A knock on the door got Hanbin’s mother running towards the front door ‘’Coming.’’ she called out, reaching for the doorknob. Once the door was opened, her smile faded, being replaced by a gasp. ‘’Hyojin?’’ the female asked, not being sure if it was indeed the female over how she had changed since last time they had seen each other.

Hanbin raised an eyebrow upon hearing his girlfriend’s name (could he even call her girlfriend by now?). He picked his son up, feeling relieved he was asleep since things weren’t easy the way they were.

‘’Do you want to come in, honey?’’ she asked, stepping aside but the female felt hesitant. She peeked inside the house, as if looking for someone. ‘’Is...Is Hanbin here?’’ she seemed scared, over something. His mother answered her honestly, nodding her head slowly. Hyojin rubbed her arm and nodded, comprehending her answer ‘’I’ll come back some other day…’’ she mumbled, bowing to the female in front of her.

Hanbin’s mother frowned but ended up nodding, understanding that she shouldn’t in her son’s business. But she couldn’t help it. ‘’Hyojin, don’t you want to stay for a tea?’’ but the female shook her head quickly and stepped back. ‘’I have to go back to work, I just stopped by to make sure Seungho was alright…and everything seems alright so, I should really get going and...well...yeah...thank you.’’ before anything else could have been said, she had walked away, stumbling over her feet.

The door was closed, making the elder female sigh as she walked back to where the baby was. She was surprised to see her son holding to her grandson. ‘’Why was she here?’’ another sigh came off the female’s lips; in her opinion, her son was being too harsh on the mother of his son.

‘’Honey..aren’t you being too harsh on her too?’’ Hanbin’s eyes glared at his mother, how could she say such thing towards him when he was doing the best he could? He felt betrayed with all Hyojin had done after giving birth to his son. His eyes landed on his son who had woken up. The baby was starting to give off certain traces of Hyojin but that didn’t make Hanbin like him less. ‘’Hanbin, you two should talk. I’m afraid she may be getting sick.’’ his mother went on, remembering the way the female looked. She wasn’t as slim as before but the lack of sleep was obvious by the bags under her eyes, the ones she tried to cover desperately but were still easy to notice.

He kept quiet, thinking for a second before shaking his head slowly at how his thoughts were organized in his brain. He scoffed quietly, knowing he was right at some point and that was enough for him not to give in that easily. ‘’I don’t think there’s a chance for us to talk.’’

‘’Think of Seungho at least. He needs his mother as well, you can’t raise him alone. Even if you two don’t get along, at least try for the sake of your son. This is not good for him, you know? You’re away half the time, Hanbin…’’ at some point, his mother was right but he still didn’t want to give in at the thought of all the problems this could bring. The hope could be read off his mother’s eyes. The male sighed quietly ‘’I’ll talk to her.’’ he promised, peeking at his son quietly as he thought that he did have to sacrifice a few things for him once in a while.

Hanbin pecked his son’s head before leaving his mother’s house, heading towards the house he left Hyojin living in. He was surprised to see a car parked outside - she didn’t have a car. He was even more surprised to see a family coming out the front door. Did she have visitors? Slowly, he walked up to those three guests, frowning as at the thought that crossed his mind. ‘’I’m sorry, is Hyojin home?’’ he asked, surprising the family. His brain recognized the face of the guy. He was the one who brought Hyojin home but the female by his side wasn’t Hyojin. The female carried a baby in her arms; they seemed pretty happy - what if Hyojin did say the true?

‘’Hyojin?’’ the male asked confused, looking at Hanbin before realizing who he was talking about. ‘’Oh no, she moved out and sold the place two weeks ago.’’ he informed; Hanbin stared at the male quietly. She sold the house? Why did she sell the house? He was just so confused. ‘’She said she got fired and she stopped coming to the baby classes we used to go to together, I think she moved in with her best friend. But...who are you?’’ hearing this was like getting hit by a truck. At some point he felt guilty.

Without answering a single question, he turned back and reached for his phone, calling Hyojin. He groaned upon noticing she wasn’t picking up the phone. No, it was not that she wasn’t picking up the phone, the number was simply not available. The number was not attributed. Did she change her number?

Shaking his head, the male rode a taxi, knowing where her best friend lived in. He had no idea things between them had gone that bad, for her to do such thing. It didn’t take him long to arrive; he stood outside and stared at the house, shaking his head at how he had given in for her so easily. The male knocked on the door, waiting a few seconds just to knock once again. He was running out of patience.

‘’I’m coming, I’m coming, geez.’’ a voice shouted, opening the door to find Hanbin ‘’what the hell are you doing here?’’ a female asked; by her features, he could tell she was the best friend of the person he actually wanted to meet. He rolled his eyes ‘’Is she home?’’ ‘’If you’re talking about Hyojin, she moved out.’’ she informed, hearing Hanbin scoff. He was desperately, looking for his girlfriend and she was nowhere to be seen. ‘’Where did she go?’’

‘’Why do I have to tell you? Do you know how bad you made her suffer?’’ she crossed her arms, glaring at the male, scoffing quietly ‘’How could you accuse her of cheating on you? Do you even love her?’’ those questions put some weight over Hanbin’s shoulders.

‘’I’m home, Seunghee.’’ Hyojin’s voice announced; she bumped into Hanbin as she wasn’t even looking at where she was going. ‘’I’m sorry, I didn’t know you had someone o-’’ the female stopped as she looked up to greet the guest. It was Hanbin, the person she ran away from just a while ago when she tried to visit her son. She gasped. Seunghee face palmed, what a great timing. She pulled Hyojin inside quickly, pulling her behind her. ‘’I’m not leaving until you and I talk, Hyojin.’’ he spoke.

Seunghee rolled her eyes ‘’Then you can wait outside there, on the cold because she’s not going to ta-’’ however, Hyojin pushed her aside. It could be about her son that they needed to talk about, even though she was more worried about Hanbin anyways. Hanbin smirked at Seunghee; Hyojin didn’t seem as mad as people told him she was but she definitely looked different. Did she even get some sleep?

‘’I’ll bring her home before dinner.’’ he warned, looking over at Seunghee; he held out his hand for Hyojin but she only walked ahead of him, stopping by the gate as she waited for Hanbin. He walked up to her, leaving Seunghee behind, rolling her eyes.

‘’We-’’ ‘’Is Seungho doing fine? Did something happen? Does he need anything?’’ she interrupted him, making him frown at the lack of care she had for him. He didn’t realize he had done this as well, before. ‘’I didn’t come to talk about him... ‘’ Hyojin nodded slowly, going ‘o’ shaped as she waited for him to say what he wanted to say. She rubbed her arm, feeling the cold hitting her skin.

Hanbin noticed that and couldn’t help but reach for his own jacket, having her stopping him. ‘’No, it’s cold, you’ll get sick…’’ she mumbled, smiling a bit at him to assure him she was fine. It was the first smile he had seen from her since he left and it wasn’t even half as happy as it used to be and it was caused by him. The male sighed quietly, shaking his head slowly ‘’How can you even come out here without a jacket?’’ but the female shrugged quietly not wanting to tell him the reason why she didn’t bring out a jacket. ‘’What do you need, anyways? Does Seungho need something or is there anything you need?’’ the male sighed quietly, wondering why he was so mad at her in first place when he knew perfectly well she would never cheat on him.

‘’We need something..’’ he started, reaching for her hands. Hearing this, Hyojin panicked. ‘’Really? Are you guys sick? Does Seungho need medicine? I’ll get it, just tell me what it is, I’m getting my paycheck soo-’’ Hanbin sighed heavily. ‘’Hyojin, I know you got fired… and I didn’t come here to ask you for money. I wanted to ask you to come back… Seungho needs you there and I do too…’’ the female was surprised with his words, feeling tears running down her cheeks just so easily. By now, Hanbin had put two and two together, understanding what was going on.

He took off his jacket and pulled it around her, wanting to keep her warm. ‘’How did I let things get to this point?’’ he sighed quietly, shaking his head, disappointed at himself as he understood why she was living with his best friend. ‘’Hyojin, why didn’t you tell me about this?’’ he frowned, looking down at her who looked down, shrugging her shoulders - lately all she had done was crying, her best friend wasn’t helping at all with all the things she said.

Thinking back at the time she was pregnant, the female sniffed ‘’I didn’t want to worry you… Seungho was doing fine and that was all that mattered.’’ she told him, looking up at him after wiping away her tears. ‘’He’s fine right now so nothing else matters.’’ she continued, nodding once.

‘’...Hyojin, it’s not just Seungho who matters, you matter as well…’’ he told her, sighing as he wrapped his arms around her, trying to warm her up a bit more but she didn’t move, laughing quietly. However, it was heavy, like she didn’t mean it. She kept looking at him. ‘’Be honest with me, if I didn’t tell you I was pregnant that day, you would have still ignored me. Seungho is the reason why we’re together, right?’’

He had just no idea it was what were on her mind. He frowned; he was hurt with her words but now, things made even more sense. ‘’Hanbin, it’s okay if you don’t want to be with me, I understand that, Seunghee helped me get used to the idea… Let’s just be good for Seungho, he’ll understand when he gets older.’’ she tried to break away from his embrace but the male didn’t move and kept looking down at her.

‘’I don’t know what gotten into you, much less where you got those ideas from but it is not true. I love you, I really do. I’d love you still if we didn’t have Seungho. I was really worried about you when I was away because I knew something wasn’t right but you kept turning me down. I’m sorry that I..’’ he stopped because he felt her hug him. Her head was buried in his chest. He felt his shirt getting wet, knowing she was crying, yet again. It made him wondered just how many times she cried because of him while he was away and even when he did something, like leaving their house.

‘’I’ll find us another apartment, move in with me again.’’ he asked her but she shook her head slowly, pulling away from him. ‘’I know you’re busy, I don’t want to bother you more. I’ll stay with Seunghee, it’s fine.’’ she mumbled, wiping away her tears. ‘’I’m not leaving you in here. Seungho and I need you.’’ he tried getting some sense back into her head.

‘’I’ll do anything…’’ the male tried once again. Hyojin bit her lip, shaking her head at her thoughts. ‘’It’s fine…’’ ‘’Can you be honest and tell me why all of this started?’’ Hyojin sighed quietly, shaking his head slowly. ‘’Is it because I wasn’t here?’’ he asked her, frowning, watching her nod slowly. He sighed ‘’I’m sorry that I wasn’t here for you through the last months… I’m sorry that I got so busy with work that it may look that I’m ignoring you but I’m being honest when I say I need and love you.’’ the male continued, looking into her eyes. He was being honest; she knew it. ‘’Come home with me, let’s see Seungho, hmm?’’

He had managed to bring her with him , to where Seungho was, waiting with his mother. Once they arrived, his mother was surprised to see her, with a soft smile. ‘’Welcome, welcome. Seungho is sleeping right now…’’ Hyojin smiled a bit, bowing to the female who just now showed a bright smile back to her. It felt good to be back like this. At least they had worked it out.

Hyojin walked up to her son; it has been a while since she last saw him; she smiled, watching him sleep calmly. His mother was happy to see her there; she wanted to talk to them but she also wanted Hyojin to relax first. Hanbi too, was happy to have her back with him. He calmly walked up to her, pecking her head gently as he wrapped his arm around her ‘’I’m sure he’s just as happy as I am to have you back.’’ he told her, pecking her head once again. It felt great to be back together.
