ll finish up some work.” I told them. They left and I sat down on the small couch inside Ryan’s room. I stared at the report I had made.

 Now it started to make sense:  Ryan getting tracked, the video timings, the security team being infiltrated, everything could be possible. Now I just have to find out who exactly was behind this. I closed my laptop with a sigh. I felt brain dead, not being able to come up with a plausible solution. I went and sat near his bed on a chair.

“You know Ryan I’d gladly take your please now. Atleast you would have know what to do, I’m stuck here without a clue. Please Ryan fight the darkness.. CheckMate needs you back.“ I said.  “I need you to bully me and call me kiddo. Now who’s going laugh at my smartass replies to Mike? Who’s going to tell me ‘Everything will be alright, kiddo’?” I asked him.

“Mia, everything will be alright kiddo.” a familiar, gentle voice said. I blinked the tears away as I looked back. “What are the both of you doing here?” I asked the two figures standing at the door.  “We’re here to make sure you’re holding up okay. No one should face this alone. Don’t worry I’m here for you. We all are.” the taller male smiled.
