Past was something that should be over their backs, rolling down with the sweat the rough steps made their skin drop. It should simply be left as another step of their life but some things were just hard to get over with, Chaeyoung knew about it way too good. A soft smile was displayed over her lips as she thought about things she wanted to forget.
It had been a while since she actually got down to think about her past and how things got easier since she met Jinhwan. He didn't really know about the things she went through but in her opinion, the story their shared was enough to make up for those years she spent trying to fight a problem that seemed to have no way out. However, the female was having one of those days in which the past hit her with everything it got, making her fall down to her knees and cry it out.
She stood in her room, shaking her head slowly at how she noticed she could be nothing without Jinhwan. She wanted to be fine for him. She didn't want him to run away from her because of something she knew she could get over. Just the thought of food made her sick today. She refused to eat lunch, maybe because Jinhwan and her weren't doing so great these past few days.
The female wiped her tears away with her palm. By the looks of it, Jinhwan wasn't actually intending on making it easier on her. Maybe if he knew how much she was suffering, he'd want to take that back. She wanted to be strong in that moment but it was impossible. Chaeyoung frowned as she peeked at her toes.
Her ears heard the sound of her bell ringing; she didn't want to get off her bed in that moment. She ignored it, noticing her phone light up with Jinhwan's voice asking her to pick up her phone; she wondered why she actually recorded him calling out her name and used it as his ring tone. It was stupid, it didn't make sense in that moment. She ignored it. It couldn't be good news anyways. Followed by one of her breakdowns this could only be something that would make her regret picking up the phone.
''Baby, I know you're there, come open the door, please...'' Jinhwan's voice shouted from the outside; he knew her house like the palm of his hand since he had been over way too many times before. Chaeyoung sniffed, shaking her head slowly as if answering the male who couldn't see her. She knew this was maybe more psychological than anything else but sometimes, she couldn't simply take things nicely; how could she slap herself back to reality when reality was so harsh on her?
Jinhwan, on the other hand, decided to try calling her once again. The situation was getting worst in his eyes. They fought over a stupid thing and he noticed that she didn't reach out for him this time. She simply cut off each and every way to get to her. The male blinked when he noticed that his phone didn't even ring. She had turned off her phone, he was sure of that. ''Do I have to be Tarzan, now?'' he sighed, looking at the window of his girlfriend's room. How was he going to get there? He wasn't sure.
Slipping his phone back into his jean's pocket, he took a deep breathe; he wasn't going to let this get worst when he knew he could fix it. Before his brain could start calculating how dangerous the situation he got himself into was, he was already climbing a tree that was nearby, helping him getting to his girlfriend's bedroom. He never imagined himself doing such thing, especially on a situation like this. ''Chaeyoung.'' he called out once his feet landed on the roof of her house. He noticed the female was holding onto her knees tightly, sitting on her bed as her eyes were staring at the bed.
She looked distant, perhaps even not there; could this be because of Jinhwan? He wasn't sure but deep down, he wished that the reason wasn't him. He gently knocked on her window, watching the female turn her head to see him; her puffy eyes making him understand that he took part of her sadness as well. ''Please open the window.'' he asked her, biting his lip as he noticed she wasn't moving. She only sniffed. ''We need to talk.'' he continued but she still didn't move.
''Okay, then just listen to me.'' he decided to use a different aproach since she didn't seem to even want to have him there. He managed to sit down on the roof and still see her through the window. ''It was stupid, arguing with you because of food. I'm really sorry. I just... I was worried for you, you ate so little and that's not something you usually do...'' those words broke her down more than he could imagine. She frowned, feeling her tears raising up to her eyes and roll down her cheeks again - just when she was managing to control them.
Chaeyoung had no idea why but she opened the window and let Jinhwan in. He was quick to come in, close the window and pull her into his embrace, watching how it looked like it was all she needed in that moment. His hands gently rubbed her arm that suddenly looked so small compared to his. It was then that he knew that he wasn't the only reason why she was in this mess. Probably it was him who started but he wasn't the one to blame for it.
His sweet voice decided to try comforting her ''I'm here for you, you can tell me anything. If you wish to do so... If you don't, I'll he bere with you and cry with you if I need to.'' he tried calming her down, smiling slightly at how she managed to control her tears. His fingers traced small shapes into her arms as she held onto his shirt, shutting her eyes tightly as she thought of how to let him know about something that was supposed to be buried in her past, something that could probably push him away and scare him.
''I'm... I'm... I was ill.'' she frowned at how she put it out; could she even concider herself ill at this point? She wasn't sure since this could simply be something that was happening out of stress. Yes, that past tense actually made sense in her brain and she hoped that it'd make sense in his as well because that was everything she wanted to remember ber problems as: past.
Jinhwan calmly sighed at this information. His head nodded slowly as he understood why she was acting this way; probably she thought he wouldn't stay by her side. But this wasn't the case. He held her tightly to him ''That's okay, it's okay. You were ill, I will heal you. We will get through it together, no matter how hard it is. I will be here. You'll be fine, I can promise you that'' he told her, not wanting her to feel pressured to tell him about it, or to feel alone through the things that were about to cross their paths. Chaeyoung smiled a bit at how comforting his words on. She could fall asleep with them.
''I promise you, this promise won't fade.'' he continued, making her chuckle out a small thank you; she was thankful for his actions, wondering how she even got him over all this. She held onto him tightly just so she'd have him closer to her, she couldn't live without him and that was for sure.
