MIA POV

The event began and the awards and performances took place without any sign of trouble. The first half of the event was over and EXO was to perform in the second half.  That explained why Suho was calling me. “Mia, we’re going to get ready. Come along.” he said. I headed towards them after I had informed the security personnel incharge about the change. EXO seemed really excited to perform as I followed them into the greenroom. “Guess who we’re performing with?” Kris asked. 

I titled my head getting a better look at him.  “Girls’ Generation?” I guessed. “Nope. I’ll introduce you to them. Close your eyes.” he grinned as he stepped backstage. “Trust me.” He smirked and he stepped behind and put his hands on my eyes. “Now walk, walk, walk and walk some more till I tell you to turn right.” he instructed. I followed his instruction with EXO chuckling behind me. Finally he asked me to a halt. “Sunbae, I present to you your wife, Mia.” he stated as I opened my eyes to find Kim Jonghyun in front of me.  I bit my lip to control my urge to squeal. I could actually feel my ears growing hot.

“Anneyonghaseyo, Mia imnida.” I bowed to SHINee. “I’m a big fan of your Jonghyun-shi.” I mumbled turning back towards him. “Well I realized that two minutes back as you were introduced.” he teased. I looked at the floor out of embarrassment. He came forward and gave me a quick hug. I pinched my arm to check if it was really happening. It did hurt so this must not be a dream. “Eeeeep…!” I let out a long, high pitched squeal as everyone covered their ears.

He's been my crush since I was 14. I promised myself I'd never do this again. “Jeez woman, stop squealing. You never do this with us. If I had known you would embarrass me like this then I would have never introduced you.” Kris complained. I just deliberately stepped on his foot and frowned at him. “Let’s start getting ready. We want to look our best isn’t it.” Key said, clapping his hands. I sat down in a corner watching the stylists and makeup artists work.  After a while they were ready. Soon, they were called to wait backstage.

‘Please don’t attack him now. Please don’t attack him now. Please don’t…’ I kept chanting, hoping Kai wouldn’t b targeted on stage. My hopes were fulfilled as they came back unscathed. They changed back into their black suits. Just as we made our way back to the designated seats, it was announced that EXO had received the award for Best New Asian Artist.

‘Chukahaeyo EXO!’ I texted Suho. I could see him showing others what I had sent. After that they went back to watching the performances. The last performance had taken place and it was time to announce the last yet the most awaited award, Record Of The Year. Just as the MCs were going to invite the guests to announce the award, all the stage lights went off. I immediately called the incharges. Then the screen flickered to life. “Stand by for further instructions. Keep weapons handy.” I instructed. 

“I hope everyone has been enjoying the awards. However, I’m here to tell you that unless our demands are meet there wil be no further awards to enjoy.  Consider this the second warning. After the third warning we shall start to kill and not just stop at injure. No one can bring us down so stop trying.” he ended with a laugh. The screen went off and all the lights came on. Just then shouts could be heard. “Agent somehow the anti-fans have entered. They’ll hurt EXO.” stated one of them. “ EXO out; I’ll be with Kai. It’s not safe for him to be out yet. They’ll be waiting.” I ordered and ran to where EXO was currently seated.

“Get up! Faster! You have to leave!” I almost yelled at them. ‘They won’t attack EXO if they are without Kai and me. This is the only way to keep both the rest of them and Kai from danger.‘ I reasoned with myself.  The team surrounded EXO and I walked hand in hand with Kai. “Ouch..” I said and pretended to have twisted my ankle. I sat down pretending to nurse my ankle while motioning them to go on. “I’ll see you at the dorm..” I trailed off knowing fully well hat Kai would stay back to help me.

“I’ll help her. Wait for us in the van.” Kai said. I  nodded at the personnel, giving them permission. They almost dragged EXO out while Kai tried to help me stand up. I could hear the anti-fans getting more out of control. “Let’s go to that corner.” I pointed as Kai ‘helped’ me. ‘Anti-fans or not I cannot hurt civilians. What do I do? They will tear him apart if we say here.’ I sighed. Suddenly I thought of a very dangerous idea. It was utterly reckless but it was the only thing that could save him if it worked.  “Take off your ring and coat.” I instructed, as I pushed him into a corner.

He took off the EXO ring that I threw somewhere. His coat met with the same fate. I messed with his hair so that it did not look perfectly styled anymore. “Close your eyes and trust me if you want to make it out alive.” I told him as I put his hands on my waist.  I tilted my head so that my hair covered most of his face. I cupped the other side of his face, hiding it completely so no one could understand that it was Kai from EXO-K. I looked back to see some idols being pushed around as more and more anti-fans crowded the area. Not wanting Kai to be hurt I closed my eyes leaned in and kissed him.
