Kai POV 

My phone went off, stirring me awake causing me to groan in frustration. ‘Just when I had managed to fall asleep.’ I grumbled. Hours spent sleeping were few in numbers and hence, extremely precious. I peeked at the phone to see an unknown number calling.

‘It better not be another saesang who has got hold of my number.’ “Yeobseyo?” I received the call. Little did I know that it was that one phone call I had been praying for every passing minute for the past four months.

“I think he’s finally lost his wits. I told you this would happen. He’s reached breaking point.” Chen hyung concluded. “Chen Chen listen to what he has to say for once.” Suho hyung reprimanded him, causing him to sit quietly.

“Her brother, Josh, called me. They live in New York City. I need to go there. I can see her and I can know who she is. I can convince her to come back. It’s the miracle I’d been hoping for!  It finally happened!!” I narrated in a rush. 

Even though it was 4 am in the morning, they were wide awake with their eyes shining in excitement. It was at that moment I realized she hadn’t left only me heart-broken. She meant a lot to each and every one of them in their own special way.

“I can’t wait to see Ina! I hope she’ll show us around LA. I can’t wait for all the fun we’ll have. I’ll finally see Josh in person..” Sehun rambled on. “Actually.. she doesn’t know about this. So, we’re going to have to run from LA to NYC as soon as SM town LA is over.” I said, gulping when I saw their expressions of utter disbelief.

“The actual plan is…”

Five days later

“Act cool everyone, no pressure. We just have to ‘accidentally’ use the wrong gate and then use the second ticket that we have.” I reminded them for the umpteenth time. “Jongin if you don’t stop now, I swear I’ll borrow a gun from Ina and shoot you. It’ll be the first thing I do when I see her.” Kris said, tone ranging to irritated to happy.

Even the EXO ’Ice Prince’ had not stopped gushing since the last five days. We’ve been behaving like monkeys on crack. The managers didn’t know what was with but they were extremely pleased with the extra effort we were putting in. 

Third Person POV

One by one the boys changed into the best disguises they could muster. ‘No eye contact with anyone and keep your phones off.’ was the mantra to go by.

A brother waited with a placard bearing his sister’s name; not for her but the source of her happiness. His heart swelled as he knew he was going to give her the biggest surprise of her life.

As Kris led the pack on, looking for a sign that said ‘Ina’, Kai walked right behind still not believing this was happening. If it was a dream, he never wanted to wake up from it. When Kris finally spotted Josh, they all quickened their steps. Muttering a quick greeting to them, Josh guided them to the two cars waiting for them.

They would head to a hotel. He then lead Kai to a different car and got it in himself too. Awkward silence filled the car as Josh did not speak a word and Kai was too anxious for words. When they reached the destined building, Josh handed a paper with the lock combination.

“Fourteenth floor,” he said, grabbing Kai from the back, “I don’t care if you’re an idol with millions of fans, I’ll make sure your pretty face is beyond surgery if you hurt my sister.” he warned, forgetting the fact that Kai did not understand him. Kai only nodded and jogged upto the elevator.  Had he turned back, he would have seen Josh chuckle to himself after wiping the stray tears of relief that had rolled down his face. Finally, his sister had a shot at happiness.  

He opened the door, looking around for the reason that his group had put their career at stake. As he put in the lock combination, the door slid open. “Coming, give me a sec Jo----gin..” she finished in a breathy whisper, as she saw him.

He stood there in the doorway, his hands in his pocket painting a picture of perfect nonchalance if there was such a thing. His dark hair though slightly messy, framed his face perfectly. His backpack was discarded on the floor and he made no effort to pick it up. His eyes were solely fixated on her.

That was how Kim Jongin met Sienna Ackles.  

A\N: Firstly, I wanted to point out it's not a happy ending per se. It's an open end; it depends on how you perceive it like everything else in life. If you think they talked things through and got together inspite the distance, so be it. If you think they decided that sometimes love isn't a reason enough for people to be together then that's that. It all depends on you.
